I am also praying for you, Abigail.

  4. Laura Beth Peters says:

Pretty wild scripture for today considering the state we all find ourselves with a spreading deadly virus. But God…

  5. Sondra Watson says:

Our great God is completely in charge and no matter what “tools” Satan tries to use he is already defeated. Keep the faith and pray for revival.

I’m reflecting on how this this virus is affecting our world. There is fear in the hearts of many. Doors of worship are being mandated to close and all so close to one of the best celebrations for all who believe… RESURRECTION SUNDAY.

Today I pray for Satan to be put back in his place! He has no place in our hearts to bring fear. Fear is of the devil and it is a liar. Satan you have no place to close our church doors. You must be pretty proud of yourself right now. Thinking you have found a way to hinder the gospel.

I pray for protection and clarity and for those who believe to step up and work even harder to further the gospel. We are the light of Jesus. Light destroys darkness! May we remember during this chaotic time the work we have been called to. May we remember our purpose. Most importantly may we remember that we serve the GOD we conquered the grave! He is on our side!!

  7. Parasa says:

We pray for you Abigail. Please take care and continue to have trust on our Lord savior Jesus Christ.

  8. Churchmouse says:

Certainly will pray for you, Abigail, and for all those especially susceptible to this virus. Children’s Hospital has not made any announcements about elective procedures so for now Julia is still scheduled for March 24. Our daughter and son in law are hoping to hear Monday that they can travel to Alabama – otherwise they will be on a travel ban until possibly May. Most of their belongings are on a truck already enroute to their house in Alabama. Those items will have to be put in storage until their arrival. It’s an unfortunate situation but they are together and have supportive friends. Like so many of us, they are making the best of their situation, trusting that God sees the bigger picture. We trust in His way and His timing. Praying for all of you, dear SRT friends. Thank you for praying for me and mine.

    Hi sisters,
I am located in Seattle, so there’s a lot of turmoil and uncertainty here. Churches are closed, libraries are closed, my office is closed, and I’m actually sick myself so I’m currently under quarantine. It’s lonely and scary, but I’m trying to take heart and have faith. I would sincerely appreciate prayers.

    1. Tess S says:

Praying for a full recovery for you Abigail!

      1. Abigail Tarpley says:

Thank you Tess!! It really doesn’t feel much worse than a cold, but the quarantine is so lonely and miserable. I appreciate the prayers.

      2. Kim Bayon says:

So grateful for this timely reminder. Jesus points Martha and us to hope in Him. You are good, God. Help us keep our eyes fixed on You.

  13. Angel Santos says:

I read this prayer by David and feels this applies to these times as well

    Psalm 144
12May our sons flourish in their youth
    like well-nurtured plants.
May our daughters be like graceful pillars,
    carved to beautify a palace.
    13May our barns be filled
    with crops of every kind.
May the flocks in our fields multiply by the thousands,
    even tens of thousands,
14and may our oxen be loaded down with produce.
May there be no enemy breaking through our walls,
    no going into captivity,
no cries of alarm in our town squares.
15Yes, joyful are those who live like this!
Joyful indeed are those whose God is the LORD.

  14. Mari V says:

Good morning sisters, hope you’re all having a great start to your Saturday. Yesterday morning while I was very busy at work, my son text me. He was asking if I thought this was the end. (Assuming he was asking because of all the chaos with our current world situation) I’m at work and should not be on my phone. One of the teachers saw me and asked if I was OK. I told her about the text. She being a mother who also has a son in college said, “take a deep breath” and you answer your boy. “It’s ok”.
I know my son knows the truth but I keep in mind he is still a kid. This morning as I read the WORD that Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life is a reminder again that He’s got this! All I have to do is believe. The WORD I sent to my son was Matthew 24:36. “No one knows the time or the hour.” While it wasn’t too encouraging to him at the moment I reminded him that God has it all under control and that we need to keep living our lives for Jesus knowing that we have an eternal home. He later responded to my message with a “heart emoji”.

  15. Dorothy says:

Bessie H. all the churches and schools in the greater Kansas City area have been cancelled also.
Please pray for my son and his fiance, they just sold their house the first day it was on the market and the put a bid in on a house they like so pray they get the new one.

    1. Bessie H says:

I will pray for your son, Dorothy and your daughter, Churchmouse. May God, who goes before us, clear the way and answer our needs in a way that only He can do. He is so much bigger than this. The Lord of Hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge.

  16. Dorothy says:

This is one of my favorite verses and reminds me that one day I will be meeting my loved ones in Heaven because they believed and I believe. Yes there have times I have wondered why and even come close to doubting but I have never stopped believing. I have some family members that have stopped believing but my faith runs deep.

  17. Ramona says:

    Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your mercy. Thank you for giving your only Son Jesus Christ who died for my sins once and for all. Give me rest in your word to know the peace of your heart. Let me sit in the rumble and brokenness of this world and in myself. Let us all look hard and acknowledge our sins. Knowing our Victory is in your Son Jesus Christ our savior.

  18. K D says:

Amidst the uncertainty, may we hold onto our belief in a loving Father who is sovereign!

  19. Churchmouse says:

Taking this space today to express my gratitude for all who are doing their best to follow the guidelines for controlling the spread of Covid-19. I am in the higher risk group (over 60, immunosuppressed and with underlying health issues) and so the precautions others take directly impacts my ability to avoid or lessen this virus on my life. This is a time of hardship and uncertainty for many. My ability to help is restricted per my doctor’s recommendations. Prayer knows no boundaries and so I am committed to being faithful in going to the throne in intercession and petition. Please keep my family in your prayers – Children’s House may cancel elective surgeries which will directly impact our granddaughter Julia. Pray for our daughter Kristin and her husband as they are packed up to move to Alabama (the truck with their furniture has already left) and are to leave New Mexico on the 17th. Please pray the move goes as scheduled. An anxious time for many. Thank you.

    1. Janet Brown says:

Praying for you and your family. Thank you for all your encouraging posts.

    2. Nancy Stinson says:

Praying for our nation to repent and also for the specific requests you mentioned. I fall into the age bracket myself and have a son who has asked me to send him my grocery list instead of going myself. Thankfully trusting God during this time, Nancy

    3. Tess S says:

Praying for you and your family!

  20. Jenna says:

I really love Jesus’ interaction with Martha in this passage from John 11. Later on he says to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” (v. 40). In the midst of life’s chaos and brokenness, there is always more going on than meets the eye. Praying that we would see God’s glory in our lives, in our circumstances, and in our world in the days to come.

  21. Annette Kendall says:

I’m in Oregon and our churches have been shut indefinitely. We’re praying to be back together on Easter, even if it’s outside.

  22. Kara says:

The resounding message throughout the Bible is that we don’t need to fear because He is in control. We may not understand the circumstances we’re in, but neither do we need to panic, worry, stockpile, or shun our responsibility to our less fortunate neighbors.

I hope this crisis is an opportunity for the church to model our faith: that we don’t fear the forces of this world but we do fear Him. And for that we have peace.

    1. Mari V says:

      ❤️

    2. Julie Murray says:

  24. Bessie H says:

Our church is canceled for tomorrow. I am wondering how many have had their services canceled also? We are a small church in Virginia and while I think it is probably a good thing to do, I’m sad.

    1. Brenda Walsh says:

I believe all churches are cancelled around here in Michigan as well….for this weekend.

      1. Lynsey P says:

Most are here in Ohio as well. While it is sad, I believe it’s a great opportunity for families to stay in, pray and worship together, and rest.

      2. Rebekah C says:

Our church in the Seattle area is being forced to shut down, the solution is to encourage people who have small groups to meet in their homes on Sunday together and watch the message streamed from the internet together from their homes. That way, we still are able to gather.

      3. Julie Murray says:

I know our church in the Chicago suburb is cancelled but will be viewing online!

      4. Jen Brewer says:

Same here in Massachusetts. Any gathering of 250 or more banned though we do have service online.

    2. Jane K says:

I’m in a small town in Wisconsin and they haven’t decided yet to close down. I think they will by next Sunday. Our church too will be doing a live stream when or if they decide to close. Trying to decide if I should go or stay home.

  25. Bessie H says:

Yesterday we were talking about paying attention and choosing to follow the Lord. I was reminded of a sermon I heard about Lent. Lent is a reminder of Jesus going into the dessert for 40 days to pray in preparation for His ministry on earth. The text was Isaiah 40:3 which John the Baptist quoted. “Make straight in the desert a highway for our God’. Our Pastor talked about how God puts a highway through the desert for us to travel on. When we get distracted we wander off of the highway into the desert. We need ‘bumper pads’ on the highway to remind us when we nudge near the edge. That has stuck with me. God has made a path for us, even when it leads through a desert. We need to pay attention and not stray away from our God.

    1. Jane K says:

      Amen!

  26. Denise N says:

    Amen…..come Lord Jesus, come.
