“Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:21-22‬ ‭NLT‬‬
not 7 times but 70 times 7 that’s a lot of times but that’s what we should do. we are commanded to forgive.

  2. mel b says:

the parable of the lost sheep is good. it makes me think of the song reckless love by cory asbury. the lyrics – Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine. the Lord will leave the 99 to find me. i’m that one. that’s amazing!

  3. Laura Glenn says:

So many powerful themes in this Matthew passage!

  4. Amy Soaki says:

“18Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Could this relate to marriage? I know the Bible doesn’t really speak on being married in heaven. ❤️

  5. Karen Collins says:

35 So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.” – Matthew 18:35

  12. Britt Clark says:

we are tempted for a reason; Jesus was tempted many times yet he did not fall… how? Well, Jesus prayed to God and started speaking the word. So when you are tempted pray to God, speak his word, and think of how horrible hell would be and how awesome heaven is

  13. Mary Katherine Lodick says:

I’m a teacher, and I was honestly having a rough morning, wishing I didn’t have to work today, and then these verses about caring for and protecting children were the daily reading. I love when God sends me exactly the verses I need to be reminded of to be strong.

God’s attention to detail is so cool! Even in the description of the tabernacle, you can see his detailed heart.

    1. Jessica Phillips says:

Yes! I was just thinking this! I’m like wow! God is so smart! He knew every measurement and it worked! It is so amazing. How much more does He put everything in place for our life, although we may not understand the meaning or reasoning, it is all for a purpose! And the bigger picture is just amazing!!

  20. Anecia Ascalon says:

Does anyone else find it difficult to read through all the descriptions about building the tabernacle?

    1. Ashley Pessolano says:

      Yesssss!!

    2. Emily Milcent says:

On right now media, there’s a study with Ashley McNary and she reads through all of the chapters but shows a visual of what it all looks like. The study is just called Exodus and is very helpful!

  23. Victoria O says:

I really took a lot from the parable of the unforgiving servant today. A great reminder of what it means to truly forgive – not by standards or human forgiveness.

  24. Sarah Johnson says:

It’s amazing the mercy God has shown us in forgiving us. But I feel convicted now as the unmerciful servant. Am I forgiving and showing mercy to others with my whole heart and for the right reasons? As a follower of Christ, I must forgive more times than seems humanly possible and with a pure heart. This will help to show others the love of God in me and through me.

  25. Brooke Lanter says:

God will provide more then what we need to accomplish his will. We must only believe.

  26. Vanessa Giardinello says:

It is important to discover the purpose and gifts God has given and to use them to the best of our ability.

I couldn’t earn it, I don’t deserve it, still you give yourself away.
Oh the overwhelming, never ending reckless love of God”
    -Reckless love by Cory Asbury

    1. Bailey Hults says:

Thought of that too! Such a powerful message. God surely chased me down, he brought me out of terrible relationships and an eating disorder and reminded me of my identity in Him! PRAISE JESUS THE GOOD SHEPHERD!

  32. RACHEL DORMAN says:

My first say on this reading plan is complete! I need to make this a priority in my life. Looking forward to doing this and being here.

  33. JoAnn Foley-DeFiore says:

10“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.”
    What an amazing thought!❤️

  34. Sarah Knickerbocker says:

It is so important we continue to work on ourselves. Each time we fall astray God remains there for us, so why would we not be there for those who have wronged us? We all sin, we all make mistakes, but it takes a strong person living out God’s will to forgive and forgive fully.

  35. Isabel M. says:

This verse was deep and most definitely convicted me.

35“This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”

It is not enough to say you forgive the person and their offense, but you will need to have a change of heart towards that person as well. Help me to truly forgive from my heart, Lord!

  37. Corina Balta says:

  38. Dayn says:

Can anyone explain those three chapters on Exodus? What were we supposed to get from reading that?

    1. Elizabeth says:

What I took away from it was that God is a Master craftsman and he gives skill and talent to individuals to fulfill his purpose and plan. I look at how God was involved in every minor detail of preparing the temple and I am reminded of how God also refers to us as being a temple for the Holy Spirit, and how David says in Psalms 139 , “you knit me together in my mother’s womb” . He knows every detail of the temple he created within us. He takes that much care in developing who we are ❤️

    2. Haley Elmendorf says:

Sometimes I don’t think it’s about “getting” something. We run into trouble when we look at the Bible like a transaction that’s supposed to give us something in return for reading it. I think it’s about learning what God did for these people and the direction he showed them, the covenant he made good on, etc. While not directly applicable to everyday life, it should show us that he is faithful to his word and his people.

  39. Stephanie says:

Someone asked back when the people left Egypt why God had them plunder the Egyptians by asking them for gold, silver, and clothing. This must be why! A nation of slaves surely would not have had so much to give.

    1. Heidi says:

I remember that comment. That makes so much sense. Thanks for connecting that!

  40. Sarah says:

    Typo — no them/their. Yikes.

  41. Sarah says:

Always be kind to children. How easily people take them for granted in the kingdom of God and overlook their importance. them. their

  42. Amanda says:

27 ‘And the lord of that slave felt compassion and released him and forgave him the debt.’ – this passage speaks to me. There is someone I know who owes me a great deal of money. Now I know what I need to do. I need to forgive them.

  43. Blakers says:

Love this from verse 7- need to remember that God always always provides more than enough then and now- work.now–

    1. Blakers says:

Yikes, typo- 7 because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.

  44. Courtney says:

I loved reading the part about having more than enough provisions to build the alters…reminded me that I have more than enough in God’s name!

  45. StephanieB says:

Thank you Coop for the link! That helped a lot !

  46. Amanda says:

We are forgiven. Yet it is so hard for us to forgive when we are hurt. Lord soften my heart. Teach me to forgive like you do

    1. Kelsey says:

      Amen!

    2. Paulina says:

This clicked for me today! Sometimes we forget how amazingly forgiven Jesus has been with us

  47. Lilly says:

I really think Exodus clicked for me today. God asked that something be done with such detail and specificity that to me it seemed impossible to be perfect. That’s when it hit me that The Lord gave these men the tools, skills, and materials they needed to complete the task at hand. He wasn’t abandoning them. What a great reminder that if we are asked to do something He will be with us through it all!

    1. Hayle Hullett says:

Lilly absolutely love your point of view! Thanks for sharing, what you said opened my eyes.

    2. Georgina says:

      Thank you for this!

    3. Ginnyb9464 says:

I have to admit, today’s reading in Exodus seemed so redundant. They seemed to keep repeating all the instruction that was already given. I found myself almost skimming some of the verses. Then I come to this thread and see it in a whole other light. I cannot tell you what this forum has done for my ability to hang in with the daily reading. It provides such insight on the days that are harder reads for me. I feel like God asked me to do this and has now provided everything that I need to follow through. Thank you all for each of your comments. You have enriched my absorption 150%. Have a very blessed day!

      1. Bri says:

Same!! I didn’t get it at all and then I switched over to the comments and everyone’s jnput has helped me too!

  48. Savannah says:

The exodus passage really clicked for me today. The things I noticed
    1. Everything was done exactly the way God commanded! They did everything down to the tiniest detail the way God wished! I hope to be able to follow God’s directions for me like that
    2. In 38:8, the bronze came from the women’s mirrors. They gave up their objects of worldly beauty for heavenly beauty, just like I should turn to God’s slandered of beauty, not the world’s.
    3. God gave the them the means to supply exactly the amount of materials needed to complete the work. Even though they gave as they saw fit, it was exactly the right amount. God truly oversees every detail!
    So many good things!!

    1. Savannah says:

      *standard

    2. Tarnz says:

Wow I like the point 2 never noticed it before great insight, thank you

  49. Mikyla says:

I’m struggling to understand the parable of the unmerciful servant in Matthew 18:21-35. Despite growing up hearing the bible all my life, I love finding new stories or new lessons and details that can be found all throughout the bible.

  50. Shayna Dobbins says:

I was so convicted by the Holy Spirit when I read Jesus’s words about the HUGE debt forgiven, yet the servant wouldn’t forgive the little debt. I realize that I’ve denied forgiveness in my heart to others but expect God to forgive me. It doesn’t work like that. I have to get on my knees and ask for some serious forgiveness and give much as well.

  51. Laura says:

I so love reading the comments from everyone. So many times I struggle to understand the details and you are providing what I was missing. Thank you for answered prayers…

    1. Jennifer says:

I agree! Great insight from others.

  52. Hesaved83 says:

The colors; purple (royalty, majesty , sovereignty, omnipotence), blue (heavenly, Deity, Godhead, omniscience) , white (righteousness, purity)…reminds me of some of the colors in The Book of Esther’s feast. The red in this being blood of Jesus, etc.

  53. Kaily says:

    Helped a lot coop, thanks!

  54. Emily says:

Has someone drawn a picture of this whole scene? Or created a life like replica? I wish I could visualize it!

      1. Becky says:

Thanks for the link! It was really helpful to see it.

  55. Linda says:

8 They made the bronze basin and its bronze stand from the mirrors of the women who served at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
Ah, finally! Women working at the tent! Hmmm, and they gave their mirrors. More important to make the basin than seeing what we look like? Great reminder of our priorities!

    1. Ali says:

      Good observation!

  56. Antimony says:

Exodus 36:6 “So Moses issued a command, and a proclamation was circulated throughout the camp, saying, “Let no man or woman any longer perform work for the contributions of the sanctuary.” Thus the people were restrained from bringing any more”. They were giving too much! Can you imagine?

  57. Anna says:

After today’s reading I think we can all agree that God cares about the details! He also works out all of the details. Need a skilled worker to build the tabernacle? No problem, I’ll stir in their hearts & gave them the skills. Let us never doubt that God cares about the details & He works them out.

    1. Ashley says:

      I love this!

  58. Amy says:

By the parable of the unmerciful servant I have a note in my bible: Isaiah 43:25: “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for My own sake, and remembers your sins no more”.

I become better at forgiving when I realize how much has already been forgiven in me. Thank You, God!

  59. Kate Bee says:

I love God explicitly using artists and craftsmen to build his tabernacle, to worship by creating something beautiful. I wish that the church today had a use for its artists.

    1. Jamie Moon says:

Don’t worry, friend. There is a growing number of churches out there who truly believe the church should be at the forefront of art and design because we have inspiration from THE creator! Exodus 35 is one of the core scriptures for our creative team. I think the movement is growing. It’s beautiful to see our artists and builders get to contribute and it has brought many people to church who wouldn’t normally feel welcome.

      1. Deb says:

Thanks for this…I had not thought of it bringing in so many people who ordinarily would not be comfortable in this setting.

  60. Amy says:

I am having a hard time with all the detail lately BUT it is a powerful reminder to me that our Lord appreciates a job well done and God isn’t only the God of the big picture but God of the small picture too.

    1. Sarah says:

It astounds me that the God of creation would stoop to care about every little detail of my life, my mood, my circumstances. Not that He’ll make the easy, but just to know He cares. I’m in awe at all of this detail as well, it makes me think of 1 Peter 5:7, ” cast your cares on Him, because he cares for YOU. ” these passages in exodus are a true reminder that He does care about all of our intimate details.

  61. Mic says:

Amazing to read that Moses had to stop the offerings from coming in because they had more than enough to do all the work.

May our hearts be so in tune with God’s will that we would give all that we have to give glory to God (that we would need no convincing to give more and more.)

  62. Lydia says:

5 and they said to Moses, “The people are bringing much more than enough for the construction work which the Lord commanded us to perform.”

The beauty of this astounds me. Moses hired the best, skillful people whose HEARTS were stirred to join the work! Once they did, the heart of the entire nation was moved to offer the best for the establishment of the work of the Lord.
    ***
35 ‘My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.”

Cut to this heart-gripping passage. 70×7 means that we are reminded of all of which we have been forgiven, and extend that grace and humility to others. It does not negate the wrong, but it does remove permission to hold offense and punish.

  63. Natasha says:

I love the phrase ‘whose heart stirred’ in those first lines of today. I think it appeared a few times in yesterday’s reading too. Reminds me how important the state of our heart is when we rise to the challenges and callings of life. If we just do things from our heads we are not really giving our all. Also reminds me how I need to listen to my heart more when I feel I ‘should’ say yes to something, but my heart is luke warm about it. Let’s be women who pay close attention to what stirs our hearts (and also notice what doesn’t) :)

    1. Malissa Lindberg says:

      Amen! That is so good!

    2. Jennifer says:

      Yes!
