Acts 9:1-19

Text: Acts 9:1-19

So you know the Paul we read about yesterday?  Today we’re taking a step back in time to learn more about his story.

The Saul we are reading about today is the same man we read about named Paul.  Have I completely confused you yet?

Talk about a fresh start—an amazing story of redemption and new beginning.

Let’s first look at how God used Paul, a changed man.  A man covered by grace from the Most High.

  • He took 3 long missionary journeys, planting churches, preaching the gospel and encouraging his fellow believers.
  • Paul had a gift of explaining the gospel in a way that resonates with us today just as it did many years ago.

Would you believe that this same man was at one time persecuting the believers?  Paul wasn’t just a non-believer, he was actively seeking out men and women who were following Christ: throwing them in jail or worse, killing them.

But God chose Him.  He met Saul and blinded him, so that he might see the truth.

Do you look at your past and believe the lies that you’re too messy to clean up?  Too broken to be fixed?  Are you struggling to believe that His grace and forgiveness covers whatever is in your past? Paul tells us later on in Ephesians 2:8 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-” [NIV]

It is a gift.  It is by grace.
There is nothing you can do to make Him love you more.
There is no sin too great for Him.
There is no stain He can’t wash away.

Saul was walking down a path of destruction: God met Saul where he was.

Ask Him today to meet you where you are.

He will.

It may not look the way you expect it to look—you may be blinded, so that you might see clearly.  Sister, there is a fresh start and a new beginning just waiting to be given to you.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. [Romans 8:38-39, NIV, emphasis added]

  2. imperfectlyimperfect says:

I love that Ananias had such great faith that, although he knew the reputation of Saul he still did what the Lord asked him to do. & I love that God chose to use such a man to testify to the world his redemption & God’s love & mercy.

Thank you Lord that nothing is impossible thru you!

  3. Joanne Sher says:

So powerful! Oh Lord, blind me that I may see You. And help me remember that you will meet me exactly where I am.

This is the verse that I chose for my baptism this Sunday! Ephesians 2:8 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-” [NIV] this is exactly the same verse that brought me to The Lord in January. So Paul's letters are still bringing followers to Christ today

Oh to serve a gracious God!

    Good Morning,
I'm still trying to hear from the Lord about this trial I must be in. I have be made to wait on financial aid and do nothing.I can't order my books nothing…so I'm getting behind in my class and I'm so full of questionsI I could have lied and tried to BS my way through my class but I've had to do that before because I didn't have the funds to but the textbook. So I'm learning about my intergrity and honesty through this….I took myself off all online dating sites and I won't go back either ..IT IS a SCAM any way if you really look at it. Does HE just want to spend time with me? and I'm freaking out?…I do have bills to pay…need this and that especially my car….I know the funds are coming..but it's the waiting ..will it be here today or it should be here today no..up and down that just drives you nuts! Thanks Ladies for just letting me tell my story..:} Karen

…………These words are music to my ears!! Our God is great! & to think that God blinded His child to help him see clearly in the end is astonishing. This is somewhat harsh but not harsh at all! God treats us like He did with Paul with much grace. Even the hardships we go through now are probably sprinkled with grace. Gods plans are master plans that have purpose and splendor. He knows what He is doing.

  10. Dannielle says:

Amen! <3 this! Definitely ready for my fresh new start! Me me here Lord…

  11. Rachel says:

This is so encouraging to me because it reminds me to never get weary in evangelism. You never know how or who God will use for good and he might use us to reach him. I struggle with giving over the control. I get discouraged when there are people I am trying to reach for him tat seem uninterested. But the fact is that, that is out of my control. He works in amazing ways and if. Those individuals are meant to know him and be his followers, they will, in His timing!

  12. Claudia says:

I loved this today!! I had a very rough 2012 and ONLY by the GRACE of GOD I made it through! I now know this to be oh so true!
    Thank you!

  13. Nora H says:

I love that story because it really lets all of us know that no matter what we have done or where we have been thru Christ all can be forgiven and He can and will use us in a mighty way!

  14. Valerie says:

God LITERALLY met Saul where he was. Even though I know God will meet me where I am, it takes a while for me to remember that. This was a perfect reminder. I've been so wrapped up in dark, negative thinking the past day or so, more or less telling myself that I am not worthy of love. God will meet me where I am. He stands waiting for me to walk with Him. God is Love, and He is ALWAYS there waiting on me. How can I tell myself I am not worthy of love when the Lord has given me such a gift as grace?! Thank you, Lord, for bringing me to this passage today. What a light it has shed on my own twisted way of thinking. We know You will meet us just where we are, as we are, Heavenly Father, but I pray that we accept Your hand and walk with You always.

  15. Alice says:

This is so refreshing. Just wen you start thinking “what type of a person am I” or how could so and so do such a thing, this message reassures me that God is a God of change. God is capable of changing you, your husband, your friend, your mum, your sister etc to the point where you don’t even recognise this person before. Praise be to God.
How wonderful it is that we can have hope in this and HOPE in God for greater things and for a fresh start. Only He can bring an everlasting new beginning.
I am definitely looking to God for a fresh start!
    Have a blessed day

  16. manuela says:

i surrender all to you daddy Lord…make me whole again.

  17. Rachael says:

Wow! I loved today’s post. God is amazing. I love how he just put Saul in his place.

  18. Joanna says:

It so amazes me when I think that God even loves me after all the things I have done, the sin in my life. But God's gift and love is just so awesome and I can't even put into words how thankful I am.

  19. Ellis G. says:

I have been so blessed by the sharing of burdens and blessings on this site. Our God is a great and awesome God that hears each one of our concerns and gives us the answer in a myriad of ways. Praise him..Jesus our blessed redeemer!”

  20. nichole says:

amazing! thank you Jesus, i love you and want to be better for you!

  21. Stacey says:

Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for my sins so that I may live free. Thank you for revealing goodness, for testing my faith, for showing me all You have created, planned, and have written. In Jesus name, Amen.

  22. Mary Helen says:

Needed this today. Looking at my fresh start. I know I cannot do this- He must work in me. I just have to want it, be truly willing to change.

  23. Shanell says:

Saul was persecuting the church; it was said that he would even kill. In the scripture it says that there is away that seemth right to a man but the end thereof is distruction! Well, when Jesus meet Saul on that Road He destroyed Saul quest to persecute and put him in a place of restoration for His namesake; and PAUL never looked back or went back to whohe once was! When our Lord God speaks and the Holy Spirit comes in, there is no turning back! Amen

  24. MacKenzie says:

Hi ladies! I’ve thoroughly been enjoying these devotionals with you all! Thank you for sharing and blessing others! I wanted to ask your prayer for baby Eliana. She was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck twice, which meant she wasn’t breathing or her heart bearing for the first 9-12 minutes of her life. However, her name means “God answers prayer”, and is that ever prophetic!! She is alive and getting excellent treatment! She has has some seizures because of the lack of oxygen to her brain. She also is having a hard time sleeping since birth, because they have to keep her cold, so her brain doesn’t swell any. Her parents have been strong in the Word and in their trust in God. God is receiving ALL the glory in this situation. Praying for a miraculous recovery!

    1. Natalie says:

I realize that this is late, but I will pray for her and her parents!

  25. A PEACH IN ITALY says:

I've always wondered if Paul felt guilt for persecuting Christians prior to finding Christ. At times he might have, but I bet he remembered God's grace and that he was forgiven, despite his past. I have a hard time doing this myself. At times I think my faults are too great, my past is too messy to be fixed and forgiven. I forget grace.
God, help me to remember that your grace is sufficient, and you love me despite my past and my faults. No sin is too great for you.

  26. Tammy says:

It’s just do amazingly liberating to know that there is nothing we can do to make him live us more or less! Thank you Jesus!

  27. rocknitat55 says:

    Thank God for no seperation!

  28. sashaa says:

Today's reading is very powerful and speaks to me loud and clear. I have just ended a 3-year engagement… my heart was broken.. I was in so much pain… Just like Paul, I was blinded so that I may see clearly.. this pain and heartache are God's way to open up my eyes… and now I can see… very clearly… I am getting baptized this Sunday… Thank you God for your grace and love.. and there is no ocean too deep, mountain too high and sin too great that will separate us.. I love you Jesus…

    1. Tsalached says:

      Wow, powerful! Be blessed .

  29. Torie says:

Something I gleamed from today's devotion was that not only will God meet me where I am but He will also use where I've been. Our past mistakes and failings can be made into something God can use for His glory. Our stories become His stories.

Also, a fresh start can happen every day if we need it to (which we do!). Lamentations 3:22-23 says, "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." His mercies are new every morning. Praise the Lord! :)

    1. robin says:

Tirie your message really touch my spirit'as I'm dealing with faith,I need a freah start in this area I been praying on it that I apply it to my life daily .

    2. robin says:

      Sorry I meant torie

  30. Cynthia says:

You don’t appreciate the sunshine until you have had nothing but rain. We sometimes think we are seeing just fine until we run into a wall.

Like Saul we think we are doing right but it is for the wrong reasons. The Bible tells us that we all think we are right in our own eyes (Proverbs 21:2). The verse goes on to say …but God ponders the heart.

This is what determines “right” and ” wrong”. Like Saul we have to be careful and guard our heart. Once Saul was stopped in his tracks, he could hear and see straight.

I thank God for loving me enough to knock me off my horse, having a talk with me, and directing me down the path or sending someone my way so I could see and hear clearly.

  31. Krystal says:

Do you look at your past and believe the lies that you’re too messy to clean up? Too broken to be fixed? Are you struggling to believe that His grace and forgiveness covers whatever is in your past? Paul tells us later on in Ephesians 2:8 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-” [NIV]

This part of the study stands out to me the most. I have believed lies that I am still stained with the sins of my past, I have continued to feel guilt for the areas I've fallen short. I love this verse and it's redemptive message. It brings me peace and makes me feel a little closer to the God who does love and forgive. I used to think I wasn't worth being forgiven but I've come to realize even through the mess I've lived through he loves me just the same. And, even more so since I've turned my heart and my life back over to him.

    1. Kacia says:

Praying with and for you, Krystal!

  32. Sue says:

Thank you God for abundant grace and love. I don’t know where I would have been without them!
My prayers are with each of you, my SRT sisters.

  33. Sue says:

SRT Ladies, your comments always lend me new inspirations…Thank you. I loved so many comments- Brandy’s and Dea’s really hit home forme

  34. ConcretenGrace says:

I never looked at Pauls story in the light of grace. How amazing is God's grace that he not only forgave the very man who was persecuting his sons and daughters, but he gave him a new life…heck even a new name to seal the deal! That man is now known as one of the great men of the bible…imagine that. One day he's killing God's people and the next Christians are reading his words that God gave him!

Looking at my life and my mistakes in comparison to Pauls makes things seem a little less hopeless. I know that no sin is greater than another…and I am just as guilty as he was…but God forgave him, and gave him a COMPLETE fresh start.

My heart is longing for that fresh start. I am so tired of being so tired. I miss the joy I had in my relationship with God…I miss hearing his whispers and feeling his heart beat. Even though I know his grace covers all…it sure seems like a long Journey back.

  35. Crystal says:

The reading today brought to mind the song "Home" by Phillip Phillips. In particular these lyrics…
"Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
    They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found"

You can always be found! No matter what your past is, where your road has gone. You can always find a new way if you let God in. Another thing that struck me from the reading and a lot of you ladies picked up on it as well, the fact that Saul (Paul) didn't know it was God talking to him but Ananias did. I too want that kind of relationship with the Lord.

  36. Tonya says:

It's been 13 months since The Lord delivered me out of a life of sinful addiction; and while I am so grateful, I still struggle with my past. It's such a comforting encouragement to know that God is bigger than anything we might've done and that He has a plan for us… Jeremiah 29:11 tells me so!

  37. Bianca says:

Reading today's devotional was eye opening as I never studied the history of Paul. Which leads me to shout…..God chose this man to be an ambassador for him. One of the greatest teachers of God's word. A man that received the grace and mercy of the Lord. How awesome is that! I often think that my past is/was a curse but God met me where I was and his love has saved me and provided for me in so many ways!

  38. LaToya says:

Praise Him sisters! I thank God for His awesome grace. I’m so thankful to have a Savior that saved us from our sins. To cleanse and keep us. Without grace, we would still be under the law. God bless!

  39. Acacia says:

Today reading that no sin is too big for Gods love rings in my heart, for Him to use someone who was so against Christians and for Ananias to just go when God spoke to him and forgive Saul is amazing.. Just what I needed.

  40. Jeanette says:

This passage truly exemplifies the meaning of “fresh start. ” it is never too late to experience one. Praying for each of you today. :)

  41. LindaG says:

Brother Saul. Can you imagine how Saul felt when he heard those words? What a faithful servant was Ananias. I would have 35 different excuses to The Lord and 5 good rationalizations to myself to get out of that scary situation. Ananias was like Esther: If I perish, I perish.

Because he was so obedient Ananias was part of a miracle of healing–not just Saul’s sight, but most likely of his broken and repentant heart. How many of us need an Ananias to come alongside us now? I know I could sure use one!

    1. martina says:

Linda, I am praying the Lord sends you an Ananias to come alongside you:) may your eyes be opened to see who that is!

  42. Cassidy says:

I loved reading this passage this morning! It stood out to me that God made the point to Ananias that Paul was his chosen instrument to bring the gospel to the Gentiles and other non-believers. God had a specific calling and mission for Paul, just as he does for our lives! Who is He calling us to bring the good news to? I pray that I am obedient in following His calling!

  43. Ellen MR says:

Greetings Sisters! I’m soo glad to say I’m starting this day, this fresh start I have been blessed with today, from a whole different perspective than I had yesterday! Thanks to all of you!! I can’t Thank you enough for your prayers- I actually FELT myself lifted up to our Lord by your prayers!! I have never felt anything like that before! And when I went back and saw your posts, I knew WHY I was feeling so light, like I was about to burst! I tried to write a Thank you then, but couldn’t describe what I was feeling…so THANK YOU!!! And I praise our Lord for saving me- AGAIN!!! Yesterday I felt the light and love of my sisters, and you are all definitely great Ambassadors for our Father!! :)
Thank you Jesus for meeting me in my darkness and by your grace, bringing me out into the light again! Thank you for filling me with your light and your love! Thank you for loving me so much!! The reading today REALLY makes me believe that I’m not too messy to be cleaned up, that I can be forgiven. Maybe, just maybe I can forgive myself. Because if You believe I’m worth it…then I must be!?!
Love and Blessings to you Sisters!! Have a beautiful day!

    1. Vickie says:

Praise Him! You have been washed in the precious blood of Jesus. You are white as snow. Enjoy Him today.

  44. TMichelle says:

Today it is the statement "My grace is sufficient"! The question was asked if we hold on to our past. No sin is too great! My mind immediately went to the fact that our past does not necessarily mean something that happened 5 or 10 years ago. Our past can be as early as 2 days ago. Do we hold on to it? Do we think our sin is too great for God-that He will never forgive? His grace is sufficient! No need for pity parties, tears, overcompensating or or the like. ACCEPT His grace and mercy! It's one thing to repent, but we must also accept. He already paid the price! This ministered to my current circumstances and I continue to grow each day!

    1. Nance says:

      Me too!

  45. AChic72 says:

I take two great things from today's reading. First, that even though I feel like there are some things in my past that are just "too messy to be cleaned up" I need to remember that God loves me no matter what. I can't let my past get in the way with my growing relationship with God and his love. Second, I've got some forgiving to do for deep hurts that I still struggle with today. I want to work on getting to the first level – where I can at least forgive that person in my mind so that I don't spend time dwelling in negativity and resentment. I really want to let that go.

  46. lisabethjean says:

Love, love, LOVE what's been reiterated in the post & comments that NO ONE is unreachable by God's love.

How joyful to have a Saul-life transformed by God's grace into a Paul-life!

I'm praying today for a dear young man who is in a legal battle because of poor moral decisions he's made the past few years. May he know God's love & forgiveness; and I pray for mercy & leniency from the court.

    1. Nance says:

How are you earning your points?

  47. Emily says:

I praise you God this morning. Sugar free…..and stating to feel better on the whole. My husband is going along fine and liking that i am cooking and he's asking for seconds for the paleo meals.
but I do ask for prayer for him. He may have this virus that is going around, which may be man made…but that's another story. It's just very hard to treat as he's not responding to the usual treatments of certain supplements (I don't believe in western medicine). So if I may ask for healing for my dear husband Bill of 33 years.
    Emily

  48. Jess F. says:

This reminds me of the song where the lyrics go, "what if the trials in this life are Your mercies in disguise." Praise Jesus for His grace and mercy and for allowing us to walk through fires to come.out more refined and equipped to make a difference for Him. "Count it all joy (sisters), when we face trials and temptations of many kinds.." James 1:2. I'm so thankful for what God is doing in my life!

  49. Brendalyn says:

i soo need this today. everyonce in a while i pull back and forth with this struggle with my job, some times is gets to me so bad that i wanna take matter into my own hands but i have to just rely on God to be my everything for eveything that I need always!!

  50. Brandi says:

Father, I'm so thankful that You found me on my road to Damascus! That You loved me so much and that You shone Your light all around me! Thank You for showing me Yourself! Your love, power, holiness, and grace! I praise You Father because in You there is no darkness at all!

  51. Erika says:

This is my favorite day by far. I was very sin-sick about two years ago–and He met me in a very big way. I always love Paul’s story of redemption because it reminds me of my own. I am so blessed by this today for the reminder that “it is a gift. It is by grace. There is nothing you can do to make him love you more.” I just have to love Him, believe and be…and He loves me.

    Thank you. Blessings.

    1. Nance says:

I love your comment and take it to heart!

      1. Nance says:

Especially the "be" part. He loves it when we "be" in His presence!

  52. Candacejo says:

Linda I will pray for your friend as well! I have just reconnected with a childhood friend who has been away from The Lord for close to 30 years. She has so much bitterness and anger at others and readily admits that she judges and watches their lives for any little slip up and has used that as an excuse all these years for not serving God! We had a long heart-to-heart this week and I was able to even be honest with her and let her know that the bitterness was literally destroying her soul. And wouldn't she rather have that peace with our God when she laid her head on her pillow at night and let all of these past hurts go and instead walk with HIM in peace! She admitted she would but her struggle is emotions and that one moment of repentance and giving it all to God. I offered to pray with her, and I know we are almost there, so please help me pray sisters for my friend too, she is so desperate and lonely, divorced for 30 years. Redemption!! Bless you all for your kindness!

  53. Julia says:

    I am saved. I believe.

  54. Steph says:

Linda i will be thinking and praying for your friend. Before i was saved i was in her exact same position. I needed this fresh reminder that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ. I need strength and prsyer believing this truth, because so often i feel i have failed too much to receive anyones grace

  55. Glenda says:

This is such a wonderful message of redemption and forgiveness. My bible study taught from this same message last night.

  56. Linda says:

I was just talking to a friend who has been raised in a Christian home but has been so lost for so long. She comes and goes with such fervor on each end and its caused me to become frustrated for her. I know it’s because she feels unworthy and just a couple days ago she told me how she has just felt as though she has lost who he is and has no idea how to find it.

How awesome is it that God can help us loose our way so he can show is what we were meant for. How he can see us! Not how we feel about ourselves and what we deserve. We all deserve death and separation but he has always kept hope for us. Thank you father. Thank you my scales were shed early and help me to have the faith on Anias. Because sometimes I think huh… This is too much work but obviously God has a plan for my friends life and if he hasn’t given up on either of us then I should never give up. Please pray for my friend.

    1. Brandi says:

Praying for you both! Father, give Linda Your wisdom as she ministers to her friend! And I pray Father that her friend would be drawn to Your wonderful love and grace! I pray she would truly come to know You as Savior and Lord of her life. I pray that You would allow both of these women to see themselves as You see them. I pray these things in the awesome Name of Jesus, Amen.

    2. Emily says:

And please note, Christian home or not, one really doesn't know what went on. Sin, is almost always a symptom of pain somewhere. As an imperfect parent I have chosen to apologize for my errors many times over, as satan loves ones thing….an unrepentant heart. Not to say you shouldn't have boundaries with your friend, but just know…you never really know ;)

    3. Krista says:

Nothing is too big for God. I was raised in a Christian home and later strayed far away from God. I struggled with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, cutting, sexual promiscuity, and general rebellion. God used many people along the way to bring me back to Him. He also used pain in my life to help me see the Truth and return to Him. I had many people who never gave up on me and continued to pray. Now I am a glorious example of God's mercy, grace and love and I am so burdened to share it with others who are hurting and are far away from God. I want them to know the joy and peace I have found. Don't give up on your friend. God loves your friend more than you do and has a plan for her life. Pray for how God can use you to help bring her back to Him. Also, remember that God can use many people to help your friend and that your job may only be to plant some seeds in her life which may not blossom until years later. God DOES have a plan for your friend's life and you are a part of it.

  57. Carie says:

There is nothing that can separate us….some days you just need to hear this truth fresh and anew. I’ve heard this verse my whole life but I just needed the reminder of that promise today!

  58. Nance says:

I want to post one more thing, God lifted all my anger, and all my fear, and all my worry, and all my doubt about my past after I really got down on my knees and asked Him to search my heart and pray for forgiveness and ACCEPT(cause for so long I didn't think I was worthy of His forgiveness, but I do not believe it anymore because His Words say I AM FORGIVEN AND WASHED CLEAN BY HIS BLOOD AND I CAN GO TO MY FATHER GOD THROUGH JESUS CAUSE MY FATHER GOD SEES ME WHITE AS SNOW AND LOVES ME SO MUCH HIS SON DIED FOR ME ON THE CROSS AND BECAME SIN WHEN HE WAS SINLESS SO WE COULD BE SINLESS!!!!
His Forgiveness! This has been a process going on for a while and is continuing everyday and Fresh Start is so PERFECT!

  59. Marisa says:

Grace, grace, God's grace, grace that will pardon and cleanse within; grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that is greater than all our sin! This hymn is what came to mind as I was reading this morning. Ananias' obedience also stuck out to me as well. Even though he did question he still had obeyed immediately!

  60. Nance says:

Wow!!!! today's reading was so powerful for me especially where do you believe the lies of the past. I'm not living in my past ways anymore, but the negative angry me was always just under the surface of my pretend calm so no one would see all the hurt, but for about, we'll really since A friend of mine was posting quotes from The Bible on Facebook.I wanted a deeper relationship with The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Those postings led me to She Reads Truth and Wow what an EXCITING AND GLORIOUS DAILY WALK I AM ON WITH MY TRIUNE GOD! Just this morning before I read today's lesson Romans 8:38-39 was on my heart. 62. Abi says:

Ananias caught my attention as well. The thing that really struck me about his role was that he immediately recognised that it was God speaking with him. Saul had to question, but Ananias knew! I want to be there in my relationship with the Lord.

Have an awesome day, sisters, as we allow God to work out this fresh start in our lives.

  63. Dea says:

    Good Morning Sisters,

2 things stood out to me…As previously mentioned, the obedience of Ananias. It shows us that one persons obedience to God, may give to life of another person.

The second point, God met Saul where he was only to blind him so that he could see the truth…What an AMAZING concept!

God loves us so much that we don’t have to be perfect for Him to use us.

    Be Blessed Fresh Start Sisters!

    1. martina says:

Dea, I loved your phrase:"one person's obedience to God may give life to another person." When it can seem like our little lives don't amount to much, this is a real encouragement. "Our little becomes much when we place it in the Master's hand"

    2. Kacia says:

Yes! I too love Ananias's faith! I cannot imagine the strength and trust it took for him to obey – and he did it!

  64. Heather says:

His love for us is just amazing. That He could see past the things that Saul did to Christians and use him to better the kingdom. I know that sometimes I struggle with forgiveness, especially when one of my children are attacked in some way. For Jesus to speak to Saul & know that through him so many would hear about the Saving grace of Jesus Christ and the love that he has for us is just amazing. As I was reading the devotion this morning the song “Oh how He loves us” by The David Crowder Band filled my mind.

God use me-take these scales from my eyes so that I might see the plans you have for me to strengthen you kingdom.Thank you Lord for the fresh start you have given all of us through the cleansing blood of your son, Jesus Christ.

    1. jesusgirl71 says:

      Love that song!

  65. Gail says:

Yes. God does have a plan for each and every one of us…all His creation. Ananias did question God, but he listened, believed and obeyed ! God uses us in so many different ways to help each other, in the spreading of His word. Yes, ambassadors ! Heavenly Father, help us to hear and respond promptly to your call. Amen.

  66. Jacquie says:

What struck me is, what if Ananias refused to obey when God told him to share the gospel with Saul. I want to learn to have that kind of obedience to the Holy Spirit. To believe God can and will redeem anyone and that He can do it through me.

    1. helen says:

I solo thought of Ananias too! Saul was out to kill him! Oh to have that kind of faith.

      1. helen says:

Meant to say sooo not solo

  67. Ingrid says:

    Thank you Jesus..

  68. Wilma says:

I was so excited when I read today's piece.. Whenever I explain God's grace to somebody I always use the example of Saul becoming Paul by the Grace of God. Oh, Jesus loves us even in our sin.. Look what He has done for Saul (Paul), even when Saul was busy killing and persecuting the Christians.. Jesus already had a plan …. GRACE… I am so humbled by our loving Jesus. He loves US just as much that He will meet us exactly where we are, our sin's and all.. Grace Grace….

Thank you for reminding us that Jesus loves us and ACCEPTS us with our mess and sin because HE did not die in vain.. Jesus thank you that YOU love me just the way I am and that you remind people who judge that you met Paul and changed him and he became one of the most powerful ambassadors for YOU because of YOUR grace and love, just so you do the same for us, because YOU just love us so so much. God's plan from the beginning.

We are blessed! What a gift.

    1. Kacia says:

      So beautifully said, Wilma!
