Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Isaiah 9:6

Advent is a season to celebrate and contemplate. We rejoice that our Savior has come to us! We also seek unhurried moments of quiet to reflect on His wondrous light and the promise of His future return. Take time today to pause from the busyness of the season to catch up on your reading, make space for prayer, and rest in God’s presence.

For a child will be born for us,
a son will be given to us,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
He will be named
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
–Isaiah 9:6

Prayers to all those in need. May you find peace and strength during the holiday season. My father and I have always found it a difficult time. Due to the businesses we have owned, Christmas is always slower and less money. I’ve always done a great job of not letting our kids know and my husband doesn’t get bothered by it, but my father and I have because it’s been a part of my life for 50 years. This year has been different. I found SRT and thanks to this study, I have been finding the light in the darkness, and even shared it with my father! We have both been a lot happier this year. It’s truly a blessing ❤️

Allie McCandless – prayers for you and your boyfriend today. I struggle with my mental health too (anxiety, not depression). It’s hard on my husband who wants to support me but doesn’t always understand. Mental health struggles—big or small—are plain hard sometimes. Just wanted you to know that folks here are praying for you. And here if you ever want a listening ear ❤️

A year ago, on Christmas Eve, we learned that my husband had stage 2 esophageal cancer. Through Jan, Feb, and March he did chemo and radiation, which he tolerated very well. An April scan showed spread to the liver, so he was graded stage 4. More treatments with chemo and immunotherapy took a huge toll, mentally and physically, but he made it through. Latest scan on Thanksgiving Eve shows no active tumors. He is considered stable at this point, but that can be short-lived. For the first time since I was a child, 50+years ago, I fell to my knees and gave thanks to God our Father,. I know in my heart that his progression through this was due mostly to the amount of prayer that has been pouring in for him from all over the country. I am appealing to you for prayers for a healthy 2022 for my husband. His name is Skip. Thank you all, and have a blessed Christmas.

Mari V thank you so much for checking on me! We are doing really well! Our third trimester starts right around Christmas, praise God! The enemy has been trying hard to steal my joy over this , but everyone’s continued prayers have helped immensely. I hope your ankle is continuing to heal well! ERB praises for your brother finishing his test and semester well! And to those who hear the Messiah when they read this verse, I do too! I love it. Have a blessed Saturday ❤️

Love love this verse. When I was running last winter, this verse was beautifully written in beautiful chalk art colors on the trail that I would run

  20. Heidi V says:

I just love that Saturday’s are called Grace day. It sets the tone to be intentional and God focused rather than “get everything you possibly can get done”. I definitely spent too many years with that motto on Saturday’s! Funny how the important things get done on Grace days and they are so much more enjoyable and fulfilling, especially during Advent. Thank you God for the gift of your Son and for Your grace!!

    CELEBRATE
    CONTEMPLATE
    REJOICE IN CHRIST, OUR SAVIOR
REFLECT ON HIS WONDROUS LIGHT and PROMISED RETURN
    PAUSE TO PONDER and PRAY
    REST IN HIS PRESENCE
Continued prayers for you all and PRAISES (ERB, ecstatic for your brother!) for the answered prayers and special blessings.
Foggy and dreary outside, but the tree lights are twinkling, my coffee is fresh and hot, and my kitty is on my lap. God is good! This time with God and you ladies is so special.

  23. Debbie Burton says:

There is beauty in quiet and still moments reflecting on Him.

    Amen

  25. Jennifer Spiers says:

Father God, may we be taken in with You, not taken out. Take us and cover us with the Light and Truth of Jesus, our Beautiful Messiah. Let us pursue the path of holiness by Your gift of acquittal. We are freed from the weight. We can walk lightly with You, shining the light of hope and joy into this shadowy world. May each woman reading this be reassured of her beauty radiating from her heart because of her seeking You. May we be refreshed and renewed to show strength in the unseen humility of our love to those around us, or even just to our selves. May we walk in grace and contemplate our own calling from the Lord. Let us be peacemakers and safe harbors while receiving the endless supply of peace from Jesus. He is our best gift that flows endless excitement and strength to our heart. With Him all things are possible. Endure. Enjoy. He gives us what we need to do all the things. May we hold fast and be who God our Father created us to be right here. Right now. Amen.

  26. Rhonda J. says:

Joy to the World, and JOY to you she’s! And peace.

No it is not easy, life is hard, life is complexing and tricky, and wonderful too. Like I said before, I wish I could have had a relationship with Jesus in my young adult life. Yes, I was a Christian, but I was a little mystified at the phrase “relationship with Jesus.” I only knew that to be a good Christian meant believing in God and being a good person.

Building a relationship took reading the bible, studying and meditating on the word, and praying without ceasing. He is not a great god up there to have a lukewarm understanding with, on-call when needed, He is THE God, that sent His SON to show us how to be in a relationship with, and then ascended leaving the Holy Spirit IN US to be with us through everything if only we and be born again to live for Him.

Happy Saturday to you all! We leave tomorrow(my son and I) to go see my sister and the girls, Anniston (and her baby), and Savanah, that you so graciously prayed for this past year!! Her son is there too visiting with my first great-niece which we haven’t seen. Please pray for safe travels.

The music from Handel’s Messiah always goes through my head when I read these verses. I love how the music swells:And His Name shall be call-ed WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, the MightY GOD the everlasting FATHER, the PRINCE ofPEACE. The EVERLASTING FATHER. THE. PRINCE. OF. PEACE!

Praying for all, especially these (praying yesterday also but post didn’t go through) –
LEXI-for comfort as you grieve and work through these losses
SARAH D – confidence and relief from your work anxiety
ERB- brother’s testing and upcoming semester, your friends facing possible legal action, your friend and her best friend/family who are grieving husband’s death
    LORI – you and husband
SARAH BURCKHARD – so sorry for your losses
ALLIE MCCANDLESS – praying for you and boyfriend and that he seeks the help he needs
MARTHA HIX & TRACI GENDRON – praying for comfort in the coming days

Also please pray for the family of the husband & son who lost their lives in the Tennessee tornado while on vacation Dec 10. Their joint service is today. Husband’s brother in law also died (service not yet scheduled) so more grief in these families than I can comprehend.

Today’s scripture is what I chose to write in my Christmas cards this year!! So it was such a blessing to see it here this morning!!! It is such an awesome reminder of Who God is and how FAITHFUL He is!!! I love it!!

VICTORIA E, KELLY, and everyone else who prayed for my brother and his HUGE test yesterday, he did it!! He made it through!!!! I don’t know his grade yet, but it looks like he passed with flying colors!!!! YAYAY God!!!! And thank you for the prayers, he now gets 2 weeks off from school and then has to dive into another pretty INTENSE semester, so your continued prayers are SO much appreciated!!! Thank you dear sisters!!!

As far my family friends who took in the homeless person… things only seem to be getting worse and more stressful!! So they REALLY need and covet your prayers!!! Thank you so much!!!

My close friend, whose best friend’s husband committed suicide… they are still reeling from the shock and weighed down by grief… none of these people are believers so they really NEED our prayers!!! Thank again for praying with me!!

A very blessed REST day to you all!! I am praying and lifting every single one of you up to our Father, the One who FULFILLS, who is the LIGHT of Lights and the MIRACLE of Miracles!!! Much Love to you all!! Xoxo
