    I love “oh god who I praise, do not remain silent.” Especially with all of the injustices and protests happening right now, it is powerful to remember that we can call on God to speak and to act!

  13. Deb says:

    I’ve been in a bible reading slump. I’m going to try to be consistent again. First day back in – well, I hate to admit it, but – years.

    I resisted the urge to skim through and read the whole thing. Here’s to starting new habits and rekindling a love for the Word!

    1. AnnieB says:

      Hooray Deb!! I cannot tell you how much this has helped me come alive in my Spirit! I’m 70+% through and i feel hungry to read and pray every day now. I feel more equipped to live my life and serve God and others because of this helpful tool keeping me in the Word ! I pray nothing will prevent you from picking it up every day!

    2. SarahMay says:

      This is great! Some days it will feel like a chore, but after a while, as you ask the Lord to meet with you each day, you’ll be amazed at how He speaks through His Word every day, no matter your situation! Give Him time, don’t rush through the readings, but sit & ponder the ones that strike you or that you don’t understand. The comments can be helpful, but also let the Lord speak to you. :). We’re here with you! Welcome!

  14. Megan says:

    “He picks up the poor from out of the dirt,
    rescues the wretched who’ve been thrown out with the trash,
    Seats them among the honored guests,
    a place of honor among the brightest and best.”
    I love seeing how magnificent AND personal our God is. I love where it says, “He seats them among the honored guests.”

  15. Claire says:

    After a miscarriage earlier this year and a negative pregnancy test earlier this evening, Psalm 113:9 was a HUGE comfort to me!

    “He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord.”

    I couldn’t help but get emotional as I read that last verse. So thankful!

  17. Marlaena says:

    Really needed these psalms today. Last was a time of darkness for me and psalm 112:4 really helped me. 4 Light dawns in the darkness for the upright;
    he is gracious, merciful, and righteous. also, I found 112:7-8 to be encouraging as well. This summer came with a lot of devastating things for me and my husband and I so often fear the future, fear what may come. My prayer is that I would turn to the One who saves me, who delivers me from my fears. May we all find peace in our Lord and Saviour today.

    1. Victoria Brooks says:

      That’s so awesome! God is so faithful to show us that time and time again over the years he has never failed even in our fears.

    2. Emily Mitchell says:

      Praying for you, Marlaena. God is in control!

  18. Kamelia says:

    Perfect love casts out all fear and here in Psalms, they will have no fear in bad news shows that when we trust in God through faith and love, everything is in His hands. Together with the verse all things works together for the good to those who love Him. Then we are at a place of complete surrender we trust God in every way as what ever happens it’s all part of His perfect purpose for our life.

  19. Amanda P says:

    This is amazing. I recently was saved. With no expierence with church, this is a great read.

    1. Kirsten says:

      That’s awesome I hope you find yourself in a loving church soon and find peace and comfort in the arms of your Father God. Keep up the faith!!

  20. Jamiebug says:

    I have a dear friend that keeps speaking unbelief (negativity) over my life… Had this happened years ago I would’ve been terrified that everything she said would come to pass. Today I didn’t allow the words spoken over me to take root in my heart and I was just “dying” for Scriptural backing as I honestly battled to keep her words from replaying in my head over and over because I was so frustrated with her. Then I came across Psalm 112:7 “he will not be afraid of evil tidings” … I will not be afraid of her news. Is what she said true? Probably not because she is speaking from a place of pain… But even if it turned out to be true I won’t be afraid of evil tidings because “unto the upright there arises light in the darkness” psalm 112:4 Amen!!

  21. Christina D. says:

    7 They will have no fear of bad news;
    their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
    I am so utterly blessed by the Lord and yet at times I live in fear of bad news. This is a reminder for me to continue growing a steadfast heart. This is an area that I know the devil exploits as trust is an area of weakness for me. Lord, allow me to have peace knowing I can daily learn to trust in you until we meet in eternity.

    1. Alexis D. says:

      I also struggle with this! God has been so good to me and yet I fear the future and inevitable changes in my life. This verse really hit home and was a great reminder to trust in the lord and have faith.

    2. Heidi L says:

      Unfortunately it seems we will all, at some point in life, get that “bad news”. But, we are commanded not to fear. Even in the midst of the worst news, we can trust in the character of our God. As we know Him more intimately, our trust grows. We learn to accept (not necessarily “like”) that everything He has allowed to enter our lives has first been filtered through His fingers of love, because God is love. It is still hard for me to fathom all this and I am still learning to trust Him completely, but I am on the path. I know that I know that I know that He is worthy and to fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
      So glad to be on the path with all you SRT ladies!

    3. Lauren says:

      Amen, I have the same fear. Praise God we can live in peace!

  22. Leah Swindon says:

    David is so real in psalm 109. He pours out his heart without holding back..even his acknowledgement that prayer is his first response.
    V9: in rerun for my love they accuse me, but I give myself in prayer.
    May we not hold back in our prayers. God already knows our heart, so why do we (by this I mean “me”) try to clean up our words?

  23. Shirl says:

    9 He gives the barren woman a home,
    making her the joyous mother of children.
    Praise the Lord! Holding on to his promises today although sometimes I wonder if it’s true for everyone but me

    1. Amy-Jo says:

      I hold on to the same promise. God is faithful, his word is true! We can trust it and know we will not be barren forever. He has good plans, even for us!

    2. Elizabeth says:

      I feel ya, girl! One day… ❤️

  24. mce says:

    Im praying this over those who see it as their reality today, I imagine Arab Christians, the persecuted church around the world.

    30 With my mouth I will give great thanks to the Lord;
    I will praise him in the midst of the throng.
    31 For he stands at the right hand of the needy one,
    to save him from those who condemn his soul to death.

  25. Katrina P says:

    Today is a day to truly be blessed and grateful for His love and direction! Psalm 110:2 Great are the works of the Lord,
    studied by all who delight in them.
    3 Full of splendor and majesty is his work,
    and his righteousness endures forever.
    4 He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered;
    the Lord is gracious and merciful.

  26. Becky says:

    I am overwhelmed with two big lists I found…One in chapter 111 and one in chapter 112. The first is a list of incredible characteristics of our God, and the second a list of all the blessings promised to the righteous. My big notebook is full, and I have a great outline for prayer today!!

    1. mce says:

      Can i ask how you outline?

    2. Katie R says:

      Love this! Went back and did it and am feeling so blessed by all these promises and characteristics of the big God we have!
