    29Put false ways far from me
    and graciously teach me your law!
    27Make me understand the way of your precepts,
    and I will meditate on your wondrous works.
    26When I told of my ways, you answered me;
    teach me your statutes!
    24Your testimonies are my delight;
    they are my counselors.
    48I will lift up my hands toward your commandments, which I love,
    and I will meditate on your statutes.
    37Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things;
    and give me life in your ways.

    It’s so interesting reading Paul’s message in Romans about the laws and the commands the Jewish church in Rome were so determined to follow and measure the Gentiles worthiness against, and THEN reading this Psalm which is all about finding joy and love and justice in the laws—finding understanding and deeper faith in following God’s word.

  12. Sarah Johnson says:

    It struck me how many times this chapter says “meditate”! On gods decrees, wonders, and precepts. Meditating requires slowing down, stillness, and quietness. We have to fight to incorporate each of those into our busy daily routines.

  17. Lalli Guerra says:

    Today is a special day for me, it is my first time having this drive to want to read my bible in a very very long time . I was always raised in a Christian baptist home and always felt the obligation of being the perfect Christian daughter in my family . I began to stray away from the pressure and that meant pushing everything out ! I realize now that I am doing this for myself and myself only for my personal connection with Jesus ! It is so amazing to know that there are other women willing to do the same thing in a living community

    1. Kristen says:

      Praise God for your drive! Keep it up and trust in Him to help you through. I’m actually more than half way through and I know I owe it all to Him. I actually can’t wait to finish and start back all over again.

      1. AnnieB says:

        Agreed!

  18. Megan says:

    33-40
    my whole life one long, obedient response.**

    invigorate me on the pilgrim way.**
    These words need to be words I pray over my own life. Also I love how the message version used the word ‘invigorate’ (to give life or energy), I don’t want to go day to day casually

  19. Minji says:

  22. AnnieB says:

    Aaaaah! Like a warm blanket and cup of hot cocoa in the middle of winter. Psalm 119. My favorite. I was looking forward to hearing these words again- and next few Wednesdays too! I hope you love it as much as i do! It’s like a love song and a pledge of faithfulness to God. I feel all warm and in love with His Word – His way of leading, guiding, protecting, blessing us. I always think it is worth noting this psalm is 3x longer than any other psalm. It really drives home how important it is to have a living relationship with God’s Word and ways.

  28. Emily says:

    26 When I told of my ways you answered me

    so often we forget to truly come to the LORD with our ways, both good and back.. then we are disappointed when he’s not “responding” as we want.
    I do this so often. I assume that God knows my problems, my thanksgivings, and my sins. But I need to truly come to him- then he will answer me!

  29. Christine P says:

    32 I will run in the way of your commandments

  33. Kristen S says:

    I have been feeling so… Off lately. I couldn’t put my finger on it. I couldn’t think of any one thing that was weighing me down and yet I felt heavy, bogged down, like something was hovering over me and I couldn’t breathe. Today my church started a series on spiritual warfare and it was like a light turned on. Our pastor discussed the importance of BEING in the word daily, KNOWING the word intimately and MEMORIZING/writing it in/on our hearts. Then I read this Psalm and I feel like life has been breathed back into me. I think the enemy was just weighing me down, trying to cast me into my old traps of anxiety, stress and maybe even depression. But I have a great and mighty Father who came and provided me with just what I needed to get back up and keep going. Praise Him! Thank you Jesus!

    1. Caris Nickerson says:

      Kristen thank you for those words, I’ve felt similarly and often forget about the battle that we face spiritually every moment of every day. this is so encouraging, praise the lord for my sisters in Christ.

    2. Hesaved83 says:

      Kristen,

      My pastor on the exact same thing! Hallelujah!!!

    3. mybelle101 says:

      Our pastor is also doing a series on spiritual warfare! Today he spoke on the weapons that we have against Satan – the sword of the Spirit (the word of God), and also PRAYER. I’m praying for all believers in these days, because I do think that the Church is under attack. Praise God, the victory is already won!

  34. Laura says:

    37 Turn my eyes
    from looking at what is worthless;
    give me life in Your ways.
    38 Confirm what You said to Your servant,
    for it produces reverence for You.
    39 Turn away the disgrace I dread;
    indeed, Your judgments are good.
    40 How I long for Your precepts!
    Give me life through Your righteousness.

    41 Let Your faithful love come to me, Lord,
    Your salvation, as You promised.

    Truth! So humbling and so good! So needed! Like the air I breathe! So thankful for our good Father who gives so freely of Himself in His word! Thank God! In this broken life and terrifying world we have HOPE in HIM ALONE!!!

  35. Leah Swindon says:

    119: 36 Turn my heart toward your statutes
    and not toward selfish gain.
    37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
