Definitely needed to hear that the lord cares for me, so cast all my anxieties on him. Resist the devil. After suffering, the lord will restore, confirm, strengthen, & establish me. ❤️

  9. Liz Kuster says:

6Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

  10. Sarah Johnson says:

The lesson on humility is one I need often. Lord help me to show others the grace and mercy you show me- not having contempt for anyone because they are not doing the same things as me or because I don’t immediately see that value in what they are doing. Being a Christian is about love, not judgement. Create in me patterns of LOVING first before anything else.

  11. JoAnn Foley-DeFiore says:

10And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

  12. Sharon Ide says:

Jeremiah ends with closure and sadness as what God has warned all comes to take place. He has done just as He cautioned He would. Although it is tragic there is much goodness in this. As Isaiah 55:11 states, God’s Word does not go out void. It is powerful. It accomplishes all He sovereignly ordains.

  13. E Hong says:

7casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

14Greet one another with the kiss of love.

Peace to all of you who are in Christ.

  15. Ashley Thomas says:

I, too, have struggled with Jeremiah. The repetitive “gloom and doom” nature of the whole book is very hard to continually read. I’m hoping the big take away is God will punish those who consistently denounce Him, and reward those who are steadfast in their faith.

    1. Hannah says:

Hi Ashley! I really like and agree with your take away for Jeremiah. It really helped put things in perspective for me and the tiring repetition that goes on in the book.

  16. AnnieB says:

    The words of ladies above really express my heart today too. Today i think i read some of the most challenging words of scripture for me to understand: 21 With you I will smash the horse and its rider;
with you I will smash the chariot and its rider. 22 With you I will smash man and woman; with you I will smash the old man and the youth; with you I will smash the young man and the young woman.
23 With you I will smash the shepherd and his flock; with you I will smash the farmer and his ox-team.  With you I will smash governors and officials.— but i know all scripture is God-breathed and to teach and instruct me. I plan to watch that video referenced above. I will wrestle through it until i gain the insight God intended. I’ll appreciate any insight others can bring here as well. Love and prayers to all of you!

  17. Leigh Ann says:

Pray for me ladies. I am so glad I’m through with Jeremiah. (That kind if negativity is not good. ) I’m trying to finish strong and catch back up before the end if the year. I just didn’t glean anything from Jeremiah. I hope I can try harder in the next OT book.

    1. Rachel says:

You’re not alone Leigh Ann, I also found Jeremiah challenging to read and I’m also very glad to have reached the end. I found it repetitive and I couldn’t understand a lot of it, think that’s why I struggled so much. God is aware of this and if it’s His will then I’m sure He’ll provide an opportunity for me to gain a better understanding of Jeremiah and learn about it in its proper context. Praying the same will happen for you, don’t be disheartened.

  18. Katrina says:

1 Peter 5:2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

  19. Kendall says:

    Praying the same

  20. Carie says:

Reading all of the curses prophesied for Babylon was tough today, but reminded me of a sermon my husband just preached on Psalm 137 about how we as Christians should respond to evil. I’m biased because it’s my husband, but this sermon is on point! If you’re interested, here’s the audio link…https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CBY_q-ibXTw

    1. Leah S says:

Thanks for sharing Carie! I look forward to watching it. I love sermons on the psalms.

    2. Erin says:

That sermon was phenomenal in helping me to understand what I just read today!! Thank you!

  21. Shirl says:

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Recently been feeling a lot of anxiety and trouble sleeping. I’m asking God to show me whatever pride or sin is in my life. He revealed to me that I need to fear Him more than man. He wants to be first in my life.

    1. Nicole says:

That verse also stood out to me this morning!
