    A reminder that, regardless of how I have felt you never left God Dash you never wandered off to do your own thing – that is powerful wording, translation, as if you were just waiting for a chance to slip away from my demanding character, but you were always patiently there by my side, listening to my attempts to make sense of it all. New paragraph everyone is on the hunt for God Dash searching! It’s a part of this great life, those who thought it was in power: those who thought it was in poverty: those who never got it together enough: and every thing in between all here together praising and joyful!

  4. Louann Brace says:

    A wonderful reminder that regardless of how I have felt, YOU have never left, God – you never “wandered off to do your own thing.”

  17. Britt Clark says:

    When we truly take time to create and grow a relationship with Jesus, the desires of our hearts change into pleasing and acceptable things to the Lord. That is why the Lord says he will give us the desires of our hearts. Many people read that verse and they wonder why so many things in their life did not happen even as they were praying to God daily and reading their Bible and going to church. Sometimes the Lord does not give us everything we want because he knows that it will not cause the goodness we need in our lives

    In all seasons may we also say “yet you are holy.”

  36. Jessie Lamb says:

    I just wanted to share that I saw so many connections between what David was saying in this Psalm and Jesus at the cross. Was this foreshadowing in a way? Some of the things I noticed : “My God, My God why have you forsaken me?” And the piercing of hands and feet. And the drawing lots for the garments.

    1. Brooke Hume says:

      I noticed that as well!

      I noticed this too as I read it today! I need to read it in my study Bible now.

  46. SarahMay says:

    Praying this last verse over your family, Ann, and all our sisters in need of a miracle, that,
    Ps22:31 They will come and tell a people yet to be born about His righteousness —what He has done.
    God is faithful. Praying for you all today, that we would look for things in our life to proclaim to those yet unborn!

    Dear Lord. Please go to Ann right now. Cover her household. You said in your word that the trying of our faith develop patience. lord, they are in trying times right now and need you more than ever right now. Give her mother and father the strength to persevere. Remind them of your word to not worry about what they will eat or drink tomorrow because you will sustain and have always sustained them even in these trying times. We praise you now for the blessings that you will bestow upon this family and for hearing and answering the prayers of the righteous. In Jesus name. Amen.

  52. Ann says:

    Hi guys, this has nothing to do with this scripture. I’m just in desperate need for prayer. I don’t know how many will see this post or if anyone will but I desperately need prayer.

    My dad has been out of a job for almost 3 years now and it’s become really hard for my mum to cope and she is now forced to pay for everything. Things have gotten really bad to the point where we were being threatened with an eviction from the house we live in. My mum is struggling and the bills keep piling up. My dad does try to apply for jobs but it’s really hard to get a job in this economy right now and especially in Perth, WA. Jobs are really scarce and no one is hiring much. Recently, he received a job and I thought that all our prayers had been answered because it was meant to be a permanent position for a few months, but today after only working 2/3
    days he was fired. The position was no longer and now we are back to rock bottom.

    I just feel really helpless and down. I feel like all the hope I had in me is now lost. I really need prayer from anyone and everyone. I would really appreciate it if you would all pray for my dad to find a new job as soon as possible and that we don’t have to face this again. I’m in desperate need for a miracle :( I just need help from you guys and god.

    Thank you so much

    1. mirandad says:

    2. CJ says:

      Hi Ann, Praying for your dad to find a good job and that God will continue to provide for you and your family and that no need goes unmet. I pray that He will do the miraculous for you family and I pay that until your dad gets another job that your family will not lack. In Jesus name, Amen.

    3. Jessica says:

      Praying for you and your family-that God would provide. Also praying that God would bring you and your family peace, that, with Job you can say that this hard season has brought you to the end of yourselves and drawn you closer to see God more! “For I know that my Redeemer lives,
      and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
      And after my skin has been thus destroyed,
      yet in my flesh I shall see God,
      whom I shall see for myself,
      and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
      My heart faints within me!” Job 19:25-27

    4. Liz says:

      Lord I just come to you right now and I lift up Anna and her family. Father I ask that your will be done in their lives, father I know that in hard moments like these we feel as though you don’t have a plan for us, but father I just pray that you give Anna peace, father that she may know that you have not left her or her family alone, that your plan is in the making. Father, I thank you because I know that this too shall pass! We thank you father because you care about the details of our lives. I pray peace in Anna’s life and her family, in the name of Jesus Amen!

    7. Tessa says:

      Lord,
      Thank you for caring for us–that you know every freckle on our face as you number the stars in the sky. You are good, Lord. We trust in you and ask that the community surrounding Ann would come alongside her and be your hands and feet. In this time, I pray for peace. We have come before you in supplication and thanksgiving. Be a pillar of strength, and a refuge of peace, and a source of wisdom for Ann and her family. Thank you for this community of believers that have responded to Ann’s plea for prayer. Be with our sister, dear Lord, and let her know your presence.
      Amen

  63. Kylee says:

    I got GIDDY reading this part — ALL the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, all the families of the nations shall worship before you — because CAN YOU IMAGINE?! From the depths of the seas to all of our families, ALL WILL WORSHIP, all will acknowledge, all will praise. All hail the King of all kings — it’s enough to put a skip in my step this Monday!! All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. – it’s amazing that all will bow down. It’s hard to imagine everyone on their knees before God, but one day it will happen.

  68. Angela says:

    Psalm 20: 1;7 NIV
    1 May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;
    may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

    7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
    but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

    Psalm 22 NIV
    1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
    Why are you so far from saving me,
    so far from my cries of anguish?
    2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
    by night, but I find no rest.
    3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
    you are the one Israel praises.
    4 In you our ancestors put their trust;
    they trusted and you delivered them.
    5 To you they cried out and were saved;
    in you they trusted and were not put to shame.
    6 But I am a worm and not a man,
    scorned by everyone, despised by the people.
    7 All who see me mock me;
    they hurl insults, shaking their heads.
    8 “He trusts in the Lord,” they say,
    “let the Lord rescue him.
    Let him deliver him,
    since he delights in him.”
    9 Yet you brought me out of the womb;
    you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast.
    10 From birth I was cast on you;
    from my mother’s womb you have been my God.
    11 Do not be far from me,
    for trouble is near
    and there is no one to help.
    12 Many bulls surround me;
    strong bulls of Bashan encircle me.
    13 Roaring lions that tear their prey
    open their mouths wide against me.
    14 I am poured out like water,
    and all my bones are out of joint.
    My heart has turned to wax;
    it has melted within me.
    15 My mouth is dried up like a potsherd,
    and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;
    you lay me in the dust of death.
    16 Dogs surround me,
    a pack of villains encircles me;
    they pierce my hands and my feet.
    17 All my bones are on display;
    people stare and gloat over me.
    18 They divide my clothes among them
    and cast lots for my garment.
    19 But you, Lord, do not be far from me.
    You are my strength; come quickly to help me.
    20 Deliver me from the sword,
    my precious life from the power of the dogs.
    21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions;
    save me from the horns of the wild oxen.
    22 I will declare your name to my people;
    in the assembly I will praise you.
    23 You who fear the Lord, praise him!
    All you descendants of Jacob, honor him!
    Revere him, all you descendants of Israel!
    24 For he has not despised or scorned
    the suffering of the afflicted one;
    he has not hidden his face from him
    but has listened to his cry for help.
    25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;
    before those who fear you I will fulfill my vows.
    26 The poor will eat and be satisfied;
    those who seek the Lord will praise him—
    may your hearts live forever!
    27 All the ends of the earth
    will remember and turn to the Lord,
    and all the families of the nations
    will bow down before him,
    28 for dominion belongs to the Lord
    and he rules over the nations.
    29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;
    all who go down to the dust will kneel before him—
    those who cannot keep themselves alive.
    30 Posterity will serve him;
    future generations will be told about the Lord.
    31 They will proclaim his righteousness,
    declaring to a people yet unborn:
    He has done it!

    All of Psalm 22 is about Jesus and His crucifixion.

    Dropped the YouVersion app for the She Reads Truth app.

    1. Kiki says:

      Yes I realized this as I was reading also. I never saw the connection until now!

  69. Mrs.G says:

    Love this: 8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
    but we rise up and stand firm.
    9 Lord, give victory to the king!
    Answer us when we call!

  70. Bev Brandon says:

    Praying for those who have shared struggles today and other days. Ps 22:14 For those of us who are stuck. Disjointed bones. Hearts melted like wax in overwhelming pain. Praying for rescuing grace. .

  71. Bev Brandon says:

    The God of Jacob protects you. God made a covenant w/ Jacob! And they pray unanimously. And they trusted in God not in chariots & horses. Not in their support. Not in their ministry. Not in their resources. In God Alone. Because You sit at Right Hand, help each of us stand tall today. Stand upright Ps 20:7-8.

  72. Antimony says:

    21:4, 6 “He asked life of You, [and] You gave it to him, length of days forever & ever. For You make him most blessed forever; You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence”. The life that God gives results in joy and gladness! That is what He declares. Like John. He gives [abundant!] life. It should make others “want what you’ve got”. So different from the apathy, doubt, emptiness, and sadness that is so prevalent today.

  73. Kyra Joy says:

    1 The king rejoices in your strength, Lord.
    How great is his joy in the victories you give!
    2 You have granted him his heart’s desire
    and have not withheld the request of his lips.
    3 You came to greet him with rich blessings
    and placed a crown of pure gold on his head.
    4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—
    length of days, for ever and ever.
    5 Through the victories you gave, his glory is great;
    you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.
    6 Surely you have granted him unending blessings
    and made him glad with the joy of your presence.
    7 For the king trusts in the Lord;
    through the unfailing love of the Most High
    he will not be shaken.

    I really enjoyed reading this segment… I think it’s a good reminder that (even though we aren’t royalty) God is here, and is ever powerful.

  74. Nicole says:

    I had a tough time reflecting on these passages, as a whole they seemed to say one thing to me after finishing with them:
    The LORD is all powerful <3

    1. Brigetta says:

      Amen! I couldn’t agree more!

  75. Erilyne says:

    This was so nice to read after Job. That’s been an intense read for me.

    1. Lauren says:

      Definitely. I’m loving Job, but it is for sure intense. It’s good to rest with the psalms!

  76. Leah Swindon says:

    Wow. So much to reflect on in these chapters. Psalm 20 made me think of the joy of worship and how blessed we are that we can go to church today and praise Him in corporate/community worship. And Psalm 22 is so amazing to read. The questions in the first part and the hope in the second. I loved this verse 22:26 The poor will eat and be satisfied;
    those who seek the Lord will praise him—
    may your hearts live forever!
    Amen!

  77. 6 Now this I know:
    The Lord gives victory to his anointed.
    He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
    with the victorious power of his right hand.
    7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
    but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
    8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
    but we rise up and stand firm.

    ❤️

  78. 9 Yet you brought me out of the womb;
    you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast.” Im nursing my son as I read this, and I glanced over to my son, thankful for God’s pursuit of him.

      1. Carie says:

        Me too! Lord, I pray these verses could be proclaimed by my sons one day!

      2. Kristen S says:

        I am reading this MONTHS later (in July- I just started a few weeks ago!!) and I am nursing my daughter as I read this! How crazy!

  79. Erin says:

    Today’s reading was so empowering!

  80. Alison says:

    My favorite verses from today’s reading:
    27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
    28 For the kingdom is the LORD’S: and he is the governor among the nations.

  81. I loved the end of Psalm 22…declaring His Hope to a people yet unborn. Let us live with His glorious declarations always on our lips!

    1. I loved this ending as well!

  82. Lydia says:

    There is SO MUCH goodness stored up in these chapters. It makes me want to stand and start shouting His praises and dancing in my yet-still house on the hill. I could reiterate everything that David has said with jubilee in my heart, but here are some of my thoughts…

    In the midst of circumstances that seem like they could not be changed by any person, I shout out verse 7: Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
    but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

    In the midst of a world that feels like it’s turning upside down, I dig out my crown, put it on my head, and revel in verses 6-7: Surely you have granted him unending blessings
    and made him glad with the joy of your presence.
    7 For the king trusts in the Lord;
    through the unfailing love of the Most High
    he will not be shaken.

    With thanksgiving, my heart rejoices that verse 10 has been my portion: From birth I was cast on you;
    from my mother’s womb you have been my God.

    And with Job near to my heart, verses 23-26 make me sing choruses of His goodness toward us in the midst of trials: You who fear the Lord, praise him!
    All you descendants of Jacob, honor him!
    Revere him, all you descendants of Israel!
    24 For he has not despised or scorned
    the suffering of the afflicted one;
    he has not hidden his face from him
    but has listened to his cry for help.
    25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;
    before those who fear you I will fulfill my vows.
    26 The poor will eat and be satisfied;
    those who seek the Lord will praise him—
    may your hearts live forever!

    Finally, today, verses 30-31 are my prayer. That I may live to tell the narrative of His goodness to my great-grandchildren and beyond!
    30 Posterity will serve him;
    future generations will be told about the Lord.
    31 They will proclaim his righteousness,
    declaring to a people yet unborn:
    He has done it!

    1. MamaJonk says:

      Wow! Thank you Lydia for your thoughts this morning. I woke up in a funk for reasons unknown and reading your post has helped lift the heaviness on my heart.

    2. Jennifer says:

      Yes and amen!

  83. Nicole says:

    Psalm 22 got me go thinking. I wonder if David knew he was penning prophecy, especially one of such a pivotal event as Jesus’ death on the cross. Jesus, his own earthly decedent, would one day speak these words and experience the very things he wrote of, but in a literal sense rather than figurative.
    just gave me chills and some food for thought.

  84. Rin says:

    Psalm 22. Jesus. Chilling.

    1. Brigetta says:

      Indeed! To know that Jesus fulfilled this passage. Powerful!

  85. Linda says:

    He has done it!

  86. Jess says:

    This is the cry of my heart during my struggle with my eating disorder. “7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
    but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” It’s as simple as that. In myself I can do nothing. I’ve tried to trust in myself or work out how I can overcome in myself but it is just pointless. I trust in Him: there’s no other hope. Only He can make me well. I love the Psalms because they are real and full of brokenness and pain, yet so founded on trust at the same time. I hear the cry of my heart in these verses and find hope to carry on. Ah He is so good to me. And there’s real hope ahead for me. I believe it. Help me Lord in my unbelief.

    1. Kristy says:

      Praying for the Lord to be you strength during your struggle, Jess.

    2. Erin says:

      Xoxo!! God is the ultimate healer, you will be healed!

    3. Lauren says:

      Jess I am praying for you in your struggle. Have you ever read “Carry On, Warrior” by Glennon Melton? You might find it helpful. This lady had an eating disorder and she trusted in God to help her heal. I wish you all the best with your journey.

    4. Mare says:

      This is me too Jess! I struggle with clinical depression and as I read this i hear my cries yet see the hope when you trust. Lord her and me in our unbelief

  87. Lauren says:

    I’ve never read much of Psalms, but 22 really touched me – to think of Jesus thinking of this one during his final hours on the cross was moving.

    1. Morgan B says:

      YES! I heard it said once that Jesus’ quoted this scripture as a message of hope to his followers standing around his cross. That any Jew in the crowd would hear these words and immediately call to memory the full 22nd chapter of psalms and see a glimpse into the future…when his name would be proclaimed to every generation and WE will say “He has done it!!!” (Vs 33)

      1. Becca says:

        Wow! I never knew that, but what an AMAZING culmination and prophecy of him coming again!

  88. Martina Appelqvist says:

    Wow psalm 22 is one of my absolute favorites!!
