    The replies that Jesus quotes to Satan from Deuteronomy are really interesting! I flipped back to Deuteronomy and found that 1. Bread sustains but it doesn’t guarantee life which is God’s gift to those who trust in him and live by his word and 2. Emphasis is scripture is always on what God does and not on what his people achieve. We can’t forget what God has done for us.

    This God – his way is perfect;
    The word of the LORD proves true;
    He is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.

    So I’m reading this late but I thought about how crazy powerful jesus reading Isaiah in the synagogue to fulfill scripture. It just blew me away that God has everything timed out perfectly from our living and breathing scripture to our lives. It is so beautiful and renewing my faith!
