24For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.
i pray that i can be unashamed of God and have the faith in Him -ellie

  2. Sharon Ide says:

Remembering that Chronicles were written for the people who returned from exile to be reminded of God’s faithfulness, I would imagine these passages to be so encouraging to them. To recount the myriad of men of great ability designated to lead and serve the Lord in His Kingdom, we get a picture of our heavenly service to the Lord in the new Jerusalem to come.

  3. Mamarae says:

I think that we all posses that amount of faith bc the Holy Spirit is in us. I think it’s a question of how much of that faith do we really exercise. Jesus does say that faith the size of a mustard seed can say to the mountain MOVE and the mountain will move. It’s all about how much do we want to trust GOD! I know that’s it for me.

      Love this!!

  4. Antimony says:

Luke 9:25 “For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?”

    1. carli moriarty says:

its like the song “lose my soul”.. “i don’t wanna gain the whole world and lose my soul”

  5. Laura Badham says:

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 Jesus has an almighty amount of faith to take the 5 loaves and 2 fish to feed 100 groups of 50!! By sight, the numbers just don’t add up, but by faith they DO!! I don’t think that I would ever be able to have that amount of faith. Do you?

  6. Shannon Roe says:

What struck me today was again God’s sovereignty. Peter and the disciples see Jesus as He is- the Messiah. Yet, He tells them to be quiet during that time, because He had to suffer and be rejected by the leaders. Oh for grace- daily- to discern the times and act according to His plan in each moment.

    1. AmandaH. says:

Thank you for pointing this out!! Great point

  7. Suzanne says:

It’s interesting that the people would believe that one of the prophets from long ago might have risen from the dead to come speak to them again, but later on could not believe that Jesus had been raised from the dead! I’m sure we ask do similar things, believing I something we don’t know, and denying what we do know. Lord, help my unbelief become belief, even when it seems impossible.

    1. Gabrielle says:

Wow good point! I’m reading “the case for Christ” by lee strobel and he makes a similar comment.

    2. AnnieB says:

My own adult kids believe in demons and spirits but reject the idea of one supreme Spirit of love. I try to point out the inconsistency. I pray they will see it one day and can accept a relationship with our triune God.

      1. Haley says:

Praying for your children right now, Annie!

  8. Sally says:

23 And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. Daily… Jesus knew we would need help and need to be reminded to make this a part of our everyday! Come. Deny self. Take up cross. Follow Him.

    1. Terri says:

I noticed the “daily” also. Not only take up cross… Follow is a daily choice
