Praise the Lord! He is faithful. He delivered his people from hardship and made a path for them hundreds of years in advance. He will deliver us from plague and hardship today and we can trust he has a plan that extends throughout our entire life. Praise the Lord.
This psalm extensively recounts the deeds God has done to remember and praise Him. May we also often recall how the Lord has redeemed us and given us an eternal life we have not earned.
Much needed today! As Hurricane Dorian bears Florida and we prepare, knowing God is, and always Has been in charge, puts my mind at ease. He rules the wind and sea!
I can’t help but read this psalm and not think of everyone in Texan and Louisiana who have been faced with such tragedy the past week during hurricane Harvey. As this psalm recounts the book of exodus and all the Israelites endured and overcame my heart prays that every soul overcoming what seems like insurmountable sorrow and loss will keep their eye in God and how He will bring them out of what appears hopeless in the moment. Do not grow weary Texans. God will lead you to His promised land and provide all you need. Surrender, follow Him, and accept His will over your own. My prayers are with you.
I’m new here, I’ve never read the Bible and finished, but I’m excited to learn about Gods word and go on this journey, I really enjoyed my first reading!
Sisters, may I ask you to please pray for Houston? I live there but am away and unable to return due to severe flooding, and my coworkers are stuck in the hospital 24/7 since Friday without relief. My sister is there with a 14 day old baby and 4yo son, husband, and my parents, no power, but thankfully no flooding in their home. It is very difficult and will be a long road to recovery. Yet we know:
Ps 105: 42 For He remembered His holy promise
to Abraham His servant.
43 He brought His people out with rejoicing,
His chosen ones with shouts of joy.
44 He gave them the lands of the nations,
and they inherited what other peoples had worked for.
I have prayed- but appreciate the ability to do it more personally and with passion. I’m a nurse. I cannot imagine the difficulties your coworkers are experiencing!
May God resolve all the problems and bless you and your family especially the new born abundantly with his eternal love and grace. May God be the fortress to all those who are suffering there. Amen
What a great reading! Also, August 30 is the start of my board exams, I was just reminded that our God is a promise keeper and that He is faithful. Pray for me as I take my 2 days Pharmacy licensure board exams.
Loved today’s reading! We will face things that will challenge our faith but God will never fail us, we have to remember he is always with us through the good and the bad and always give him the praise he deserves!
the first verse of this chapter is just amazing! “Give praise to the Lord , proclaim His name;” this makes me think…..first verse, first part of your day, praise Him!!! profound
I love the theme of this Psalm…remembering what God has done and the promises He has kept. As the psalmist recounts the miracles and covenants kept through Joseph and Moses I wonder how the psalm of my life would read. Lord, today I ask you to bring to mind reminders of your faithfulness through the years of my life. You have always provided and kept Your promises to me. Nothing I can do would ever be enough so let me only and always say thank you Lord. You have been my comforter, provider, healer, and father. Thank you.
Turning to the Lord is always the direction we want to be in! Not just in our actions but in our hearts and our TRUST – His love will then be with us always!
43 So he brought his people out with joy,
his chosen ones with singing.
44 And he gave them the lands of the nations,
and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples’ toil,
45 that they might keep his statutes
and observe his laws.
Praise the Lord!
37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
Truly a reminder of His great loving kindness. This verse has resounded with me in a very really way today.
“Seek his presence continually”…this is what jumped out to me today, and every time I read this Psalm. The ongoing communion of my soul with the Almighty God is the the answer I’m always searching for everywhere else. He would be the balm to my anxiety, the joy to my discouragement, and the lifter of my head…and he graciously is as soon as I run to him, however delayed that moment is!
43 So he brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with singing.
God delivers His people. Always. I wonder how many times I forget to say thanks and praise Him for what He had done for me? Praise the Lord that He is always good when I am not.
39 He spread a cloud for a covering,
and fire to give light by night.
40 They asked, and he brought quail,
and gave them bread from heaven in abundance.
Such a good reminder that he can do anything and cares for us so much!
14 he allowed no one to oppress them;
he rebuked kings on their account,
15 saying, “Touch not my anointed ones,
do my prophets no harm!” —-and so He still does for us today, though we do not always see it. He is our Protector.
Such joy in these verses!!
Let us not forget. He…
God is always working.
He remembers His promises to His people.
He is faithful.

Awesome word and different from the books we’ve been reading

This helped me to remember God is always faithful! He gives us our daily bread, strengthens us in faith, and helps us through the tough times!
43So he brought his people out with joy,
his chosen ones with singing. -ellie

Love how this psalms is a summary of the book of Exodus the story about the children of Israel-Jeshurun.
I loved this too!
Thank you everyone. The rain has stopped (but moved on to LA unfortunately), and now recovery begins.
Definitely praying, SarahMay!

Such good insight Amber, sometimes it can be hard to remember this but thank you for the reminder I needed it today!
God always fulfills his promises. He watches out for us and blesses us in ways we would think impossible. With God, nothing is impossible.
5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
Yes I will remember!! How Mighty you are, God!!
