    Loved the Song of Solomon
Oh how much he lives us. Imagine when we get to see him face time face on that glorious day!

  5. Lisa Egnew says:

12And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

  6. Holly Mather says:

The Bible Project video on the Song of Solomon was really helpful for me to understand this book more!

  8. D R says:

    ✝️

  9. Sarah Johnson says:

In acts it says the Sanhedrin saw the COURAGE of Peter and John and realized they were followers of Christ. How cool that we can be characterized by our courage.

  10. Kaity Strong says:

Song of Solomon has always been a complete mystery to me, but I’m currently listening to a sermon series on the text through The Porch! It pushes me to pray for my future husband and my conduct as a woman now.

And there is salvation in no one else!!

  13. JoAnn Foley-DeFiore says:

12And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” What a great speech about faith in Jesus from one who had recently denied even knowing Jesus (Peter!)

  14. Eri Antoinette says:

    Amen!

  15. Sharon Ide says:

As the church today, may we also speak the truth with great boldness and have great power and great grace as we live as the light of the world.

  16. Tiffany Strickland says:

I have to admit I don’t understand the Song of Solomon….

    1. Bailey says:

It is both about the love and attraction between man and wife, as well as God’s love for us.

  17. Brittany Ann Goodrich says:

You go Peter and John! You guys are rocking it! Telling them how it is! ;)

  18. lesa says:

“Acts 4-12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” This verse caught my eye today, as well as one a few verses down which said that even those who had slain Jesus on the cross couldn’t deny that he was risen and healed. That just shows the awesome power of god, he can heal anyone.

  19. Kylee says:

“For we cannot but speak what we have seen and heard” — a good reminder that when we talk about all the things God has done for us, we are witnesses of His goodness to people who may not have experienced it. Another way we can be salt & light daily in a dark & unsavory world.

    1. Brittany Ann Goodrich says:

      Amen!

  20. after reading Acts 4 all I have to say is PRAISE JESUS. i think so many times in life we get ridiculed for being a Christian and proclaiming the name of Jesus that we put ourselves down. If the world can be loud about sin, we need to be even louder about SALVATION!! Go into the world and be a Peter today :-)

Hello SRT ladies! I know it’s probably a long shot that anyone reads this since I am about 6 months late in starting it but I thought I’d give it a go. I’m having a hard time reading song of Solomon as I think about what a womanizer he was and how many wives he had. I feel like everything that’s written is ridiculous because their love for each other was not even strong enough to be faithful to one another! I know it’s supposed to be an analogy for Christ and his church but why would he use a well known adulterer to make this analogy? This is the one book that I’ve always questioned why it’s even in the bible.

    1. RoseBergamot says:

I was wondering the same. It seems based on my research about that topic bc it was bothering me too that Solomon knew what Gods plan for love and marriage should be but chose to follow a different path in his life. It was his undoing bc his many wives turned his heart towards other Gods and he worshiped them.

    2. Britt C says:

Maybe Song of Solomon was written before he turned to have many wives? Maybe this was in reference to his first wife? I am not sure but will look into it today.

    3. SusieAmb says:

It reminds me that God uses us sinners, the most unlikely for the job. So we keep our focus on God and not on man. We don’t know if the song was written by Solomon or to him, but what we do know is that Solomon asked God for His wisdom and got it. It was as treasure in a jar of clay. Ultimately Solomon’s own pride caused him to fall, as it did for so many people in the Bible in different ways, but that doesn’t negate the truth God imparted to him. Solomon finishing weak serves as another warning to us that we can so often know truth but not act on it

      1. RoseBergamot says:

        Very good point!

  22. Natalie A Lewis says:

Only Acts :/ I also lost my purchase of The Gospel :/

  23. Antimony says:

Acts 4:11 “This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone”. Just because people – lots of people – rejected Him didn’t change His use/purpose.

    1. Claudia says:

Indeed, that rejection was in profesy.

  24. Sarah says:

    Only seeing acts :(

    1. Antimony says:

This has been discussed on previous days. Just read it in the Bible section of the app …

  25. Rachel says:

Anyone else only seeing part of the passage listed ? All I saw was acts, no Song of Songs?

    1. Spartan7Wife says:

      Me too

      1. Whitney.d says:

        Me too!

    2. Natalie A Lewis says:

Me too :( I also lost The Gospel, it shuts off on me when I turn it on!

  26. Brittany says:

Verse 20 in Acts spoke to been feeling down about my direction in life and knowing that our job and passion is “To not stop speaking about what we’ve seen and heard” That’s our only focus all other things are secondary!

  27. Katelinl says:

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.

I loved that people were able to see and recognize that these men had spent time in Jesus’ presence. I hope my time spent with him changes me.

    1. Jenny Jewell says:

I hope it changes me as well! Such a great thought!

  28. Ellie says:

The Song of Songs passages just really spoke to me as a young woman heading off to college and facing all kinds of new temptations. My bible says that this book is often looked at as an illustration of Christ’s love for the church, and keeping that in mind while I read it, I felt like Christ was really just showing me his love and pointing out things that helped me see how loved I am. It was just an encouraging read in such a transition time in my life.

    1. Bre says:

I’m praying for you! As a sophomore in college, I completely know where you’re coming from, as I faced that last year! But the Lord will be with you, wherever you go.

  29. Alexis says:

Song of Songs 8:6 Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm;for love is as strong as death… This verse was on our wedding announcements 40.5 years ago. Faith and committed love can conquer all.

    1. Heidi L says:

Wow 40 1/2 years. Congratulations. Through thick & thin… Amazing!

  30. Clare says:

Hi she’s I hope it’s not too bold for me to ask for your prayers and thoughts. Our little cat got hit by a car and is struggling in little cat hospital! I know he is ‘just’ a pet but he is one of gods creatures and is our baby. Read his full story on our fund me page http://www.gofundme.com/g86eq7mk3u

Unfortunately I messed up on the insurance and so his treatment isn’t covered. We really want him to come home and our praying everyday for this! It would mean so much if you could too!

    Thanks, C

    1. Lyndsay says:

      Praying!

    2. Pam Blum says:

My dog is not “just a pet” to me either. She is a member of the family and if she was sick I would ask my friends to pray. I hope that he is able to pull through and get better!

  31. Emily S says:

There’s a song I’ve heard called “You Won’t Relent”, and I didn’t realize it came from Song of Solomon 8:6-7. It’s challenging me again to look to God, and of his jealousy for my heart to be His.

    1. ShannonNichole says:

I love that song Emily. It’s one of my favorites. These verses really speak to God’s fierce and unrelenting love for us.

    2. Kylee says:

Pulled this up to listen as I was reading too. So much love for that song, and the relevancy that He is jealous for our whole hearts. I love that.

  32. Sara says:

20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
I pray that I would have the courage to be like that all my life!

  33. Ariadne says:

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The Name of Jesus is so powerful. Its saving power alone is immeasurable..in bad situations and in life. His name saves me every time.

  34. Mary says:

What do you have against the Song of Solomon? Lol

    1. April McLendon says:

      Lol!!

      1. Caryn says:

Noticed that.. Why is Song of Solomon not in the daily reading?

    2. SandyK says:

I contacted SRT about this and they said because Song of Solomon has different names in different translations, the app is having trouble with it. They are working on it.

      1. Emily S says:

It’s been working for me in ESV, if that helps at all.

There’s a song I’ve heard called “You Won’t Relent”, and I didn’t realize it came from Song of Solomon. It’s challenging me again to look to God, and of his jealousy for my heart to be His.

        1. Christine says:

Emily, I love that song!! Misty Edwards does it and it’s my favorite version of that song.

        2. Pam Blum says:

Hmm… My default translation used to be NIV and then a few months ago it automatically switched to ESV, but I never got any of the Song of Solomon readings on here. Good thing we can pull out our actual Bibles and keep reading. :-)

      2. Christine says:

Thanks for asking about that and letting us know!
