  1. Cindy says:

2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, I feel like this is what He is saying to us as we struggle through the OT. Violence. Treatment of women. Solid food that maybe we still aren’t ready for but He is giving it to us anyway. Pray the the Holy Spirit interprets and advises us through this.

    1. SarahMay says:

Amen. In 1 Cor 2 it talks about how we have the Spirit and He reveals spiritual things to us, for we have the mind of Christ. I don’t understand so much–even though I’ve known & followed Jesus and studied his word for so long. It is a journey, not a destination for sure! Once we think we know it all and have it all figured out, we no longer need the Holy Spirit. Thankful He continues to teach and reveal His loving character, goodness, and faithfulness.

  2. Lauren S says:

12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.
So convicted by this tonight. I can’t help but ask myself if I have built anything that will survive the fire. Lord, help me to build great things for your glory!

    1. Courtney says:

This was so powerful to me too. More so in that right now I feel like I’m going through fire. I know it’s God’s way of purifying me, but it’s hard right now. What an encouragement that there is a reward for being obedient in this time!

  3. Antimony says:

Joshua 14:11-12 Joshua wasn’t one to quietly retire. He didn’t take a section that was already conquered. He said, “[Im still strong! Give me that mountain!”] Don’t give up. Press on

    1. Hesaved83 says:

Antimony, I thought that was Caleb, at the age of 85, asking Joshua, for the Hebron, land as a blessing from the Lord?

  4. Traci says:

Today’s reading was really hard for me to follow and stay focused. Any advice when it comes to reading books like Joshua? I’m much more focused when it comes to Psalms and Proverbs, it seems.

    1. Gabrielle says:

It’s hard for me also Traci! Other women’s comments usually help me understand what is important in catalog sections like today’s. It also helps (if you have time) to look up commentaries or use a study bible. Those highlight the significance of each place or even show you the great land the God helped Joshua conquer!

      1. Alisa says:

That’s true! I may not always agree with Matthew Henry, but I added an icon on my phone screen that links to his full online commentary (http://www.biblestudytools.com/commentaries/matthew-henry-complete/). It helps me focus or gives me a starting point for some trickier passages.

        1. Traci says:

          Thanks gals!!

    2. Ali says:

Ditto! I have really struggled with most of the OT so far :/

  5. Reylena says:

6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
We all play a part into building Gods kingdom! Each of us has a gift according to his grace! Thankful the part I get to play in Gods story of redemption

    1. Kelly says:

Amen! That’s how I felt when I read this portion too

  6. Shirl says:

33 But to the tribe of Levi, Moses had given no inheritance; the Lord, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he promised them.
We all have an inheritance from the Lord but it may not be the same as others but we have our role for the kingdom. Help us to live purposefully fulfilling our destiny and identity in Christ. He is our reward

  7. Yana says:

16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

Our bodies are God’s temple. What a responsibility we have to keep the temple pure, an earthly example of Our Father’s expectations.

    1. Ali says:

I liked that verse too! A great reminder that we must take care of our physical bodies as well as our spiritual ones!

    2. Carol Pinett says:

I think that sometimes we forget how Important we are! We hold inside us the Greatest and most Powerful Being in the whole wide universe and yet we belittle ourselves when we let our enemy play tricks on us and sue our mouths to speak words against what God has already spoken. This verse is powerful and important; it reminds us how valuable we are because He has given us that value and decided to dwell inside us! We must love ourselves and take care of ourselves inside and out to make this temple the best it can be for our God.

      1. Dee says:

I need to remember this, thank you Carol – “We hold inside us the Greatest and most Powerful Being in the whole wide universe and yet we belittle ourselves when we let our enemy play tricks on us and sue our mouths to speak words against what God has already spoken.”

  8. Yannah Suazo says:

God always have an inheritance for all of us. Stay blessed sisters! God loves you no matter where you’re at!

    1. Shirl says:

      Thank you for that reminder
