Text: Isaiah 58:11
We believe that memorizing scripture is one of the best ways to carry the Word of our God with us wherever we go – to have God-breathed truth and instruction and reproof in our hearts and minds as we live unto Him each day.
For our Weekly Truth, we’ve chosen Isaiah 58:11. As we close this fasting portion of our Lent plan, it is a sweet passage to remind us from Whom our strength and satisfaction will continually come.
“And the Lord will guide you continually
and satisfy your desire in scorched places
and make your bones strong;
and you shall be like a watered garden,
like a spring of water,
whose waters do not fail.”
Isaiah 58:11, ESV

Kale is good for preventing cancer because it contains a compound named glucosinolate, which when consumed on a regular basis, helps to metabolize estrogen effectively and decreases breast cancer and ovarian cancer risks. Kale is rich in antioxidant vitamins A and C and vitamin K which are good for bone health. You can finely chop the kale leaves and stir –fry it in olive oil, chili, onion and garlic or drink it as a green smoothie by combining it with pineapple, celery and apple.
This has truly blessed me this morning. God called me to attend Oral Roberts University and it has been a struggle, financially and spiritually I have been suffering for the past weeks. Im worried about where my next payment for school is coming from and because i don’t see anything happening my spiritual life has been affected. I started losing hope, I spend less or no time in God’s word or talking to Him. But today this scripture has taught me that God is with me and He will give me strength though I feel weak and He will satisfy my desires.
Oooooh! What a great reminder of how secure we should feel in our relationship with the Lord. Always satisfied, guided, and loved unconditionally. Sounds pretty perfect to me! :)
I love this bible verse, I will make a goal to learn it. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Love this picture & verse. :) Anyone have any tips and tricks for scripture memorization?
I put it as the background of my phone and before I get on any app/social media/anything, I read it and try to memorize it. By the end of the week, you'll be reading it in your head with no problem! :)
Writing it out also helps…maybe on a sticky note somewhere that you can read it often? (By your bed, on your mirror, etc.)
What a beautiful, beautiful verse that I am beyond eager to memorize (and frame, for that matter). It's something about the Creation imagery in verses such as this that draw me in, cause me to breathe deeply and remember how individually and intentionally God loves me (and you).
Le sigh.
I love this verse and it definitely spoke to my struggles when I saw it here tonight. Good reminder that God is always guiding and leading us even when we are too busy to notice and sometimes we need to pause and listen to Him.
I dropped it all at His feet today. With tears streaming down my face I surrounded it all: my heart, my circumstances, the people in my life including myself and my pain which I had been holding onto for so long. I stopped fighting Him and just surrounded. And what a relief that is.
I also threw away my razors. Need to depend on God. Not on something that does not work.
Hi Angela, just want you to know I'm praying for you tonight.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:11
Angela, beautiful girl, I am so glowingly proud of your willing surrender and honest words. I will be praying mightily for you this week, that God would give you such peace like you've never known. He is strong when we are weak, and He so wants to hold and cherish you right where you are at. I've been there too, bravo to your courage!
Holding you up to the Lord in prayer, Angela. What Joy must be going on in the heavenly …..God bless you and your decisions, and I.pray He guides you in and to right places and people to walk alongside you at this time of change…..praying peace and hope abundant into your New day, New dawn …..x
Oh, sister. A million amens. Saying a prayer of peace for you now.
I have this scripture in my list of memorized verses. I needed so much about 7 years ago. I was beginning to feel the effects of growing old and also of being over weight and out of shape. We had just returned from a mission trip and I came home feeling worthless and old, because of my body. In our small group this verse came up and smacked me in the face. God has made me that Spring and continues to give my bones strength. Some days continue to be a struggle, but He continues to give me strength that can only be found in him.
He will guide you continually. = You will always be led. In everything.
He will satisfy your desires in the scorched places. = He will give you what you truly need. When all is dry, when all is hard, He will always give you exactly what you need, your heart's deepest desire, things you didn't even know you needed.
He will make your bones strong = He will strengthen you. You are frail and small without Him, but He will enable you to do the things He's called you to do.
You will be like a watered garden = Gardens reach for water. They delight in water. They are nourished by water, and they flourish into beautiful new plants, full of vitality. They are just one thing that reflects the glory of God when He blesses them. When He blesses us, we shine. We flourish. We should aim to glorify Him in return.
Like a spring of water = Useful for others. A show of blessing, vitality, life, to all around us. Able to serve and help others. Able to refresh them.
Whose waters do not fail = You'll become consistent. Not fickle. Your life and belief in Christ will be something people can also somehow see; people will know you as a person who serves, gives, and is there for them with a strength that is more than human– glorifying God's love in the end.
Lord, I pray this for all of us. That we would let ourselves be led where you are leading us. Bless all of you, sisters.
Beautiful, AnnaLee! Always appreciate your comments/responses.
What a great verse for lent! Amen!
I am soooo sad that this is the last day for the fasting part of our lent Bible study….. It was so interesting to really find out what fasting was really about and what to do and how to conduct yourselves when you do fast……. But what a Bible verse to end the section of 'fasting' on!!!! Just what I needed to hear from God and to memorize to start my day with……. Happy Sunday everyone have a great day in the Lords house where ever you may go to church May you feel His presence and touch in the house of God and through out the rest of the day……
This the reminder I need at this time!
So very thankful for this truth. And this reminder. Beautiful.
Love this!

I love this verse of scripture. The image is so comforting. There are so many promises by God in the Bible. How blessed we are
I absolutely love that you’ve given us these graphics. Thank you so much, and may you all be like well watered gardens in a sun scorched land.
Such a beautiful verse to start (or end) my week! I have been struggling this week with trusting God and this verse is just what I needed. Thank you SRT!
This is the verse I haven’t been able to get out of my head this week- thank you for the lock screen and for choosing it!
