Grace Day

Open Your Bible

James 1:5

Use this day to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him.
—James 1:5

Wisdom is an important thing to pray for, but it’s also important to pray for God’s will to be done. No matter what the circumstances, even if it’s not what we want— His will, His way is the path we should be on.

I couldn’t have read this at a better time. I woke up early with a lot on my mind and decided to talk to God and pray (while still in bed as I knew it was early). I prayed and asked God for guidance and wisdom for things that are coming up. And yes, I’m scared but I know one thing for sure God is with me. HE will give me the wisdom and the strength to do what I need to do. Thank you Jesus, for the reassurance and letting me know you are with me. I’m thankful for YOUR Word this morning.

I thank God for the reading of the word this morning. As I begin to take an inventory on my heart and mind; I’ve realized that I need God to give me so much wisdom in many areas of my life ,but especially a wisdom that will bring about a high level of discipline. I don’t want to be doubled minded as the scripture says in verse seven. I ask without doubting because I’ve seen what God has already done in my life. I must keep God first by making sure first thing in the morning when I wake up I spend my waking hours with the most high.

Read on, dear friends. Do not stop at verse 5 but read through verse 8. Do I need wisdom? Yes, I am surely to ask God for it. But first I am to check that my faith is in Him alone and that my loyalty is undivided. It is good to be reminded to do a heart and mind check before I pray.

I will do just that as I enter into my prayer time this morning. For family and friends (you all!) and for those who point the way and those who have authority over me and for those who are ill in any way and for myself. I ask for wisdom for all in all. I ask of the one true God who reigns over all.
