We are His. He doesn’t hold anything against us. He is fair. He judges us according to our ways. He loves us. He wants us to live. He gives us what we need yet we fail to choose Him. He is the life giving branch. He died for us. We needed Him. He changed the law. He is a bridge. He died for us forever for all sins. He intercedes. He is perfect.
31Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? 32For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.”
I am starting my journey through SRT today by diving into the word through the Bible in 365 days. Ezekiel 18:21 spoke to me today. God forgives, God gives second chances. I needed to hear that today, I needed the reassurance that I am not lost or forgotten.
Welcome Jenna!! You are not lost or forgotten! I’m nearly at the end if my year- and let me encourage you- you may find passages hard, or strange, and others may be absolutely what you needed to hear at that moment some will make your heart sing. Through it all- i am getting to know the truth of God! And I’ve learned so much from women brave enough to comment and share along the way! Sooo glad you found this! I’m even considering just continuing the daily blessing after i’ve “finished”. So welcome!!
I️’ve been wondering what I’ll be doing next year also. I️ love this format and ability to comment—the only thing I would like better is to be more involved in everyone’s lives/stories. I’m not sure how that’s possible, but something I️ think about.
I completely agree SarahMay. I would love to be able to follow up on others some way. #srt is there anything in the works on this? Like where we can be notified when someone responds to us?
I whole heartedly agree with you and Kristen! I had often wondered how i could connect with you ladies on Facebook or something- because i gain so much by knowing you and also want to pray more specifically after your requests. Im glad Kristen asked SRT!
In case anyone was helping me pray for Tessa- i just finally got this update today… “Ok all you prayers, Tessa is doing great and baby is perfect. Isn’t that what God does?”… yes!! Yes! Praise Jesus! May he get a looott of praise and glory!!!
I️ struggled with the strong imagery in yesterday’s reading—I️t was so graphic and disgusting—my only thought was, surely they’ll get it this time? Surely they’ll see the connection with prostitution and repent? I️t also brought me to disgust with our politicians/leaders who are being accused of sexual misconduct—seems like someone new every day, and yet almost every evening show has immortality in it—do we really expect better? Not much has changed since the days of the Exile.
Still Yahweh cries out,
23 “Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked?…Instead, don’t I take pleasure when he turns from his ways and lives?
29 …Is it My ways that are unfair, house of Israel? Instead, isn’t it your ways that are unfair?
31 Throw off all the transgressions you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Why should you die, house of Israel?
32 For I️ take no pleasure in anyone’s death. So repent and live!”
And this incredible comfort from Hebrews 7: 25 “Therefore, He is always able to save those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.” ALWAYS. He isn’t going anywhere. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, always drawing us, STILL wanting us to repent and live. I️ pray for our nation today also, that we would repent and turn from our sin and live. That sin would be discovered and punished, that we would seek God’s face again in humility.
I️ also struggled with yesterday’s reading. And even beginning reading today I️ was discouraged. It is very disheartening to see how many times Ezekiel warned the people, yet they still refused to repent.
My husband was actually just talking about all the different acts of sexual misconduct in the news. I️ didn’t make a connection with our reading until your comment, how applicable It is to our world today. Thanks for bringing to light insightful perspectives on the scripture readings! I️ am convicted this morning to pray more for our nation’s repentance, rather than just talking about how frustrated I️ am with things in the news.
And even more than that, I️ can be a reflection to the world of what humble repentance looks like through my interactions with people at work, in my neighborhood, and in my family. Being able to admit I️ am wrong when I️ mess up, and ask for forgiveness, seeking peace and reconciliation, can be a way people see the love of Christ.
Hi everybody! My name is Morgan, I’m 13. I am very new to SRT so I’m not quite sure how the whole thing works! But, I’ll figure it out! I am very excited to be here! I love this scripture passage so much! Thanks everyone!
I loved Hebrews 7:28 For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.
Even priests aren’t to be perfect – only Jesus was meant to be!
28 For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever. PERFECT FOREVER. Perfect ending for today’s reading.
SheReadsTruth was so thoughtful when pairing the OT passages and the NT passages. WOW! I am struck by Gods call to repentance in Ezekiel and his provision of Jesus, our eternal high priest. We are able to gain repentance and live because Christ is here to intercede for us. He is stronger than the strongest high priest the people had known (Melchizedek).
Repentance reminds me of submission. We are asked to repent of our sins and live by God, not our fears, imagined needs, and human desires. This is difficult to do, but God promises a new life and he makes us more human.

Jesus paid the ULTIMATE debt for us. So grateful.❤️

So thankful for his sacrifice

25Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

They don’t look at the comments on this plan because it’s >2 years old. Might need to email them.

Love it! I just made my comment before seeing yours!
We are for sure on the same page! ♥️
I LOVED the passage from Ezekiel. That is a great reference passage especially for people with lots of questions about God.

I felt the same way!

So thankful that Jesus is our high priest since I cannot live up to being righteous on my own mentioned in Ezekiel, only Jesus!
Amen Gabrielle! What a plan our sovereign God has for us! I too love seeing how the OT unfolds in the New!

What verse is this?
