Paul Selects Timothy

Open Your Bible

Acts 15:36-41, Acts 16:1-15, 1 Corinthians 9:19-21, 1 Timothy 6:11-16

We all want to be selected. For a team, for a project, for a job, or for friendship. And there’s no better feeling than being selected on the good word of another. To be seen, known, and pointed out as someone of high standing, of having a quality character, is quite an honor.

A reputation goes a long way and could make or break decisions.

The apostle Paul knew this, so he sought wisdom when it came to discerning the next person for his team.

Coming off of a split with a good friend and ministry partner, Paul needed to choose someone who would join him on his missionary journey to share the good news of Jesus with Jews and Gentiles.

When he arrived at the areas of Derbe and Lystra (in modern-day Turkey), Paul heard about a young man named Timothy. His grandmother and mother were Jewish believers, and his father was Greek. His life represented a mix of cultures, and he had heard and responded to the gospel, which seems to have perfectly positioned him for this assignment.

Now, note the word disciple. Timothy was identified as someone actively living out the mission, and the word choice makes it known that he followed the teachings of Jesus.

Not only did he follow Jesus, but he represented a solid character and trustworthiness. People in the area spoke well of him. Their observations and interactions left a pleasant and cheerful outlook toward this young man. His reputation preceded him.

Paul received recommendations based on Timothy’s reputation and must have found them to be accurate as he met Timothy and took him under his wing. Things went well, because later in the New Testament  we find two books dedicated to Paul’s continued correspondence with his protégée, advising Timothy to stay strong in faith and pursue the same noble qualities that Paul witnessed in him—righteousness, godliness, love, and gentleness, among others.

What would people say about us? If someone researched our lives and interviewed family and friends, what would they find? Are we kind, trustworthy, and caring? Would we be labeled as disciples of Jesus?

We want to be the kind of people with our purpose fixed on God and His kingdom so that when opportunities arise to lead a Bible study, mentor someone, or join a ministry at church or in the community, our actions speak for themselves others would speak highly of us because they’ve seen us walk in step with Jesus.

Wow Tami. Thank you. You are describing being a prayer warrior. Pray more worry less. Thank you for your words tonight. I needed it.

Hey all. I’m really struggling today. Woke up with knots in my stomach and tightness in my chest. I know many people see MN I know they see our struggles. But lately I’ve been also getting a lot of texts, not asking how I am, but saying things aren’t that bad im mn and I don’t need to get so worked up and how totally unbiblical the anti-ice movement is. But the heart of the anti-ice movement is to help the oppressed and demand justice and humanity from our government. I know that God cares for each person being injured, hospitalized, killed and inhumanely treated in detainment. And I pray we are doing the right things. They don’t live here, but the atrocities we are facing from ICE agents… it’s completely despicable. And I just feel attacked on all sides, but mostly betrayed. And that betrayal is paralyzing. I could really use some prayer because I still need to be a good mom to my kids, a neighbor to those who need one, and I still feel called to care and act when I can. So just please be praying. This load is heavy right now.

    1. crissy hunter says:

Lord I pray for Heather tonight. She is struggling with big emotions and restlessness on what to do. Lord I pray that you calm her heart and guide her in the direction of your will. There is so many terrible things happening around us and We need You. Help Heather discern what to do and help protect her and her family. The hardest thing to do is to LET GO and LET GOD and I pray for all the Jesus followers to pray more and to give it You Lord. May you bring peace to all of our hearts, hope for change in all the violence around us and Your light to shine through. Amen.

Remember that we are the hands and feet of God. His people, citizens and non citizens alike, are being dehumanized by the people in power. When it is not safe for an American citizen to go to work or school because of the color of their skin, something is drastically wrong.

Praying for you Heather and the people in Minnesota. May God’s light shine brightly to show the truth and God’s peace surround and comfort those in need. Amen

Very well said – we need justice and humanity for all God’s people. Praying for you, your community, and the entire country.

Lord, meet the needs of each one suffering in MN. Remove all hearts of stone and replace them with hearts of flesh so Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

  9. Adrienne says:

Would Paul have chosen me, like he did Timothy? Something to ponder, for sure.

It’s interesting that even the early disciples of Jesus had disagreements. This disagreement affected them so much, they couldn’t minister together. I hope they were able to reconcile later.

I hope that when people think of me, they think of a woman who loves the Lord, is gentle, kind, loving and forgiving.

    1. Cee Gee says:

They do reconcile! From the NKJV Enduring Word Study Bible:
“Later, Paul would serve with John Mark again and come to value his contributions to the work of God (see Col. 4:10; 2 Tim. 4:11; Philem. v. 24).” and this verse was mention in study notes elsewhere of Paul and Barnabas serving together again:
      1 Corinthians 9:6-
Or is it only Barnabas and I who have to work to support ourselves?
      ❤ Great encouragement!

  12. Tami says:

Saw this on FB and had to share! Amen!

You have no idea what’s shifting because you pray. You think you’re just whispering words in your car. Just crying out in your closet. Just mumbling through tears you can’t explain.

    But in the spirit?

Angels are moving. Chains are breaking. Destinies are being realigned. Demons are losing legal ground. Heaven is leaning in.

You’re not just talking. You’re warring. You’re building altars that will outlive you. You’re interceding for bloodlines that don’t even know they’re being covered.

Prayer is not a soft option. It’s a supernatural strategy.

That’s why the enemy fights it so hard. That’s why your phone buzzes when you kneel. That’s why your mind races when you try to focus.

Because prayer is the place of power.

    James 5:16 (AMP) says,
“The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous believer can accomplish much when put into action and made effective by God, it is dynamic and has tremendous power.”

So pray tired. Pray empty. Pray unsure. Just don’t stop.

Because every time you prayHeaven moves. Hell shakes. And history changes.

Thank you, Tami for re-posting that encouragement to pray. I would have never seen that on Facebook because I have never joined and unless God gives me a word to do it, I never will.

That word is full of wisdom and yet so simple, it blows my mind. I will share this with my weekly bible study ladies whom many stuggle with prayer as I do. Blessings to all our Shes

  15. Lynne from Alabama says:

Good morning, sweet sisters! Upon reflection of the devotional and the comments today I have one question. Considering what circumcision is, how did everyone know whether someone was circumcised or not? LOL I have always wondered this. I know we have a lot of deep thinkers here but sadly I am not one of them.

On a much more serious note, I am praying for all of our prodigals and for each of your requests. Rhonda mentioned something about a group for our caregivers and those who have lost a spouse. I have several names in both of those categories that I pray for daily. I am getting with Rhonda about this but please send me your name if you fall into one of these groups. If you are a caregiver, please give me the name of who you take care of and what their relationship is to you. Love to all of you!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Wonderful Lynn!! I was hoping you would see that! We are to help people with their trials that we have experienced ourselves and to pray for that specific trial! You will be a wonderful head of that! We will compose a list and post it on our FB page for those to be able to pray scripture and find strength while being a caregiver! Hopefully in the future we can have group online gatherings to pray live once a month or something!! What a gift that would be!

      1. Rhonda J. says:

OH! And I’m glad you said that out loud! I too wondered!

    2. Joy Joost says:

I lost my husband on June 1, 2025.

      1. Lynne from Alabama says:

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you have a good support group to help you through your grief. My husband passed away 02/27/25.

      2. Rhonda J. says:

So sorry Joy, God be with you and comfort.

    3. Mia Faith says:

You probably already know this but I lost my precious husband 3/6/24.

      1. Lynne from Alabama says:

Yes, precious Faith, you are one of those I pray for by name every day. Such a tragic loss!

    4. Adrienne says:

I didn’t think of that at all, Lynne. That’s so funny! Now I won’t not think about circumcision the same way ever again! (Winky face emoji)

      1. Lynne from Alabama says:

Now you know how I think! LOL

  16. Cee Gee says:

What stood out to me in the Scripture reading is the Sovereign Hand of God at work and the obedience of these men to that Hand. They fully recognized the work of the Holy Spirit. Are we so in tune with God that we would do the same?

I love that even in division, (Mark and Paul) the church expanded! Apparently God was ‘growing’ Mark for a later time. We need to remember that when we face resistance. Sometimes a ‘no’ means ‘not at this time’.

HE READS TRUTH share this about Timothy:
“A good reputation as a Christian isn’t something to be chased. Rather, it’s the natural outcome of pursuing Christlikeness.

If Paul were alive today, rounding up a few good men to devote their lives to building up the church and evangelizing the lost, would he choose you? Would he choose me?

May we fight the good fight of the faith well—with righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness—knowing that any good reputation we are building should ultimately give exclusive glory to Christ!”

Love, hugs, and prayers! Continued orayers forbthe first resoinders, state and city officials, linemen who are hard at work restoring roads and piwer. Our son spoke with a linemen from Canada (here in SC) on Friday who was part of a crew staged to help out in Georgia. God bless ’em!!!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Oh what a good word Cee Gee- when we face opposition or a new, or dispute- sometimes that just changes our direction, or a no for that time. Growing, waiting on God’s timing! We usually take it as a defeat and complain, rather than pray and stay steadfast…or even look at the why to change our own attitude or something!

    2. Donna Wolcott says:

Barnabus and John Mark went on to Cyprus and spread the word. The separation from Paul allowed the message to spread further and Barnabus being Greek could speak the language of the people. He was martyred around 61AD.

      1. Cee Gee says:

Exactly what I was alluding to about the church growth! Thank you for speaking up on that. I had copied a Wiersbe note on that topic to share but neglected to post it. Wouldn’t it be cool to know how God used Barnabas to encourage Mark in his walk especially after Paul’s rejection? ❤

  17. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Hi sisters, I have a prayer request. I have been a certified postpartum doula for 3 years now. During that time I have only had a few clients as it is very hard to get a new buisness off the ground.
An expectant mom reached out to me this week – the unfortunate part is that she is due to give birth the same week as my daughter. I want to be available for my daughter as much as possible but also do not want to turn this client down.
The other side of it is I often doubt my capabilities even though I have been trained and have had lots of experience with babies.
Please pray that if this client is God’s will he will work out every detail and that I will trust Him to equip me with what He has called me to do.
I to often listen to the lies of the enemy who tells me I can’t do it, I’m not experienced enough etc. etc. etc.
I truly believed God called me to this and I want to be the best postpartum doula that I can be – for His glory!
Thank you dear praying sisters! ❤️

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Amen, for his Glory! It is super hard to promote yourself, praying God gives you just what/who you need when you need!

    2. Tami says:

That’s amazing Sharon! I had a doula with Chela and she was wonderful. This mama will be lucky to have you! Praying for God’s perfect timing! And wow, is this your first grandchild?

    3. Cee Gee says:

Praying for you in this, Sharon, and for perfect timing!

    4. Mia Faith says:

Wow! I love learning more about everyone. I love this! I will definitely pray with you on this. Imposter syndrome is real. You’ve got this!

  18. Meghan Bertani-Yang says:

In my translation, Acts 16:10 switches to first person from the previously used third person. Anyone have any insight to this?

    1. Cee Gee says:

From the NKJV Enduring Word Study Bible:
“The shift from “they” (v. 8) to we and us in verse 10 means that Luke joined the band of missionaries in Troas.”

Good question, Meghan! I noticed the switch, too, and came across that note this morning. ❤

  19. Mari V says:

So much to think about this morning. Good Morning and Happy Wednesday She’s. “What would people say about us?” Sigh….something for me to really think about this morning.

    1. Tami says:

I’m pretty sure people would say you love YOUR Jesus:) It comes through your words so I’m sure in person it would be eave more apparent.

  20. Wendy B says:

What jumps out to me is noted by Sarah in the devotional in Acts 16:1 ….”where a disciple named Timothy lived”…… He is not described as a young man, a student, a son, or even a believer as his mother is described, rather as a disciple. We are asked a few really good questions “What would people say about us? If someone researched our lives and interviewed family and friends, what would they find? Are we kind, trustworthy, and caring? Would we be labeled as disciples of Jesus?” In the humblest of ways it is my hearts desire to be known as a disciple of Jesus. Not in the “look at me” sort of way at all but that people would see evidence of Jesus in my life and that it would be known that I live for Him and that I live a life that is characterized and patterned after Him.

A while ago we attended a funeral for a young father who was a close colleague of my husband. There was no prayer, no mention of faith, God etc but from a secular standpoint, it was a lovely service and 2 hours of tributes, accolades and how he had impacted so many lives. But as the service went on I grew both increasingly sad and uncomfortable. Sad, that it would *seem* this man did not know Jesus (of course I have no way of knowing that for sure). Uncomfortable because everything was all about him. Of course it was celebrating his life and who he was but I came away feeling like when my life is over and summed up in 2 hours with a room full of people I want it to be about Jesus, not about me. For days after it bothered me (and still does at times) when I thought about and it really made me stop to evaluate if I am living a life that points to Jesus more than myself? Am I clearly communicating that being a disciple of Jesus, that living for Him is the primary motivating factor for how I live each and every day? Is God and God alone the One that is lifted high and glorified and do others know I love Jesus above all else and that my heart belongs to Him? There are a lot of things that people can say about us but of it all, I would humbly pray that a disciple would be one that would be for us as we seek to live lives that exemplify Jesus and honor Him.

    1. Aussie Grammie says:

“There are a lot of things that people can say about us but of it all, I would humbly pray that a disciple would be one that would be for us as we seek to live lives that exemplify Jesus and honor Him.” Thank you Wendy for these heart-felt words. May I ponder them in my heart every day.

    2. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Wendy I totally agree with all that you shared. And yes, how sad for this life lived that seemed to be all about him and nothing about Jesus. We can only hope that at some point before death he cried out to God for salvation.

    3. Rhonda J. says:

And that is why I have a playlist title as My Funeral Songs..lol! I told Reed to be sure to play my list and that they should know me as a Jesus devotee! I, too, have been to sad funerals with no thoughts of “where did they go..!?” You can’t be preaching they’re in a better place if they didn’t live for Jesus. (yes, I know). Nowadays they are doing celebrations of life in BARS!! Having shots!
But…I went to one of my friends funeral,2012ish he was a black man, and that was the BEST funeral ever and far as songs of JOY and Praising of going HOME!! I had never been to a funeral so uplifting before, and not many since! I also had a friend that died from ALS, and she planned her funeral to be all about telling people that life is short and there is a CHOICE to make for where you will spend eternity! That was a pretty amazing way to go out!
Also, many of you know that it took my mom dying and me looking at her life and great way of living and thinking to realize that it parallel with her daily morning in the Bible. So that is when I started Bible reading every morning after, and found SRT a short time after in 2015. Nothing has shaped me more than daily time with God.

    4. LindaK says:

The scripture that says “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his soul( Mark 8:36). came to my mind when I read your post.

    5. Cee Gee says:

Great share, Wendy; thank you! ❤

  21. Cheryl Blow says:

I think what speaks well of Timothy is that he was already a disciple. Someone who was already doing the service without looking for promotion to be picked. It was part of his life.

May I serve Him daily no matter what the circumstances and obey whatever God calls me to do!

    Praying for all!

    1. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

      ❤️

  22. AZ Walker says:

  23. Rhonda J. says:

“But seek FIRST the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” Matthew 6:33

We exist to praise God, we are to glorify him in all we do! Then you will be amazed how your life shines! :)

    1. Wendy B says:

      Amen, Rhonda ❤️

  24. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

“What would people say about us? If someone researched our lives and interviewed family and friends, what would they find? Are we kind, trustworthy, and caring? Would we be labeled as disciples of Jesus?”
    .
These are the kind of questions I often ask myself. It’s not that I want to be thought of this way for my own glory, but that it would be evident that Jesus Christ lives in me. More than anything I want to be remembered as a disciple of Jesus – one who loved Him and lived for Him!
    .
Oh how I long to one day hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant…” Matthew 25:21
    .
Did anyone else wonder why Paul circumcised Timothy after refusing to let Titus be circumcised? I did a little bit of checking and this is what I found…
    .
There are three differences between the Timothy situation and the Titus situation.

    1) Titus was a pure Greek (Galatians 2:3). Timothy was born of a Greek father and a Jewish mother. According to 2 Timothy 3:15, from childhood Timothy had been taught the Old Testament scriptures. In other words, his Jewish mother brought him up as a Jew. But his Greek father had not allowed the circumcision. For Titus the pressure was to become Jewish. Timothy was already very Jewish by race and by training. For him to be circumcised would not have had the implication of moving from Gentile status to Jew status.

    2) The people Paul resisted in Galatians 2:3-5 were false brothers. The Jews to whom he catered in Acts 16:3 were not even Christians. The pressure in Galatians 2:3-5 was from professing believers upon another believer to perform a work of law in order to be accepted. But Acts 16:2 says Timothy was “well spoken of by all the brethren at Lystra and Iconium.” No Christians were pushing for Timothy’s circumcision. Rather it was “because of the Jews that were in those places” (16:3) that Paul had Timothy circumcised. “Jews” is used over 85 times in Acts and almost without exception refers to unbelievers. And here they appear to be distinct from “brethren.” So it appears that Timothy’s circumcision was not motivated by “Christian” pressure from within but by a missionary strategy from without.

    3) Titus was a “test case” in Jerusalem (Galatians 2:1), but Timothy was to be a constant travel companion (Acts 16:3). Therefore, in Titus’ case a clear theological issue was at stake. But in Timothy’s case, what was at stake was how unbelieving Jews might best be won to Christ. So just as Christian freedom caused Paul to resist Titus’ circumcision, this same freedom allowed him to remove the stumbling block of Timothy’s lack of circumcision. Paul applied his principle from 1 Corinthians 9:20, “To the Jews I became a Jew in order to win the Jews.”

On the basis of these three differences, then, I would say Paul was not inconsistent when he resisted Titus’ circumcision but sought Timothy’s.

@Crissy Hunter – praise God you feel refreshed, continued prayers for you!
@Tami – praise the Lord for Chela reaching out to her dad – and for wanting prayer!!
@Tanya – praise the Lord you found your glasses!
@Susan Burley – praying for God’s wisdom in your work situation and that He would heal the hurt, help them set new boundaries, and open the eyes of the one who has an issue with drinking.
@Mary – I have to agree with my sisters in the advice that was given to “rethink” starting a relationship with a non believer. We are warned in scripture not to be unequally yoked. Having a friendship is not wrong and you can use that opportunity to share the gospel with him, but to take it further invites heartache. Prayers that God will lead and guide and give the wisdom you need.

Have a blessed Wednesday She’s! Sending love and prayers to all.

You brought to mind the song Nobody- by Casting Crowns!
      ‘Cause I’m just a nobody
      Trying to tell everybody
      All about Somebody
      Who saved my soul
      Ever since You rescued me
You gave my heart a song to sing
I’m living for the world to see
      Nobody but Jesus
I’m living for the world to see
      Nobody but Jesus

    2. Maria J says:

Thank you for the insight into the seeming circumcision inconsistency.
And I, as well, long to hear those words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant..” ❤️

    3. Cheryl Blow says:

Thank you for the insight regarding circumcision! Also pray over requests

    4. Wendy B says:

Thank you for the information Sharon. :)

      Asking myself the same questions❤️

    5. April L. says:

Thank you so much for sharing this insight Sharon Jersey Girl. It makes more sense of the differences between Titus and Timothy.

  25. Rhonda J. says:

Great devotional as far as character preceding you! It reminded me immediately of when I was dating my husband! Anyone he introduced me to doted on him and what a fine person he was! It literally was everyone I met. When we married and I lived in the small community I would laugh that all I had to say was I’m married to Reed Johnson and they would go right into the spill of what a great man and family he was from!! But I did love to hear it and it fortified in my mind that we had the same values and I was making a good choice!
I like the definition here as to what a disciple is compared to a believer. A disciple ACTIVELY lives out the mission….FOLLOWING (obeying, showing, evident) the teachings of Jesus!! I want to be know as a disciple!! Going and doing continually for Jesus! Bringing people to heaven by the help of the Holy Spirit!! It is so exciting to be the hands and feet of Jesus! Looking forward to each day what he can do in our lives!! It is so rewarding and powerful!! There are countless ways in EVERY day! When we take our focus off ourselves and problems or worries, we are developing the fruits of Spirit, it becomes second nature. It builds our strength and faith in the Lord!
I now have my own Protegee (I just like the word!). I told her the other day she was my protegee. Remember Stacey? A butterfly that we are friends with and came to our church and I helped baptize her? She was arrested again…she slipped back into old habits, back in December. But she actually is in a good spot because she is ministering to all the ladies around her, starting prayer circles, praying out loud for them, and having conversations about Christ with ones that don’t know Him!! But she always writes me with questions on scriptures, and advice of how to share things, and so on!! It is really amazing to be a mentor to someone after loving my mentors these past few years! Without them, I would not have stepped out in faith to pray out loud, to talk to homeless people, to lead small groups and on and on and on!! We need mentors to help us grow.
That’s why they say church should be made up of new believers, those believers that are faithful attendees and participants, and elders that nurture and feed. We all bless each other and parts of the body. But we as individuals should have a mentor and someone we are helping grow! We women have such a unique role in the kingdom of God and here. If you do not have mentors and protegees- ask God to bring them in your life and he will!

    1. Cheryl Blow says:

Rhonda, this is so exciting! Praying for you and wisdom with Stacey!

    2. AZ Walker says:

God bless you Rhonda and thanks for the update on Stacey! God is on the move!

    3. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Rhonda I totally agree with all you said on mentorship! Over the years I have mentored numerous young ladies that were new to the faith. I’m working with one right now. And I can honestly say this – they bless me as much, if not more, than I might bless them. It is a joy and a privilege to be used of God this way. I encourage all of you “mature” ladies in the faith to consider being a mentor, if you are not already one. ❤️

    4. Cheryl Read says:

Rhonda, thank you for sharing your heart and honesty with us. You are an encourager to us.
May we all look for ways to share Jesus.

    5. Cee Gee says:

Amen to each of you! ❤

    6. Wendy B says:

Thank you for your wisdom and encouragement Rhonda. I have had wonderful mentors that have richly blessed my life and have younger ladies that I have walked with as well. it is a gift yo be able to do so ❤️

  26. Tanya says:

The NIV Application commentary pointed out: “Timothy needed to win the esteem of the Jewish Christians, and being circumcised would have given him openings in evangelizing Jews.”

” Paul spoke very strongly against circumcision. His battle was against insisting circumcision was a condition for the full inclusion of the Gentiles among God’s people. Here the issue was qualification for ministry. No church today asks for a theology degree as a necessary condition for membership.”

    Tanya’s comments:

Timothy was committed and serious about his mission. I know a rabbi that requires adult males who want to convert to Judaism to undergo a ritual circumcision. This is not a surgical procedure where they are put to sleep. That is serious business, especially as a grown man. Jewish babies are circumcised on the 8th day of life.

There is a relationship between baptism and circumcision marking us to be covenant.

    1. Abigail W says:

The difference for Paul here was that Timothy had a Jewish mother and was considered Jewish not a Gentile. Timothy was willing to undergo this so he could enter synagogues without offending those he was trying to preach to.

Lord, make me better. My attitude, my approach, my response, my thoughts, my reactions, my words – they don’t always honor you. I don’t want to stay this way. Save me from myself. God refine me daily.

  32. Tami says:

GM ladies I had to share this. Chela called my husband yesterday asking him to help her to “manifest” a schedule change that would be a huge stress relief for her. My husband replied that his manifesting is called prayer and asked if she wanted him to pray for her to which she answered yes. I can’t help but think that God is on the move in our children due to our prayers. Anyway, we told her we would be praying, and the specific part of the prayer is that 7 people need to drop the class for her to get in. So please join me in praying for that very specifically. If anyone has read Draw the Circle by Mark Batterson, he talks bout getting very specific when we pray so we know it was God who moved and not just a “coincidence.” Thank you ladies! Now to the reading:)

    1. G says:

Oh, I detest how “manifest” is used in today’s culture. I love how your husband turned it around. My prayer for my children is that they can always see that it was God who orchestrated the good and not a coincidence. Praying in agreement for your family.

      1. Rhonda J. says:

Yes, I thought the same thing immediately. We have to realize that is is a big thing in our young ones. It is part of New Age beliefs and is wrong. Great on your husband Tami to immediately set it right. Just like when people say “luck” and “lucky” no, the Lord is in charge of everything.

    4. Sandi S says:

Praying for the specificity of the prayer, that it would give her hope and faith.

    5. Wendy B says:

Praying for Chela, that the Lord would make a way for her schedule to change and that she would know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He abd He alone is the One who moves and works in her life and is her refuge, strength, peace and hope❤️

    6. Cheryl Blow says:

Praying that through this she will know that God is the one who heard and answered your prayers!

      1. Tami says:

Amen thank you ladies! I told her that her dad and I would be praying and I told God it was his reputation on the line! And I too do not like the word “manifest”

  33. Kelly (NEO) says:

From Josh Cooley at HRT “A good reputation as a Christian isn’t something to be chased. Rather, it’s the natural outcome of pursuing Christlikeness.”

In today’s reading several people were chosen
    Silas (15:40)
    Timothy (16:3)
    Luke (16:9-10)
    Lydia (16:15)
All were pursuing Jesus and His righteousness.

Thank you, Kelly. Her mom is not doing well health wise and seems a little more frail each time I see her. Praying for both that they are able to see each other – I think the date is in about 6 months.
