He loves and cares for us when we do morning and don’t deserve it. We are His. He cleans us. He provides. He speaks. He is Lord. Turn to Him. He gives power. He does what He says he does. He is in control. He appoints. He chooses. He permits. He blesses. He is just. He doesn’t forget. He promises. He never changes. He doesn’t lie. He is our hope!
I don’t think they are quite sure who wrote Hebrews—when they were decided on what books would make up the New Testament, it was not immediately accepted.
God has the power to “bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall.” I also love how the chapter closes with “I the lord have spoken and I will do it.” God delivers his promises with certainty!!
24And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the Lord; I bring low the high tree, and make high the low tree, dry up the green tree, and make the dry tree flourish. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.”
Which disciple wrote Hebrews? When it’s a letter, it usually states who at the beginning of the first chapter, but it seems that this one didn’t start like that.
62I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall know that I am the Lord, 63that you may remember and be confounded, and never open your mouth again because of your shame, when I atone for you for all that you have done, declares the Lord God.”
He has atoned for us, once and for all ❤️
⚓️ ⚓️ ⚓️ Sure and steadfast anchor – hope for our souls. Thank you God that you are permanent and we can cling tightly to you and your promises. There is nothing uncertain about you, you will not suddenly give way or give up on us. Thank you Lord!
I know I’m a day behind. Im challenged by this from Hebrews: 1 Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, 2 instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.- im not sure i understand all of these foundational teachings yet. Does anyone have any resources/references to recommend?
I need to work on leaning on the Lord’s understanding instead of my own; all too often I take up my tasks and responsibilities and lean on my own strength, only to get overwhelmed and anxious. I pray that I can begin to learn from this and instead trust in the Lord’s strength
I haven’t posted on here before but I’ve enjoyed going through the readings so far and reading everyone’s thoughts and takeaways after each day’s reading.
I’m going through a really tough time in a relationship right now and it is wreaking havoc on me emotionally and physically (I’ve been breaking out in hives for a week). I broke down sobbing tonight just asking God to please help me through this and wanted to ask for some extra prayers from y’all to aid me in getting through this and whatever resolution it is God has in store for me. Thanks everyone and God bless.
Awwww sweets I remember being in that space too. Hives sleepless nights crying uncontrollably broken beyond what I had ever experienced. Let me encourage you… You can get through this… Allow yourself time to grieve, and surround yourself with people who will allow you to be; and who speak life and love to set an atmosphere of worship. Look to the hills and know where your help comes from. If you don’t have people like that in your life, you will need to do it for yourself. Stand on Gods word and speak his truth over who you are and what he says. I used to put worship music on all night listening to help me sleep, and when I would wake up on the edge of tears again, I would hear the words or music to sooth my soul again and would fall back to sleep. Fill my house with messages from preachers to encourage me etc. We are all here with you too! Lean in to our daddy he has you xox

Today’s reading was so good! It broke my heart and gave me pause to read of us as Gods bride and how we broke/break his heart each time we “play the whore” by putting others before him. How we take his gifts and his treasures and we give them away to things that hurt him or devalue ourselves. It makes me continue to search through my life and release these useless things so that I can be wholly and truly his.
This is what my Bible study notes say. Chapter 16: “The whole history of God’s dealings with Jerusalem is graphically portrayed in an allegory that highlights the Lord’s great goodness to the city on the one hand and the depth of the city’s unfaithfulness to him on the other. Here Jerusalem as a royal city among the other cities of the world serves an as analogue and representative of Israel. …”
Chapter 17: “An allegory/parable symbolizing King Zedekiah’s vacillating royal policy that led to his downfall.”
“.., and never open your mouth again because of your shame, when I •atone• for you for all that you have done, declares the Lord.” How crazy to see that the Old Testament teaches some of the exact things from the New Testament!
Ezekiel’s imagery of the cycle of being on the streets to God giving us good gifts to then using these gifts as idols or for ourselves has led me to search my own heart and see if I have turned a blessing from God into an idol.
Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
What a wonderful way to start a day!
God is good!

19We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,

44“Behold, everyone who uses proverbs will use this proverb about you: ‘Like mother, like daughter.’
Didn’t know this was in the Bible

http://youtu.be/59xPDnsL4qw a beautiful song by Gungor that illustrates this heartbreaking passage from Ezekiel in detail

Can someone please help me understand today’s reading in Eziekel?

I posted a song that may help http://youtu.be/59xPDnsL4qw
How encouraging to read that God has promised us something and will not ever break that promise. We will make it to His kingdom.
Hebrews 6:10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
Our good deeds aren’t going unnoticed, we should do them regardless knowing He is watching us and proud of us!
“.., and never open your mouth again because of your shame, when I •atone• for you for all that you have done, declares the Lord.” How crazy to see that the Old Testament teaches some of the exact things from the New Testament!
How gracious and merciful is our God!
