  1. Jennifer says:

    Paul. The Holy Spirit tells him he will face persecutions there yet he goes regardless. Devotion.

  2. Tarnz says:

    Paul! What a man! Compelled by the Spirit of God, followed with obedience in faith knowing basic information still trusted, loved with a genuine love those he taught, prayed and weeped together and continued to warn and encourage – worked hard to look after himself and his companions (practical) so not to be a burden, but a blessing, generous – far better to give than to receive. Bold in sharing the gospel and willing to impart to bless and encourage others to flourish – secure in his identity and calling.

  3. Lauragb says:

    not knowing what will happen to me there, 23except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and afflictions await me. 24But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

    Lord help us surrender our lives in humility and trust, as he did!

  4. Cristy says:

    “24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”
    ~~~wow, this spoke to me, no…more than that…Gods word DEALT with me tonight with this one verse. I heard this past Sunday that only one in three people are Christians in our state of Mississippi…in the BIBLE belt!? I cringe as I think of how and why… busy being busy with what? Will it be so important for eternity? What did I do this week to build His kingdom? I confess -not much outside of my own home, and not even enough within my home… This is my memory verse for the coming week!
    1. Heidi L says:
      Great insight on our busy-ness Cristy. Thank you!
    2. Monica Mckinny says:
      Catching up & yes, Christy these spoke to me too! How courageous Paul is & his words were needed by me as well!
  5. Jamiebug says:
    But none of these things move me… Nor do I count my life dear to myself. Acts 20:24. I don’t want to be moved by any trial or affliction and I don’t want to count my life dear to myself… Because it’s better to give than to receive!
  6. Julia says:
    What stood out to me was how Paul said that he wasn’t to be blamed if they turned from God since he had told them the whole will of God. This reminds me how we are surrounded by people who need to hear His word and it is our duty in life to proclaim it to them as much as possible. I find it fairly difficult to speak to non-believers about God, but I hope that by reading more of His word and praying I can be given the right things to say when it’s most important. Thank you Jesus for giving me words so that I don’t have to rely on my own mind to attempt to portray your love!
  7. Katrina P says:
    So much passion and sorrow from Paul’s declaration in Acts today – I’m reminded to always be open and passionate as unashamed of His Love! 35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
    1. Hesaved83 says:
      Amen!
  8. mce says:
    24 The Lord of hosts has sworn:
    “As I have planned,
    so shall it be,
    and as I have purposed,
    so shall it stand,
    In light of all his promises as well as the foretold destruction (like we’ve been reading in Daniel) i think ive come to cherish even more his soveriegnty over all.
    Come Lord Jesus, come.
