He is a God of details. He sent his son down for us, and nothing can separate us. He feels the room. He is holy. He dwells with us. He speaks to us. His blood covers us. He is our sacrifice. He is so merciful. He is our inheritance. He is our possession. He is our advocate. He forgets our sins. He forgives our sins. His eternal life. He remains. He is our treasure.
16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. – 1 John 2:16-17
Learning to not love the world or the things in it has become very real for me. I’m starting to realize the corruption & evil of the world & I cannot wait for Christ’s coming.
The image of God’s glory was so incredible to me: the idea of seeing it fill a place was strengthened all the more by the way it struck Ezekiel, and I could only imagine what it was like to see that glory present in such a visceral form…truly beautiful
Thank the lord we have God and Jesus as examples of what love is and how to be strong and brave. The world throws so many ideas at us of what love is, but it’s truly only found in God and walking with Jesus. I pray to seek and show that kind of love and to not settle for anything less here.
2and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters, and the land was radiant with his glory.
9Now let them put away their whoring and the dead bodies of their kings far from me, and I will dwell in their midst forever.
It is amazing that our holy God can say He will dwell in our midst. We have loved the world, and we have gone after it in idolatry, but the Lord Jesus Christ has taken on all God’s wrath for us. May we turn away from these things and be a holy dwelling place for the Lord.
28And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming. 29If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.
5but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.”
Gods love is perfected in us as we walk like Christ!!
The image of God in Ezekiel made me both chuckle and just wonder in awe. Ezekiel 45:2-3 His voice sounded like the roar of a huge torrent, and the earth shone with his glory….I fell facedown
He actually mentions falling face down twice at the sight of God. God’s glory is that awesome. It’s unimaginable and so so awesome. We have much to look forward to, friends
“My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous” (1 John 2:1). So very thankful for an advocate who pleads my case! His sacrifice paid my price. His faithful love secures my place. His seated position assures my heart!
Ruby-i love it when someone’s comment helps me connect the readings- like yours does! Here’s the verse from 1 John 2 that came to me as soon as i read your comment. 1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; 2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world. Old Testament changed to the New. BIG changes! Thank You Jesus!!
At the end of chapter 43, it goes on to list the seven days worth of sin offerings the Israelites were to offer to purify themselves, and then it says, “Then I will accept you, declares the Sovereign Lord.” WOW it just seems so crazy to me that prior to Jesus’ purification, God’s beloved people still had to atone for their own sins. And then and only then would God accept them. Seems so crazy to me. So thankful for salvation through Christ!
Today marks one month of reading the Bible every day for me!! Thanks ladies for always helping to provide insights into readings I may struggle with and different interpretations of the Lords word! So thankful for SRT(:
It’s hard to believe how quickly this year has gone. Tomorrow is December and I’m wondering what I will do next year. This has been a fantastic way to read the Bible in a year. Thanks SRT! And thank you wonderful community.
Welcome aboard! So glad you have figured out a way to get in Gods Word daily. Reading through the Bible with SRT is a great place to start or finish your day! Enjoy :)
Hello I’m new to this app, but I was looking for a way to be more dedicated in my reading and since I’ve had the bad habit of putting my technology before my reading time, I decided to put my reading into my technology. So hello everyone, I love this app so far :)
I like how In 1 John 2:12 he writes a letter to his little children also how he writes to God another letter it is very meaningful to see how much Jesus cares for us because we are all children of God
Such a contrast between Ezekiel 44 and the beginning of 1 John 2. Before, they had to undergo so much tedious work to sacrifice to the Lord, and now we are so so blessed to have had Jesus come and die for our sins making it no longer necessary to do all those sacrifices. Sometimes we take it for granted, but what Jesus did for us is truly amazing and is such a clear example of how much we are loved.
Don’t forget to reflect on that this Christmas. If He can show us that much love, then it only makes sense for us to share that with those around us.
I agree with you Katie. So many times I think as Christians we forget how valuable Jesus dying on the cross really was. A wise person once told me that “if you don’t know the value of something you will abuse it.” These scriptures opened my eyes to the true true value of Jesus’ death on the cross, and changed my perspective how I live my Christian life. I think this helped me go even deeper into my walk with the Lord.
Two charges towards the end of chapter 2 in the book of 1 John.
The first: to remain in him. “But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit–just as it has taught you, remain in him,
The second: continue in him. “And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.”
We gotta stick with Jesus. As it says in Jude–“keep yourselves in the love of God” as it says in the book of John “remain in me and you will bear much fruit” we are also reminded there of what it’s like if we do not remain in him: jOhn chapter 15:6 “if you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”
REMAIN. HOLD FAST TO OUR SAVIOR.
Enjoy your Monday :)

Lord have mercy! Help me forgive truly and not “claim” to be something I’m not…teach me to live as You love!
Hi guys? Y’all never commented? Ok??? This is weird… Anyway……. Uhhmmmhh… Well here is a place you can chat and connect with people on the subject of Christianity. I’m Rachel. My dream life is to Marry a man named Jacob and have a kid named Joseph and one named Benjamin, like in the bible, and live in a CHRISTIAN HOME. Where we pray over dinner. Where we love unconditionally. Where we treasure our lord. Please comment!
Rachel Williford, you have a home to be thankful for. A dream to continue the legacy in your own home someday is a precious and worthy dream. You are off to a great foundation by reading scripture every day and connecting with other like minded women.

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
So powerful. This world is not for us.

Yes! 1 John 2:9 Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness.
I always say hate is a strong word but also is annoyance and dislike… Loving one another is key to seeing true love cover lives overall!
9 Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. 10 Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.
