Ps 46:10 may well be my life verse! For many years I thought be still meant sit in a chair, ha! It really means “cease striving” – stop trying to MAKE everything happen and let God be in control!

  38. Mirren says:

I am so in awe of God this morning! I’m about three months behind, but I so needed this this morning, and bam! There it was. I’m about to sit an exam that I’m so nervous for and feeling really unprepared, and God has reminded me this morning that he provides and is so much bigger and mightier than any problems that come my way. Reading this passage this morning showed me yet again that not only is God enormous and awesome, creating the universe and setting the course of eternity, but he is also present in the smallest aspects of our lives, like picking what bible passages we read each day. So thankful that I’m reading this today in July rather than in April, because I don’t think it would have resonated as strongly!!

    1. Cindy says:

Good luck on your exam!! Although God has it so no luck needed!!

  39. Christy Morris says:

It’s amazing how you can be struggling your way through life and then you open your Bible study plan and find the encouragement you e been needing. It’s like smack from God saying “Stop trying to figure it out by yourself and trust me!” I so very much needed this today.

Surrender is so hard but so worth the peace of mind!!

  40. Heather says:

Psalms 46:5 “God is in the midst of her; She shall not be moved;” I love this so much. I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but I feel unbreakable when I read this. I know God is with me through the roughest times. I know I’ll get through it. I won’t be beaten, fall, or moved because he is with me. Psalms paints such a beautiful picture for us here. God has placed us here for a reason, he knows us, He knows this beautiful Earth, and He loves us. That’s definitely something to celebrate and rejoice over. It fills my heart with gratitude. I might be so off on my “interpretation” but I like it.

    1. Melinda says:

Absolutely! God is with us at every moment. He is our strength and our savior. I fell in love with these lines:
      Psalms
1 God is our refuge and strength,
a helper who is always found
      in times of trouble.
2 Therefore we will not be afraid,
      though the earth trembles
      and the mountains topple
into the depths of the seas,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with its turmoil.

  43. Ann says:

Its is a comforting moment as i read to know that as i woke up crying the lord God in verse 5 says that he is with me and will comfort me in the midst of my sadness he is with me. 45. Gabrielle says:

There is such beauty and reassurance in these verses today! I want to remember these throughout the week, to “fix these words on [my] heart and mind” (Deut 11:18). In a season of patience, it’s comforting to know that God is continually working.

    1. Amanda says:

We talked about fear today in church. And that even though we are told by the world that we have to have it all together and it’s all up to us , it is really up to God. He is with us always and he has a plan for us. Psalm 46 really speaks to this

Psalm 46:1-2: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. Therefore we will not fear…”
This is just what I needed to hear this morning! Thank you God for always being there for me, for always loving me, for giving me hope even during hard times; I love you Lord!

  49. Colleen says:

vs 5: God is within her; she will not be toppled. God will help her when the morning dawns.
Though, in this verse, he is talking about Israel – it is also true of us in a personal sense. I am going to stand on this! May it be so today, Lord!

  50. Antimony says:

Psalm 46:10 “Be STILL (cease striving) and KNOW that I am God”. Stop fighting. Stop doubting. Stop looking for a loophole. Just be still. And believe.

  52. Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise! For the LORD Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth. (‭Psalms‬ ‭47‬:‭1-2‬ NLT)

Let’s make much of Him today at church and then carry that with us throughout the week! He is worthy of ALL our praise! Make Him famous!!
