He is our God. He makes all things new. He rules. He is powerful. He is judge. He’s on our side. He restores. He redeems. Through him not us. He cleanses. He gives us a new heart. He never leaves or abandons. He is our helper. He is the same.
26And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
The idea that interacting with strangers can lead us to entertaining angels is crazy and exciting!!! And a great reminder that there are angels all over this earth and we should open ourselves up to interacting with and loving people who are way different than ourselves.
Our sacrifice is in Christ. Through him may we offer praise to God and devote ourselves to living in holiness in him that his name may be honored and glorified.
30I will make the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field abundant, that you may never again suffer the disgrace of famine among the nations. 32It is not for your sake that I will act, declares the Lord God; let that be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.
25I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. 28You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
20 Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, 21 equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Just pondering this heart of flesh vs stone (we also saw this in Ezekiel 11:19-20). Flesh is alive—it moves, is warm, grows, and feels (good & bad feelings); it needs nourishment, even bleeds, and can die if deprived nutrients. So much here relates to our being actively fed by the Living Word, so we can be alive and sensitive to the Holy Spirit and what He wants to speak, how He wants us to LIVE in the world around us.
Stone is cold, dead, hard, solid, lifeless. Give it all the food & water you want—it won’t change. I️t doesn’t speak of a Living God the way hearts of flesh can. This is affirmed in the NT too—2 Cor 3:3-“It is clear that you are Christ’s letter, produced by us, not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God — not on stone tablets but on tablets that are hearts of flesh.”
Lord, in a world of stone cold, unfeeling hearts, let me be a heart of flesh that feels your love for them, that recognizes their need for you, that works to show them YOU are the one who turns dead, lifeless hearts to life, peace, growth, health. Even in the midst of the pain we feel, you bring life, healing, & nourishment.
Ezekiel 36:24-28 “ ‘For here’s what I’m going to do:… I’ll give you a new heart, put a new spirit in you. I’ll remove the stone heart from your body and replace it with a heart that’s God-willed, not self-willed. I’ll put my Spirit in you and make it possible for you to do what I tell you and live by my commands. You’ll once again live in the land I gave your ancestors. You’ll be my people! I’ll be your God!'”
Such a great reminder- God has the ability and wants to mold us into what HE wants us to be. But first we must let Him do so! I pray that I can allow God into my life and heart on an everyday basis!
Ezekiel 36:36 “Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I am the Lord; I have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted that which was desolate. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.” Because we are His children, this promise applies to us too: God will rebuild the ruined areas in our lives and replant the desolated places. We need only walk in faith and service to Him.
This is such a great reminder! It is so hard to recognize Jesus’ forgiving heart because no man is able to forgive as he does, so we don’t understand it. As soon as we ask for God to take away those ruined places of our heart, he does so and does not remember our transgressions. If we don’t linger on our mistakes, we can walk in faith and in service to Him. Thank you for highlighting that verse!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am thankful for SRT and this amazing community of women who have helped me grow and learn so much since I started this journey. I am thankful for this Bible plan and that I have an app to use to help me every day. Have a blessed day sisters
Keep your lives free from the love of money and {be content with what you have} because God has said,”Never will I leave you; never will if forsake you”.
Give us this day, our daily bread.
I’ve been learning a lot lately to be content with where I am in my life and not to have an attitude of “somethings missing” in my life, but to know that here and now is where God has me and I have all that I need in Him. All I have needed thy had hath provided! Thankful for where i am!! Happy thanksgiving ladies!
Love that new feature where She Reads Truth says good morning! It totally worked for me. I’m thankful that God’s timing is perfect way beyond anything that I could possibly plan.
12 So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood. 13 Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured. 14 For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.
Father, help me to remember that I belong with Jesus, outside the camp, not all cozied up to the fire of this world.
2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
This verse really hits home with me because It is hard for me to trust a stranger. I work in a church office where we have so many people that come to us needing help. Unfortunately, some are not legitimate with their needs. I continue to pray to let God deal with those people but for me to have the courage to just do what He expects me to do.
22 “Therefore say to the Israelites, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: It is not for your sake, people of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone.
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
So thankful His mercy does not depend on me in any way, that He acts for His own name’s sake and He makes me able and willing to live in obedience to Him!

6So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”
Constantly trying to keep this in mind as I go through the daily struggles of life.
Tried to post as reply to SarahMay- it was a struggle- this was how it ended up- lol!!
