Exodus 14:14

Today, as a body of women, let’s meditate on and memorize God’s truth. Not for our own glory or honor, but for the joy of our Father and the growth of His Truth in our hearts.

“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

This verse is new for me, but it brings: "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." (Psalms 55:22 KJV) and "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." (1 Peter 5:6, 7 KJV) to mind.

It's so easy for me… And lots of people I'm sure, to worry and fear and worry some more about all kinds of stuff in life. and really what does that that help? Nothing. It is verses like this that I need sometimes to remind me that God is always looking out for me and that I don't have to live with anxiety. He has got me through things in the past and He will continue always. What a wonderful God we have! I will add this verse to my ever growing list of favorites. :o)

One thing I do know, despite all my fear and questioning, God does love me and He will stand and fight for me against my enemies and we will not lose! I have become so overcome with emotion as I went back to Day 1 to catch up to you guys on Day 9 and I will as if a load has been lifted off my chest already. My eyes are stinging with tears, and I know this is just the Lord's way of saying, "I am touching your heart my darling child." I'm grateful to have come across a community of women that is so inspiring and encouraging and I ask that you all pray for my strength to continue in spite of how I may feel day to day. I love you all!

Sisters I really need your prayers today! I need guidance and strength! Love to you all! I know He is in control! And am so thankful!

  5. Kelda says:

Latesia: I am praying for you praying that our loving Father will replace those lonely times with his love and that you find all that you need in Him in your time of transition.

I am a take charge, let's get it done now kind of person. While I know in my heart God is fighting my battles for me, it is difficult for me to sit and "be silent". I want to jump in there and help. This study is teaching me that "He doesn't need my help". He wants me to have faith in HIm that He has it all under control and in his time, in his way, in his will He is taking care of my battles for me. Thanks for this reminder that all I have to do is lay it at his feet and He will fight for me. Have a blessed day.

So awesome to open this today and see this verse! I have been posting devotions all month on the Daniel Fast and today's was "When Others Intercede". How when he was thrown in the lions den the king was so distraught that HE fasted all night, wouldn't sleep and wouldn't listen to music. The first thing in the morning he runs to the lions den and calls for Daniel, “Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?”

“My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.” Daniel 6:20-22.

Daniel didn't have to do anything…he just had to be still and trust God. God fought for him, and others interceded! So inspired today! Thank you ladies for your encouraging comments.

    Blessed Sunday! ♥

Amy Kelley thanks for the Message translation, love it! I too memorized this verse last year and needed it then and now!

As a young woman who prefers to keep her hands busy and has a difficult time staying still, this verse resonates with where I have been at lately. Rather than over-plan and over-analyze, I have been patiently waiting on the Lord. When I grow restless, I pray or journal to Him and I am in awe at what He has been doing within my heart and mind. Have a beautiful Sunday dear sisters!

  10. Sheri says:

Funny, I meditated on this verse all day yesterday. For the longest time God was telling me, “be still and know” and now he’s telling me he’s going to fight for me, what do I have to do for that? “Be silent”.

I’ve been in turmoil over a particular area in my life and not knowing how it’s going to turn out is the worst because the unknown is scary! I’ve talked with God asking, most times pleading, with him on how to address my situation. Should I talk to this person or not? And here he’s telling me that he’s got this, I just need to not say a thing. It doesn’t say be quiet. It says be silent. Not a peep. So I am keeping this promise in my heart that as I type this he is fighting for me.

It’s a beautiful thing. I had to share my thoughts on this one today. Have a wonderful day, ladies!

So many times we are not silent until we finally give up control. We cry out and He says I was just waiting for you. He is always there to carry us.

  12. Tammy says:

Amen! Not always an easy task but when we wait and let him bring things to pass, in his way, it is better than anything we could have said or done. God is so awesome! Have a blessed Sunday! Loving the truth of this study! Thank you for your faithfulness to the Father.

This says to me…be still. Quit fidgeting, quit wringing your hands. Remember what God has done for you in the past. Hasn't he always come through and delivered you in such beautiful ways that you could've never imagined it for yourself? This time is no different. Be still so you don't manipulate the story and sell yourself short or delay the process. Just be still and trust that He is working behind the scenes making my blessing perfect and making my path smooth and straight. Thank you Heavenly Father that you want the best for me. Please help me lose all the anxiety and worry and only trust in you that in your perfect timing, you will deliver my perfect deliverance and blessing. Keep my heart soft and help me be sensitive to your voice. Keep me ready and willing to follow your direction for my life. I love you, Lord. Thank you for letting me be your child. In Jesus name, Amen.

    1. Latesia says:

Wow….Catherine, I needed to hear that, and know that for myself, because I have just got out of a Marriage that was Toxic. I am now though trying to overcome all my anxieties, and fears of being alone again, and trusting in God "ALONE" to fill that void I have been feeling lately. I know it's nothing but the enemy trying to keep me down and keep me from getting to where I need to be in my relationship with God.

      1. Catherine_K_L says:

Latesia, praying for you to find God in the middle of your every need. I have had to learn the hard way that He is the ONLY one who can satisfy those longings, anxieties and fears. Anything less is insufficient. Life leaves us with God-sized holes that are only filled by Him and and by Him only, erase the pain, disappointments, fear, anxiety. I pray that you can release the anxieties and fears and receive His peace and know His faithfulness. God Bless you today…..

    2. Jane says:

Catherine I simply can't tell you what a blessing and answer to prayer your response is to me. This is the Lord speaking directly to me through your words. It is a confirmation of what He has been working on in my heart. I am so thankful; I wish I could give you a hug! I have copied it down in my journal so I may refer to these words on a daily basis. I hope you don't mind. May you be blessed in unexpected ways today and that God continue to use you to be a blessing and encouragement to others.

I've been a part of the SRT community for almost a year now and have been keeping up with the plans since Thanksgiving but have never posted a comment. What you just wrote totally describes how I have been feeling. There are times when I feel doubt but think about the times God has came through for me and it gives me hope once again. My sister was hospitalized for 2 weeks and since then I have been feeling so much anxiety and fear. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I am so blessed to have found this online study.

  14. Valanne says:

Perfect verse for me to write on my heart.

  15. Neely says:

The thoughts that come to my mind when I read this are " If God is for us who can be against us." This verse gives me great comfort and hope!

  16. Claire says:

I can feel this right now

  17. joanne sher says:

He will fight for me. I just need to be silent and still. Don’t complain. Don’t rationalize. Don’t ask others to fight for me. Don’t try to take up the battle myself. Don’t get in His way – just sit back and watch.

  18. amykelly213 says:

I love this verse. God gave it to me at a time last year when I really, really needed it. I leaned on and trusted Him and He took care of everything!

  19. Tricia says:

What comfort to know God has my back. He will be with me no matter what. Jesus intercedes on our behalf. If God is for us, what power does the world have over us? This brings me such peace.
