Take each Saturday to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord with passages from Scripture that we traditionally read during the Lenten season.
But he was pierced because of our rebellion,
crushed because of our iniquities;
punishment for our peace was on him,
and we are healed by his wounds.
We all went astray like sheep;
we all have turned to our own way;
and the LORD has punished him
for the iniquity of us all.
—Isaiah 53:5–6

Thank you, Lord
For God so loved the world…
The greatest sacrifice!
This week my younger son told me he was threatened with demotion for filing an ADA claim—going through all the proper channels—because a particular situation at work gives him over-the-top anxiety. He has medical documentation and recordings of the threats. Others have received accommodations without documentation. He will consult an attorney next week. He is already greatly underemployed due to autism. He also mentioned that while his dating life is going well, his spiritual life is not. Which, in a way, is a good thing. He has always been rather arrogant about his faith, and you can’t seek God if you think you know everything you need to know. He has never really understood the relationship aspect of faith. Please remember Matthew as well as my other children on the prodigals list. Thank you, SHEs.
Praying God works this out for Matthew in a way that would draw him closer to the Lord. Prayers for wisdom and patience for you as he seeks your counsel. ❤
Thank you for your prayers for restorative restful sleep and a safe trip to Waco.
I had peaceful sleep and safely arrived yesterday.
I was frequently thinking of you all and how grateful I am for you.
I’m praying for your requests as well.
❤️
That’s great to heat, Martha! Enjoy! ❤
❤️❤️
Friends…dear sweet She’s…..Thank you for my birthday wishes! You are all so kind! YES, I had a wonderful time with my kiddos! On Thursday, I started my SRT devotions, then my son, my mom, followed by my daughter that morning came to give my hugs and happy birthday….and yesterday we went to the beach, so here I am on GRACE DAY catching up, as I did not catch up at the beach yesterday. THANK YOU all so much! This mornings verse. As grueling as OUR Jesus faced death and punishment for you and I, HERE we are studying, praying, lifting, encouraging one another. As painful as it was OUR Jesus endured this awful “punishment for our peace” and here we are doing life with on another even though we may never meet face-to-face, we are family and can’t wait to give you all a “real” hug!!!! Maybe even cry? It is said there will be no tears, but maybe, possibly “tears-of-joy?”
BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mari!!! Sounds like a really sweet day of celebration. Hugs! ❤❤❤
Belated, belated birthday wishes Mari. ❤️❤️

Thank you , Jesus, doesn’t seem like enough! May I live a life surrendered to Him out of gratitude!
Thanks for the Charity Gayle song reminder!!
From Isaiah 53:8
No one cared that he died without descendants,
that his life was cut short in midstream.
verse 10
But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him
and cause him grief.
Yet when his life is made an offering for sin,
he will have many descendants.
He will enjoy a long life,
and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.
verse 11b
And because of his experience,
my righteous servant will make it possible
for many to be counted righteous,
for he will bear all their sins.
From Enduring Word Study Bible on Isaiah 53:6-
The Messiah’s atoning work is necessary because His people are like sheep. They can be stubborn, contrary animals who go astray and turn to their own way. Therefore, it was necessary for God the Father to lay on God the Son the iniquity of all His people and judge their sins in Christ at the cross.
BIBLEGATEWAY VERSE OF THE DAY:
1 Timothy 2:5-6 NLT
For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.
.
THANK YOU, Jesus, for taking on the ugliness of us all and making it possible for us to be made righteous by You blood!

Happy Birthday yesterday, Mari V!!! I hope you had the best day ever!!! ❤️
This passage is always so sobering to me – and it should be. My rebellion, my iniquities, my turning away, my wayward heart. So many times I know my sin does not actually grieve my heart enough and I am easily to dismissive and fail to recognize how it separates me from Jesus. And yet, he paid the price to with extravagant love to be my Savior. What an undeserved grace, mercy and gift. The song Thank You for the Blood by Charity Gayle comes to mind.
Thank you Jesus for the blood that was shed for us to cover a multitude of sins. We can’t fathom the depths of suffering and so easily overlook the price you paid. Guide and lead this wayward heart to the foot of the cross, to look up to you as the only One to seek after, the only One to live for. Bind our hearts to walk in obedience to you, to turn away from the sin that so easily entangles and to live for you. Thank you Jesus, we love you. Amen❤️
Amen! ❤
Amen❤️
Thank you Jesus. May your blood not be in vain. Help me to live for you. Today and every day.
Thank you, Jesus for your precious blood that paid our individual and collective debt as sinners. We love you, Jesus.
Oh how true this would be! One of the amazing prophecies that came true hundreds of years later. So specific. Heavy. And Sad. Yet..that word YET …for Us! Me!
It should be so amazing, freeing, that we have an answer! Jesus, the answer for everything! But we don’t really see it until we get older and can look back and see it clearly.
We have been watching a chunk each week of “The Passion of the Christ” at jail. This past week we watched the brutal and painstakingly LONG and slow 49 lashing of Jesus by the Roman soldiers. It made many cry. It is necessary to SEE and let it sink in WHAT he suffered for US. Although he was fully God, He was fully human and felt it all. BUT…I had to remind them that although hard to watch, it was the plan all along! It was the ultimate blood sacrifice FOR me. That is such a joyful and powerful thing! Something to praise, but make it a remembrance to want to honor and obey him! To bring it together I played one of my favorite songs “Thank You for the Blood” by Charity Gayle. We have to thank him for the blood, that had to be done that way.
It is so good to spend so much time in Lent, because as Christians we tend to not think about this great sacrifice of Jesus until the wkd of “Easter.” One Sunday to tell us Jesus went to the cross for us. One little 30 minute message… But no, spending weeks in the Friday is so powerful. I would urge you to start watching the “Passion of the Christ” now, and maybe take it in 20 minute segments too over the next 2 weeks. Spend time in the corresponding parts in the Bible.
Oh!! Also, remember how we did communion together online a couple of years ago for Resurrection Sunday?! Would ya’ll like to do that again? Maybe Easter Sunday evening? Let me know and we will do it!
OH!! Thank you so much for the prayers for Brayden! I had the most wonderful, anointed phone call with him! I hit my knees thanking God for it afterwards. I know the words will stick, even if things don’t go right in the time being. I made sure he believes and trusts in God. That he is there with him, but has to do his part too. Please lift him up!
Praying for Brayden
We had the same song in mind today ❤️
Praise the Lord for a good conversation with Brayden – so encouraging. Have prayed.
Good stuff and encouraging report re: Brayden! Praying he obeys the nudge of the Holy Spirit! ❤
Thank you for the blood.. ahh a favorite, thanks for the reminder, Rhonda.
Re Brayden, God is on his case..
wonderful news. thanks with you sister..❤️
This passage has always been heartbreaking for me.
.
How?
.
What would compel the perfect Servant to submit to being pierced, crushed, and bruised?
.
My heart knows the answer is “love” but my head will never wrap around the idea.
.
MARI V – happy belated birthday. Thank you for your contribution to this community. You are precious to us
.
ADRIENNE – prayers for your son’s foot to be healed.
.
LISA K – praying for a quick recovery for your brother.
.
May you have a blessed day.
Ditto, Kelly – for people who were still sinners no less! It’s the very definition of Amazing Love and too overwhelming to comprehend. Oh but aren’t we grateful that He did it!!
❤
Oh i hear you Kelly, as this week approaches i feel an ache and a sadness in my heart.. thst I should ne loved so.. it truly is hard to comprehend..
BUT GOD. ❤️
❤️
all the punishment meted out to Jesus, it was for us and He willing suffered the beatings and crucifixion because of His love for us. And as thanks, we turn our backs on Him. Even as Christians, we shrug off Jesus’ sacrifice every time we compromise or commit a ‘little’ sin. Lord, please help us to keep Your love and our salvation in the forefront of our hearts and minds.
.
ADRIENNE ! So good to see you and know you’re ok-ish. Praying for your son’s healing and employment! Praying for your anxiety over your health – I recently saw a plaque,
Give it to God,
And go to sleep.
On my tough days, I can remind myself of Ps 118:24, This is the day that the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
And maybe take a dose of one of TINA’s music meds, Hezekiah Walker’s Every Praise, the video done in Birmingham ❤️❤️

JANE K ❤️ praying for your mom, and for you. I’m not in your same situation but am dealing with some difficult truths for an older family member – it is hard. They are still holding on to their dream, but as some time has passed, I do see a bit of acceptance, or maybe resignation. It’s a tough place on both sides – praying, sister.
RHONDA J – what a testimony! ❤️
