He restores. He dwells with us. He is our strength and security. He is peace. He is just. He is our protection. He is faithful. He sets us free. He makes all things new. Be send down the Holy Spirit.
He calls, justifies, and glorifies he. He is for us. He loves us and nothing can change that. He is grace.

26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. – Romans 8:26

  7. Karen Collins says:

38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, – Romans 8:38 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:39

I needed this reminder from Romans today. Thank you for your never stopping love, Lord!

  11. Chrystal Johnson says:

  12. Sarah Johnson says:

Micah spitting facts that we don’t know the thoughts of the Lord. And we don’t understand his plan. I know he was speaking in a different context to a different group of people, but I constantly need this reminder.

  13. E Hong says:

26Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

  14. JoAnn Foley-DeFiore says:

21that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 20For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope

37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 36As it is written,

    “For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 39nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    NOTHING!

  15. JoAnn Foley-DeFiore says:

2 “But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel,
whose coming forth is from of old,
    from ancient days.”
Another incredible prophecy pointing to Jesus!!

  16. Kylie Seibold says:

So much good stuff in Romans 8!! Amen Amen Amen! Thank you Lord that NOTHING can separate us from YOUR LOVE ❤️

  17. Charlotte-Anne says:

Amen. Truly needed this reading as have had a tough couple of months and really needed to feel the lord today. If the lord is with us then who can be against us. His love is truly overwhelming and surrounding, his love is great! No -one can separate Jesus love from us.

  18. Tricia Tembreull says:

38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God. Lord help me believe this and live this with a resounding amen. Powers of this world will never separate us from your love. i needed to read this after the past few months and all the power struggles our country is facing. Help me Lord know this and live this.

  19. Beth says:

Nothing fazes us. Nothing can separate Jesus’s love from us.

I am sooo grateful for all your comments. The verses Megan is talking about- i will never forget. After sept 11 – there was a nationwide memorial service. A military chaplain got up and his “speech” was only scripture verses- nothing else. But he spoke them as if he was the author. He finished with the most powerful words in romans 8:39! My heart pounded with excitement. At a time we felt so desperately in the valley of the shadow of evil- God’s glorious promise of love was being declared with confidence and joy to millions! Maybe WE are supposed to use these same words now to minister! Let’s spread them everywhere! – and be ready to give an answer for our confidence and joy.

      Rom 8:35-39

  21. Megan says:

    31-39
None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing — nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable — absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.—Amen

Micah 4:2-“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us about His ways so we may walk in His paths.”

A few days ago, the devotional My Utmost for His Highest had a reading about how God takes us to the mountain to experience Him, but it’s in the valleys where we have to walk out what we’ve learned—we can’t live daily on mountain top experiences. This verse in Micah reminded me of that—let’s go to the mountain. Let’s hear from God, every day even, so we can walk out His truth in a world that is groaning in labor pains (as Romans so accurately describes), eagerly awaiting return of Jesus. Micah’s prophecies haven’t all come true (unless it’s taken in a personal sense once one surrenders to Jesus), so we’re still waiting for that day when idols are destroyed, witchcraft won’t be practiced, and disobedience isn’t tolerated.

Romans 8: 25 “But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience.” Let’s wait eagerly in hope for our Lords return, seeking His teaching daily so we can walk in His paths in a world groaning from disobedience around us.

    1. Joanne says:

Amen! I long for the day when the gospel has filled the earth

  23. Rebecca says:

Our God is an awesome God!

  24. Desiree says:

This was awesome for me to read today. The contrast from Micah to Romans of hearing how unfaithful the people were to God then to even read of Jesus in there was awesome!! Then to fast forward to Romans where Paul’s saying about Gods everlasting love!! That’s for us!!!! US !! He is for us! He fights for us. He drenches us in his grace and love and gives us ALL things … He has called us his elect .. He sets us aside and says you are mine. You are different. You are my peculiar treasure and I will never let you or anyone/thing get in the way of my love for you. He is truly a loving and good good father. He showed us Grace and mercy and showed it to the ppl in Micah.. And they didn’t even know what was to come in its full.. I loved this text. Great pairing and sweet reminder of Gods heart for me who is soooo far off from being a girl after his heart .. But he pursues me still. Love you ladies. Hope someone else can relate

  25. Desiree says:

This was awesome for me to read today. J

  26. Isra Dunia says:

No one greater! thank you Jesus for your love!

  27. Kaily says:

26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
Love this. The spirit knows what we need even we don’t. The Lord always knows. In my search to find out more about the spirit, this stands out to me. This is incredibly comforting.

    1. Kristen S says:

Kaily, that stuck out to me as well. So often lately I’ve found myself realizing God answered something that was on my heart that I hadn’t prayed for. It had been a fleeting thought in my mind, a moment through this crazed mom brain and yet, I see him answering and providing and it would just make me smile because I knew that it was just my Father loving on me. This passage just made it all be more clear that when our human brains fail, we have something far more powerful working for us and with our Heavenly Father.

  28. TGBTG says:

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    Alleluia!

  29. Jessica says:

18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
Our life is so short compared to the eternal glory with God we get to have! What a reassurance! We have been given a spirit of endurance AND perseverance. Thank the Lord!!

  30. Nicole says:

12 “But they do not know the thoughts of the Lord,
    And they do not understand His purpose;
For He has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor.

It is not always our place to ask the reasons why we are called to do certain things in life, but to be confident in the fact that the Lord has fashioned these things for us and we will one day come to find the purpose.

  31. Zoe says:

It is awesome to read Romans 8 and to have that reassurance that know matter what path he shows us it will never be anything that we can’t handle! So we shouldn’t worry about the next decision or next step in our lives because all we need to do is just focus on Him!

    1. Alison says:

Hi Zoe! I too am encouraged by Romans 8 because it promises God’s presence with us through it all. I think that there will be many things in our life that we cannot handle-God promises in his word that if we follow him, the world will hate us-but God promises himself to us and promises that His love will endure beyond what we experience in this life. It encourages my heart to know that I am weak and I will fail, and there will be many times that I cannot do his will on my own, but that God already knows that and He is standing there to be my strength when I have none and be my wisdom when I feel lost.

  32. Leah Swindon says:

I love the continued prophesies of peace:. Can you imagine the enormity of nations not needing to train for war anymore?

Micah 4:3 He will judge between many peoples
and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation,
nor will they train for war anymore.
4 Everyone will sit under their own vine
and under their own fig tree,
and no one will make them afraid,
for the Lord Almighty has spoken.
5 All the nations may walk
in the name of their gods,
but we will walk in the name of the Lord
our God for ever and ever.

    1. Nicole111 says:

where it says they can have their gods, but we will walk in the name of the Lord forever . it seems like its ok that others worship different gods? that can’t be, can it?

      1. Olivia says:

I think it just means that people will have their own gods, (not glorifying or endorsing that practice) but saying that we will be the Lord’s.

  33. Katrina says:

Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

In my terms, why worry about haters in our Earthly world when the Lord loves us so much and has our back more than anyone else could?

  34. Nicole says:

I love this whole chapter of Romans! What great nuggets of truth to start the week–
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
