We are not to associate with people who claim to be believers and act otherwise. Yes everyone is sinful but he’s talking about blatant lifestyle of sin and claiming to be a Christian. That is pure hypocrisy and does so much harm to the name of Christ followers. The goal is to have them open their eyes to their hypocrisy and hopefully long for spiritual relationship again.

I feel like it’s a hard line to draw between trying to love believers who do these things and turn them away from what they’re doing, and doing what Paul says which is to “not even eat” with them. It’s hard because I feel like we are first called to love everyone, even believers who sin, but I guess the difference is constantly spending time with a believer who lives in sin will eventually make you question the principles of your own belief.
