  1. Lauren Garza says:

His word is true. Trust Him. He warns us. He gives us chances. He provides all we need. He has given us everything, we disobey, yet He still loves and keeps us alive. He gives us hope in Christ’s resurrection. He is merciful. He is eternal. We have eternal life in Him. He doesn’t go away. His promises never fade. He guards us. He is refining us. He is holy, we are to be holy. He saved us. He is faultless. We are born again. His word endures. Jesus is forever.

    God’s Word is forever.

  7. Kamdi Okonjo says:

It is amazing when it is said that we are foreigners on this earth and we must live with REVERENT fear. We are in this world but not of this world. We need to learn from this and remember that we are citizens of heaven before we are foreigners on this earth. Temporarily here before we meet our Heavenly Father.

  8. Carol Bowman says:

    24for

    “All flesh is like grass
and all its glory like the flower of grass.
    The grass withers,
    and the flower falls,
25but the word of the Lord remains forever.”

  9. Melissa Smith says:

    18
Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited by your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
    — I don’t consider silver and gold as very “perishable” metals. Thank the Lord!
21 “who through Him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.”
    Wow!!

  11. Melissa Smith says:

1Peter 1:7 “so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” I was pondering how

  12. Sarah Johnson says:

“In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope.” Hope & mercy. Two things I never want to lose sight of. Our hope isn’t dependent on an election or a job title, it is living and can’t fade like the flowers and grasses of the field. It stands forever. And it was given to us freely as the result of mercy.

  14. Jahcelyne Patton says:

    1. Don’t make idols of false gods
    2. Honor Jesus Christ
    3. Be holy and genuinely love others

These are the three parts that I got from today’s reading, I hope you all are or will have a great day!

  15. E Hong says:

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

  16. JoAnn Foley-DeFiore says:

8Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

  17. Sharon Ide says:

The brazen foolishness of the women leading Israel to sacrifice to idols is shocking to me. But perhaps that is because we read it from God’s point of view. May we not cling to our sin and our idols when God warns us again and again that they are not profitable and that they are displeasing to Him.

    1. JoAnn Foley-DeFiore says:

      Amen!!

  18. Crystal Davidson says:

2according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood:

May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

  19. Abigail Sumption says:

Struck by Jeremiah: “ 5 And do you seek great things for yourself? Seek them not, for behold, I am bringing disaster upon all flesh, declares the Lord. But wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.”
Jeremiah was prophesying to Baruch in Judah. He is aspiring for great things in the midst of calamity and uncertainty, they are in exile in Babylon.
I’m unsure whether we should apply these words literally as they are in context, but perhaps in the midst of political chaos (I am in the UK) I can know that more than wealth or reputation or success for myself, God promises us life. And for me that life must mean a life lived in service of others, not accumulating spoils for myself, but always for God’s kingdom and people.

  20. Sharon says:

Life is a journey that should be travelled with a deep consciousness of God,

  21. Sharon says:

Faith is evidence of Victory not material things that I have. I don’t need to yearn for what others have. God is looking for the faithful. Faith tried through suffering not gold tried on the fire is what I need to work for. Dear God please forgive me.

  22. Sharon says:

Heavenly Father as you say in your word. Keep me obedient through your spirit

  23. Sharon says:

Help me Heavenly Father to be humble and to listen when I hear your voice. You know what is best.

  24. Ellien says:

This spoke to me today “10 They have not humbled themselves even to this day, nor have they feared, nor walked in my law and my statutes that I set before you and before your fathers.” Help me Heavenly Father to humble myself and walk obediently in Your light with a humble heart

  25. Joanne says:

Jeremiah, Baruch, Peter and so many others serving God with tired bodies and pure hearts. We live in troubled times. People seem confused concerning right and wrong. It’s easy to be discouraged but these passages are full of encouragement and show the wisdom and strength of our God.

  27. Jennifer says:

Pure heart to me is caring for someone or loving another human because you feel compelled to. To not do things with the intention of being rewarded. God isn’t keeping scores of good deeds he knows your heart.

    1. Kennedy Robinson says:

      i love this

  28. Marisa Huncherick says:

22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,

What does it mean to have a pure heart? I think it has something to do with the refining that takes place when we consistently spend time with God and obey Him. As we make decisions that honor Him, we become more and more attuned to His Spirit. Every choice we make either builds character (bringing us closer to that pure heart) or erodes it. Love well today, ladies.

  29. Nadine says:

Just wanted to encourage you all who are reading through the year plan! Keep at it! I’ve been wanting to quit lately since it seems so long each day, too much to add, yet I’m so thankful for this truth, for The Truth. Keep on sisters.

    1. Leah S says:

Yes! I hear you..these readings in particular, but seeing the whole story of God’s truth has helped me stay focused during these longer days!

  30. Eleanor Hyde says:

Baruch was weary. he was doubting. his spirit was exhausted. but he kept going. be kept writing Gods words, and serving Jeremiah – he lived obediently and followed his calling despite his battles. and as a result, we see him, as he trusts in Gods strenght, be transformed. we see God encouraging him – I am with you, I am growing you, you are mine, I give you eternal life. this I encouragement is the same for us – no matter how we feel, if we work hard, obey Gods calling, and trust, he will grow us. he is with us. stop doubting yourself and keep serving with passion

    1. Lindsay says:

      Loved your insight, Eleanor

    2. Lauren S says:

Thank you Eleanor, I needed to hear this today! I have been feeling at sixes and sevens lately. I keep praying to God, asking him to show me his will.

  31. Bella Mokeba says:

    1 Perer 1:3-5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can NEVER PERISH SPOIL OR FADE. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Amen. The inheritance we receive through salvation can never perish spoil or fade. We are sealed. And verse 6 goes on to say that in all this, we rejoice! We have a reason to sing! Blessed assurance.

  32. Emily S says:

    1 Peter 1:1-2
“Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
to God’s elect, strangers in the world, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood:
Grace and peace be yours in abundance.”

  33. Leah S says:

This first chapter in Peter feels so personal…and it is because his message was intended to reach all of us. But this verse–I felt like he was talking directly to me:
1 Peter 1:12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

    1. Teylor says:

That’s what I was thinking! Very neat how it doesn’t matter what year it is or what’s going on in the world, the statement is still true & very much directed to the reader.

  34. Ariadne says:

22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

This is hard at times especially when people are not who you think they should be. Just mean and unruly. But I must love the brethren. Working on this daily.

  35. Nicole says:

22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,
-A challenge for me today to love others from a pure heart!

    1. April says:

I think of children having pure hearts, when they do wrong they don’t yet know better which also reminds me of what Jesus said that we must believe as children in order to enter the kingdom of God, the heavenly kingdom! Children have a trusting blind faith unlike most others!

  36. Gabrielle says:

“Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. ” 1 Peter 1:13.
This reminds me to find rest!

  37. Reba Joy says:

The word of the Lord endures forever! Wonderful reading!
