Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Psalm 46:1

Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Having an anxious heart and mind right now it’s just after 5 am. and been awake and can’t sleep. My mentor advised to start my quiet then and go back to bed if time allows. Good thing it’s Sunday and services starts at 11:00. Churchmouse I just reread your comment and it’s what I need right now. He will help. He will give me strength. He will be my safe place.

    1. Kylee says:

Mari, agreeing with you that He will give you strength, He will be your safe place, He will help you! And I am praying the anxiousness in your heart subsides, that worry would melt away and you would feel complete and at peace in the finished work of Jesus. When I think of the iniquities He bore on the cross, not simply physical ailments and sins but also mental anguish and frustration and worry and stress, THEN I know our savior can handle anything, even my anxiety. I pray you feel this assurance as well! You are never too much for Him!

Who doesn’t need refuge, strength and help? And who doesn’t need someone with the ways and means to do all that? So grateful that I can open my Bible or whisper a prayer and Someone shows up. His name is Jesus. He is my provider. Relief and wonder are found in Him. Praying that my Someone would become your Someone today. He will help. He will give you strength. He will be your safe place.

Something about your words here really burst through my haze and fog this morning and made our precious Lord and the relationship He offers us as His children so very real and clear to me, churchmouse. It just made sense. I appreciate you and your sharing here today. May you walk through this day feeling richly blessed and loved. Thank you!

  4. Tochi Heredia says:

I just read yesterday’s devotional and it hit very close to home.
Today is my birthday. Today is my first day in London (just moved here from Argentina). I am alone.
It’s so easy to believe that I’m left to my own devices, that He has abandoned me, that I made a mistake leaving my home and comfort behind to follow Him there.

But that isn’t true. He is always there, in the good times and in the bad times. He takes pleasure in loving us and He is our neverending strength, even when we feel we have none of our own left.

Prayers are appreciated, sisters. It’s a tough season for me and I need to stop panicking.
Lots of love from the UK!

    1. SB says:

    2. A pray lifted up as you adjust to your new city, Tochi!

    3. Yetunde Odutolu says:

Welcome to the UK Tochi, I pray good love and warmth around you. He doesn’t lead you where he doesn’t go and he always goes before you and paves the way for you.

I pray for strength, courage, boldness and Gods favour upon you his daughter. Have a wonderful birthday, rejoicing in the fathers love for you and anticipating the doors he will open for you as you draw your strength from him.

Hope UK welcomes you as it did me 18 years ago.

    5. Susan says:

Praying for you, my sister in Christ, as you are transitioning in your new place where God has lead you. And a huge Happy Birthday! What I see here is courage beyond belief to follow God’s leading and in doing so blessings will be yours! Oh how I long for that trust in my own life, to follow as He leads! He is with you always, even to the ends of the earth. Peace I pray for you and strength for the coming days. I have been inspired by you, thank you for sharing!

So grateful that I have a refuge in God. He is my Helper. In the past week, I grieved a lot as I went home for a family wedding. Grateful to have been there but missed my parents and sister.
Then I came to be offered a promotion and challenge. I’m excited but aware only in His strength will I succeed.

    1. churchmouse says:

Praying for you, Karen as you continue to grieve and also as you embark on this career challenge and promotion. Trusting that you feel His Presence and His Peace.
