  1. Abigail McQueen says:

    I woke up this morning uncomfortable and was unable to get back to sleep; opening the curtains wide, the morning sun illuminated the long grass fields and played among the creatures of the fog-drenched mountains. How amazing was the sight! I was in such awe at God’s work and had to stop and thank Him for such beauty. Then, unable to get back to sleep I looked to read some truth of God’s word. Proverbs 4:18 speaks so clearly and beautifully about not only what glory the righteous may gain from God, but just the overall splendour of God’s glory! Such an inspiring verse that I feel God blessed me with especially on this day. I know it’s so difficult to stay on the right path when I am at school, but all I need do is trust in God with my wisdom and He will lead me! And what a rewarding outcome lies in store: “the shining sun that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day”! (Proverbs 4:18)

    1. SarahMay says:

      Put His Word first in all you do (even at school), and you will stay on the right path! Proverbs will show us more of that. StaY with us (or spend some time in His Word) each day–not only when you can’t sleep :) Praying for you!

    2. Haley says:

      Abigail- What I love about Jesus is that if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us (James 4:8). Keeping drawing near to Him at school and He will be there! You’ve got this. He isn’t going anywhere and He’s with you always!

  2. Neva says:

    I love the 18th verse in Proverbs 4.

    “But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.”

    It paints a picture of increasing light upon the path of the believer…just as a sunrise begins with the faint glow of dawn and continues shining brighter and brighter to the splendor of the noonday. ~

    The more we trust Jesus, the more we believe His words…the more we put our faith in Him, the brighter our path becomes.

    Beautiful.

    1. Reagan says:

      I love how you said “The more we trust Jesus, the more we believe His words…the more we put our faith in Him, the brighter our path becomes” it clarified the passage for me.

  3. Scary thing Gods power in that last story of acts….

  4. HeatherMarie says:

    When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. After a restless and wakeful night when I struggled to pray and my mind kept wandering, seeing that reminder this morning is sweet. I kept this verse and meditated on it during those moments before, but couldn’t bring it to mind last night. God doesn’t forget. He is so good!

    1. RoseBergamot says:

      Amen!

  5. Shari says:

    25 Let your eyes look directly forward,
    and your gaze be straight before you.
    26 Ponder the path of your feet;
    then all your ways will be sure. – Proverbs 4:25-26

    Last night, during our night service, my pastor said that the best advice he could ever give us is to think of all that comes with our decisions. How it’s never just the choice, but the choice and “all of its friends”. This scripture reinforced for me that I need to truly think about my choices.

    1. Milanie says:

      Hi Shari,
      What if your own choices is not the best for you?

  6. Kelly says:

    9 Honor the Lord with your wealth,
    with the firstfruits of all your crops;
    10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
    and your vats will brim over with new wine.

    Wow I love how tithing is mentioned here in Proverbs, this is definitely a wise thing to do!

  7. Kaily says:

    24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
    when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
    25 Have no fear of sudden disaster
    or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
    26 for the Lord will be at your side
    and will keep your foot from being snared. <3

      Love these verses! God is so good :)

  8. Alyssa Cunningham says:

    Who is the “she” the bible is referring to?

    1. Emily S says:

      In 3:14, it says that it is Wisdom.

    2. Emily S says:

      Or sorry, 13. It helps Solomon use those illustrations, and I think it was something Hebrews did a lot in their writing.
