  1. E Hong says:

    47The king answered and said to Daniel, “Truly, your God is God of gods and Lord of kings, and a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery.”

  2. Alli Habe says:

    Jesus teaches us to love those who deceive us but then John says 10If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting,
    I don’t get it

    1. Brooke Alvial says:

      I believe this verse is referring to false teachers, not to house them, as you would be helping them in spreading false doctrine. As for loving those who deceive us I’m not sure which scripture says that… could you share so we can help better?
      Also we see in 2 John 1:6 “This is love, that we walk according to His commandments”. Sometimes love is tough love! Either way it’s looking out for the ultimate best of the person, which is that they turn from what is evil or false doctrine and live for Him. By housing these false teachers, not only do you show them approval in what they do but you allow many other people to be led astray, which isn’t “love”. Today we don’t have the issue of housing teachers as often as they were having, I don’t think.

    2. Amy B says:

      Jesus said to, “Love your enemies”, but the harshest stances Jesus ever made were against the people (specifically leaders) distorting the Truths of God, being legalistic instead of loving, taking advantage others in the name of following the practices of God and

    I agree with you Bella

  4. Bella says:

    I love how through Daniel interpreting the king’s dream, he was also able to share about his God (who is the true God)! “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, BUT there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.” And that’s a capitalized “G”!! God had given him a gift and Daniel used it for the sake of His name

    1. Samantha says:

      I loved this too. The idea that Daniel could have easily taken all the praise as if this was done in his own power, but instead, he gave all the glory to God. I feel like we have to be so careful not to only go to God in our hard times, but also praise him and share with others when He does great things in our lives!!

  5. Katrina says:

    God is the only answerer! And wants us to be wise within our flesh! Daniel 1:16 So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead.

  6. Kristina says:

    19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
    20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
    21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
    22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
    23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.

    I loved these verses in Daniel 2. While in the midst of what may have been a chaotic, maybe frightening moment, Daniel went back to inform his companions. Although it doesn’t directly say it, I’d like to think they began to pray, just as they did every night. Daniel wasn’t consumed by the events, he slept. And that’s when God gave him the wisdom and interpretation. And instead of feeling relief or running off to tell his companions, he first praised God!!

  7. MarmeeCotton says:

    2 John 4 I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

    I know this is speaking of the followers of Christ as the “children” but I also read it as my own children being found walking in God’s way. Truly one of my greatest hopes and joys!

    1. Sara says:

      Mine too! I always tell God that if I never do another thing in my life, all I want is to raise children to know, love, and live for the Lord!

  8. Laura says:

    20 and said:
    “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
    wisdom and power are his.
    21 He changes times and seasons;
    he deposes kings and raises up others.
    He gives wisdom to the wise
    and knowledge to the discerning.
    22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
    he knows what lies in darkness,
    and light dwells with him.
    So thankful! He is true and good and so faithful!
