He is the potter. He hears. He refines. He can be trusted. Our hope is in Him. He is the savior.

  7. Sarah Johnson says:

I love thinking of us as clay in the potters hands. The clay doesn’t ask “what’s the plan what are you making?” It’s just shaped and molded by the creator who has a perfect plan for what it will be.

  8. E Hong says:

8for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

  9. Sharon Ide says:

We often speak of spiritual valleys as though we have no control of our spiritual well-being. Here Paul exhorts Timothy to practice that his progress may be shown. May we also set our hearts and minds on the Lord, devoting ourself to the practice of spiritual disciplines, that our progress may be shown and made a light to the church and unbelievers alike.

  12. Tricia Tembreull says:

“Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.”

Lord allow me to be like pliable clay in your hands fully submitting myself to you.

  13. Joanne says:

1 Tim meditate on these things……take heed unto doctrine …

Paul is encouraging Timothy to study the word and meditate or internalize it. If only the people in Jeremiah’s time would have loved spending real time in the Word.

If only we would all do that now.

  14. rachel marie says:

“for to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially those whose believe.” my hope is in You, Lord!

Jeremiah 19:9 “I will see to it that your enemies lay siege to the city until all the food is gone. Then those trapped inside will eat their own sons and daughters and friends. They will be driven to utter despair.’”
Just so disturbing what humans beings are capable of. I imagine being driven to utter despair, hopeless, can lead to unthinkable behavior. Thank you Lord that you are our hope.

  17. Katrina says:

I’ve been finding solace in the Lord since losing my pug Jaeden who was 14…. Any healing prayers for grief are appreciated!

Jeremiah 18:5 Then the word of the Lord came to me. 6 He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.

Praying for you. Many years later, I still feel my family dog’s absence when I’m at my parent’s house. Pets can be so special!

15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
I love how God not only talks about saving yourself, but others that see and hear what you are doing! He set a perfect example of how we should act and treat others through Jesus Christ, lets aspire to not only save ourselves but bring others to His goodness and salvation!

  19. Kate says:
