    Praying Cassandra.

  2. Parasa says:

Amen. Glory be to the Father.

  3. Ashley Thomas says:

This verse is so important every day, but especially during these trying times. Even if we are social distancing, we can still smile and wave at others. We can write positive messages on our sidewalks and driveways with chalk. We can help our elderly neighbors. We can still be the light when there is so much darkness and uncertainty in the world. We can stand true to our faith in Him.

  4. Melissa Mcronney says:

    Amen…powerful

  5. Dorothy says:

Churchmouse, I will be praying for your community and I loved your last comment on Friday.
Cassandra King I will be praying for you and your family. God has you and your family in His hands.
    Amen Sara Terry, Bridgette Alvarez
Tina I didn’t know about all those words for that song. I’ve heard other ones.
I love that song Leslie Warnick.
For any of my SRT sisters that have children, grandchildren etc. that would like an explanation of COVID-19 and some activities to go along with it, from a reliable source, here is a website from one of my nursing websites; livescience.com/coronavirus-kids-guide.html

  6. Sarah D. says:

Praying for you Cassandra and all my SRT fam! Also, I saw a video from the Bible Project called “Exile”, highly recommend watching because it helped me understand the book of Jeremiah better, as well as the bigger theme of Exile and how it relates to us today! :) Definitely recommend watching it.

  7. Dorothy says:

My shining light is of the love from God and Jesus Christ and the Holy.
My good works come from following the teachings of God and Christ, which I have learned all my life.
I give glory to my Father in Heaven because He sent His One and Only Son to die for my sins and forgives me continuously and gives everlasting life.
All I have to do is believe and have faith and I do Lord, even though I sometimes stray I do Lord, I do.

  8. Bridgette Alvarez says:

CASSANDRA KING I’m at in continuous prayer for you and your family as well as for your country. I was reading Isaiah 26:3 – You will keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You. God is a God above our circumstances. Everything is under His feet. Casondra, no weapon formed against you shall prosper. God will provide your every need. Cry out to Him. Trust Him. I’m already thanking God for that which He will deliver you and your family from. It’s going to be good. In Jesus name. Amen

  9. Leslie Warnick says:

  10. Courtney says:

Cassandra, I am so sorry that you are experiencing such difficult times and am praying for your healing and God’s love and protection over you and your family and that He softens the heart of your husband and inspires him to do what is right.

  11. Cassandra King says:

I have been sick with a low grade fever for weeks. We have 5 kiddos, and our county makes up more than half the deaths and positive cases for Covid. To say I’m concerned is an understatement. I’m a cancer survivor with an autoimmune disease and asthma. 2 of my girls have asthma, and one has Lupus. My girls no longer have insurance because their biological father lost his job and refused to give us the info needed to add to our plan, despite the attorney telling him to do so. I trust God will simultaneously feeling fearful. I covet your prayers and am praying in turn for supernatural protection of God’s children and opportunities to show the love of Christ to our neighbors.

  12. Eva says:

I love this verse! It’s a simple reminder that in this current season we have got to remember to reflect the love of God, to let His light shine so that we may be a source of light and peace to those who need it. God is still good. Forever.

  13. Anna S. says:

I love this verse for today because it’s a reminder that people are always watching us. We have an opportunity to be a light to the world in how we respond to everything going on. I’m planning to get married three weeks from today and in light of everything, my original plans have had to drastically change. It’s never what I wanted, but I see it as an opportunity to be a light to my unsaved family and friends during this time. God is still doing good things even in the midst of what seems to be chaos to us.

  14. Mikki says:

“…let your light shine before others, that they may SEE your good deeds…” This is speaking to me that to disciple is to be the best Christian, friend, family member, coworker that you can be and this is the best way to “glorify your Father in heaven.” Actions speak louder than words.

Praying for all of you SRT sisters! We will get through this, and I’m glad I get to with all of you! <3

  15. Mari V says:

Growing up I heard this verse in form of a song during what I “think“ was communion time in the Catholic Church. I was young. I still remember the beautiful voice singing it. Interestingly I can still hear her voice. Whenever I see this verse I can sing it. Back then I didn’t know that it was Matthew 5:16. I pray that in one way shape or form that I’m letting the light of Jesus shine. It’s not me! Not me at all. It’s all Jesus! I miss the kids at school! I miss the little kindergartners and their smiling faces. Whenever one of them needed that extra TLC, I would pray silently that it would be Jesus‘s arms who are comforting the child. I miss them so much!

  16. Rachelle says:

This is beautiful and humbling thank you for sharing!

  17. Tina says:

I just had the song/hymn.. this little light of mine.. I’m gonna let it shine..

This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine
Everyday, everyday, everyday in every way
I’m gonna let my little light shine.
On a Monday – He gave me the gift of love
On a Tuesday – His peace came down from above
On a Wednesday – He told me just what to say
On a Thursday – He taught me just how to pray
On a Friday – He gave me a little more faith
On a Saturday – He gave me a lot more grace
On a Sunday – He gave me the power divine
To let my little light shine
    I’m gonna let it shine
    I’m gonna let it shine
    I’m gonna let it shine
    Oh, Oh, Yeah!

Loving that Saturday, He gave me a lot more grace! In these trying times, what grace we may need to deal with the ‘extra time’ with our relatives and those around in this season..

Gonna let my light shine.. let it shine, let it shine..

Happy, blessed and grace filled Saturday Sisters…❤

  18. Sue says:

“The object of our shining is not that men may see how good we are, nor even see us at all, but that they may see grace in us and God in us, and cry, ‘What a Father these people must have.“ Charles Spurgeon

May we live in such a way that through our light others will not only see God in us but also want the God we have. And may God be praised!

    1. Nancy Singleton says:

      Amen! Exactly the point!

    2. Samantha Sexton says:

      Yes…Amen to that!

  19. Ariel Harris says:

    Great observation!

  20. Sara Terry says:

I am noticing that the scripture says “let” and not “make” your light shine. So often I feel like I am at risk for missing Gods call for my life . But the Holy Spirit, my light, is impossible to not shine and guide me forward in life if I abide in the word and “let” Him through!

    1. Melanie Rastrelli says:

Amen to these thoughts today Sara Terry. God bless all of the SRT sisters. Let your lights shine today. ✝️✨✨✨

  21. Searching says:

“May these lights be as a raging fire.” Powerful actions and powerful words, Churchmouse.

  22. Churchmouse says:

Our local churches contacted one another and have designated today as a day of prayer for our small community. We have had two deaths and 14 hospitalizations, 7 in the ICU, from Covid-19 in the past week. We have one hospital in our county. Each participating church was to select a two hour time period during which their congregation would pray. Our church will be praying from 9-11am. Each family, each person on their knees will be a light penetrating the darkness. This good work may not be visible to many at all but the Father sees. How powerful for family members to join together to pray, for children to see their parents’ heads bowed, for the simple prayer of a child to be spoken, for a teenager to read the Bible instead of their phone. Lights, every one. That single person or that elderly one, alone in their home, crying out to God on behalf of their family, friends, neighbors. More light. All across the community, a beacon of hope. We may be under a “stay at home” order but prayer doesn’t stay. It goes forth. No boundary. From our lips to the Father’s ears. This is the family of God. May these lights be as a raging fire.

    1. Terésa Timmons says:

      Yes, and Amen.

    2. Sharon Smith says:

This is what is truly is needed~ what a great message of hope and a surge back to our Savior in the midst of this pandemic- to come together in prayer and hope ~

      Beautiful

    4. Shasta Moczulski says:

      ❤️

    5. Dee Wilcox says:

I just read this out loud to my husband. Thank you, Churchmouse. I think it’s so easy to focus on how we get through (Should I get groceries today? What kind of schedule do I need to create for my kids?) and forget that God is calling us to utter reliance and dependence on Him. He is our only hope. He is bigger than Covid-19. Jesus put sin and sickness and shame to death on the tree, and this is our call to prayer. Easter is just a week away, but it’s so easy to forget… I’ll be praying with you today.

      1. Kristin R says:

Love your words, Dee! Thank you! “He is our only hope. He is bigger than Covid-19. Jesus put our sin and sickness and shame to death on the tree, and this is our call to prayer.” In the midst of the uncertainty, anxiety and stress, I need to remember He is Greater than it all and He has it under control!

    6. Mari V says:

I loved this Churchmouse! I’m praying for you.
Thank you for your amazing words of wisdom.
And Dee, as I finished reading the very same thought of reading this to my children came to me.

    7. Cristina Higgins says:

Let my light shine for God’s heart ! Amen and Amen

    8. Candida Armendariz says:

I pray that covid 19 would be stopped in its tracks. May your small community see more recoveries in the next few days. Lord, thank you for the opportunity to pray to you and for you to listen. You are a mighty God worthy of all praise. Amen.

    9. Jennifer Anapol says:

      Amen!
