The Wise Men Worship Jesus

Open Your Bible

Matthew 2:1-23, Philippians 2:9-11

Though it’s been over a decade, I still remember kneeling with my face to the ground, begging God for a legal way for me and my husband to build a life somewhere else as we faced the political unrest and economic crisis in our country of origin. When my body’s position matched that of my heart, it was an act of absolute surrender and worship.

There is something about kneeling that involves the whole person; we feel it in our joints and in our shoulders as our physical frame carries the weight that causes our knees to fold. That’s how I imagine the magi’s response. The wording in today’s passage sounds almost instinctive. There’s a physical reaction that expressed what was happening within their hearts: “Entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and falling to their knees, they worshiped him” (Matthew 2:11).

That day on my knees with my face to the ground, with my great need as my only offering, I looked for hope. Entering God’s presence, all I could do was surrender. The answer to our prayer took time, but God met us in the waiting. The wise men entered that house looking for the Savior of the world and true King, and beholding Him, utter devotion is all they could express with bent knees and with their gifts brought from afar. Something profound happens when we seek Jesus, long for Him, and find our longing finally ends as we enter His presence.

We see the story of Advent riddled with wonder, danger, promise, and worldly powers with evil in mind. Jesus was born right in the midst of it all! His birth declares, “Lord, Your kingdom come.” Advent is when heaven and earth meet, and in that thin space we find Immanuel with us.

I’m personally deeply moved by today’s passages. Paul wrote to the Philippians that God exalted Jesus, “so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow–in heaven and on earth and under the earth–and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” We see this statement affirmed in these wise men, foreigners from afar, who followed the signs they saw to find the Messiah. When they did, they fell to their knees in adoration.

The Bible says that “fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10). Unlike dread or panic, this fear is awe and reverence. The kind that drew the wise men to their knees, making themselves small before a child who was God incarnate. The immensity of that moment was also a thin space. And when they entered His presence, worship was the only response. Oh, to enter this Advent season small and close to the ground, on our knees, where we can find Immanuel with us.

What a message! There have been times I have fallen to my knees to pray but that has been out of pure emotion rather than thinking about complete surrender. WOW. It makes complete sense and something I will strive to do more than not.

Happy Monday shes, I recently watched a documentary called The First Christmas by Kevin Costner. He was one of my favorite actors years ago, and I did not realize he was a Christian. The documentary was deeply thought-provoking and revealed aspects of King Herod that I had never fully understood. Certain scenes lingered with me for days, especially the depth of Herod’s wickedness. There was a saying that struck me in the documentary, “It was better to be Herod’s pig than his son.” Knowing how his wife and children suffered was heartbreaking. Mary and Joseph lived through immense trauma, as did the entire generation into which baby Jesus was born. We still witness similar suffering today, among our brothers and sisters in Nigeria and in many other parts of the world. But God. While an earthly king responded to the birth of Jesus with fear, jealousy, and violence, others responded with reverence and worship. The wise men came not to protect power, but to lay it down. If the wise men worshiped God, if even the stars themselves declared His glory, who are we not to worship Him? These are outsiders to Israel. They are learned men, scholars who studied astronomy, mathematics, and likely king’s advisors, high intellectual figures. They held influence, education, and respect, but they did not rule nations. Their access to King Herod indicates they were recognized as credible and important visitors. They recognized the significance of the star. The Magi represent Gentiles. This really touched me. Scripture is very clear that no one truly knows God unless He reveals Himself ( “…no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him”Matthew 11:27, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him” John 6:44). Jesus came not only for the Jewish people, but for all nations. Their journey emphasizes that those who truly seek truth will find Christ, regardless of background. This is what makes the wise men so significant. Their wisdom alone did not lead them to Christ. God revealed Himself to them through a star, through divine prompting. Their response was worship, not pride. God is not discovered. He is reveled. If we are wise ( “the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord”), we too will seek out and worship Him with all our being, with every breath like these outsiders. “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord” Psalm 150:6.

I have a prayer request. My Christmas was so busy. Please pray for me and our family to recover and have energy to go on. Our visitors will leave on Jan 1 and my husband works new years eve and new year’s day. So it’s on me. Because these reunion travels are so expensive, somehow the expectation is that we have to spend every minute together. I did not realize what a marathon this would be. Every single day. Such unspoken pressure and obligation. I miss my routine. Thank you for your prayers. I hope you are doing well. Be blessed dear sisters.

    1. Cee Gee says:

“I miss my routine.” Oh, how I understand that! I was speaking with a friend at a church activity before Christmas and we were lamenting the days prior to our husbands’ retirements when we had our daily routine.
      Aye-yi-yi! ❤

      1. Rhonda J says:

oh boy do I understand that…and mine isn’t retired YET! lol. But on his 3 days off, his mornings are loud and chatty during my quite time!

Mercy- I wondered where you were, but figured it was busy with 3 kids off school and Christmas. I understand your wanting “your normal back!” Company is nice, but draining! I like to say a max of 4 days! lol. (I guess that’s why we don’t have fancy guest rooms, just a pull out couch!) Lord forgive me!
Your insights Mercy are amazing!! I want to see that!

Did you happen to read HRT anyone..he refers to the wise men at a different angle.

They feel better about doing it that way as there is still a lot of swelling and abnormal brain activity. Please pray that insurance will approve it right away and we can fly tomorrow. Big ask but not too big for God.
The girls (14 & 12) are on a flight home right now and will be with grandparents.”

Happy Monday from a VERY cloudy and COLD NorCal morning. Brr….. Hitting the knees is something I haven’t done in a long time, and after reading some of your comments (thank you Rhonda) maybe it’s time to start again. YES, there’s something about kneeling before “our” Jesus surrendering ALL of what we can’t control, and leaving it at the feet of Jesus! Feeling a bit depressed this morning, and it’s not the weather… I have to go back to the Self Help department at the courthouse and I don’t want to go, but need to. Surrender….I will bring this before my Maker who will give me strength, even to get into the shower to get ready. I don’t like going there, but I decided I would do it in little steps. Today just a visit to the Self Help to talk to someone and pick up more paper work and that’s all. Tomorrow possibly drop off that paper work, after that we’ll see. I told myself I have time since my next court date is not till May 1st. Also..asking for prayer for my son Caleb. The coffee shop where he works is closing down. It’s been part of our community for 13 years, where he’s been there for four yeas. It’s a great loss for our downtown community and these young adults losing their jobs for three weeks while the renovate the shop to start up a “new” coffee shop. Please pray for Caleb as he starts to seek other employment and put “his degree” to use. I’ve been praying for this for a while. I’m just sad how this took place, but proud of him that he’s not just sitting around and instead he’s being proactive.

Wendy’s comment brought to mind a song wr sing at church. Chorus in reply to Wendy’s comment.
In searching for that song I came across this one by Elevation Worship which ends with that chorus. I did bow in worship at the end of this beautifully fitting song! I hope it blesses you, too!

  18. Maria J says:

The faith and humbleness of Joseph and Mary to immediately leave Bethlehem with Jesus amazes me. It was no small journey at the time. According to Google Maps it would take approximately 168 hours of walking to get there on modern roads (which a good majority is desert). Maybe they joined a caravan for safety or took a ship for part of the journey, we don’t know. Their obedience and trust in God is a lesson for me. They did what they were asked to do, not knowing what laid ahead and God looked after them.
    Proverbs 3:5-6
    Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

    1. Lisa H says:

There is nowhere in the OT that prophesies how Jesus will be called a Nazarene. (I had no idea that wasn’t in the OT. I figured I had just missed it. I catch different things at different times, don’t you?) I did more digging this am in three different study Bibles I have (after something pointed me to that the other day, in another devotional). I wish I could post a pic here of this… John MacArthur’s notes say that Matthew is likely using “Nazarene” as a synonym for someone who is despised or detestable, and if that is the case, that the prophecies Matthew had in mind would include Ps. 22:6-8, Is.49:7 and Is. 53:3.
    .
Other sisters may have gone there already. I haven’t read the comments yet. Forgive me if my post is a repeat of other ones!

We have a follow-up appointment for the laser surgery done on hubby’s eye last week. The lens surgery will be mid January (with one pre-op and a few post-op appointments… oy!) Thank you for your prayers and keep praying for surgery success and traveling mercies, as this ophthalmologist is 1.5 hours away from home. Ugh!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Interesting, thanks for pointing that out and the research!

    2. Cee Gee says:

Prayers for successful appointments and procedures! So thankful he didn’t lose his eye!
Glad you shated your notes, too! I felt compelled to mention that since Matthew seemed to think it worth mentioning multiple times. He was writing to a Jewish audience who would have been familiar with the OT, thereby giving validity to current day events.
We are studying Matthew in SS this quarter. Good timing!
      Thanks, Adrienne! ❤

Verse 12 of Matthew 2:”And being warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their own country by another route.”

Sometimes we have to go a different direction or take a different route.

This verse has some deep spiritual implications here!

    1. Cee Gee says:

      Indeed! ❤

  26. Cee Gee says:

    V. 14, 17, & 23 fulfilled – This stood out to me in this reading. Matthew didn’t just give the story; he included background as evidence of God’s Sovereignty.
A couple of commentaries mentioned that the term Nazarene was not mentioned in OT prophecies and that Matthew is likely using a term well known in their society that represented rejection/lowliness. See Psalm 22:6, Isaiah 49:7, Isaiah 53:3 for example.

    WARREN WIERSBE NOTES:
“That Herod tried to kill Jesus is not surprising, for Herod alone wanted to bear the title “King of the Jews.” He also wanted Jesus dead because Herod was not a full-blooded Jew; he was actually an Idumean, a descendant of Esau. This is a picture of the old struggle between Esau and Jacob that had begun even before the boys were born (Gen. 25:19–34). It is the spiritual versus the carnal, the godly versus the worldly.”
    ✨✨✨
    Spiritual vs. carnal
    Godly vs. worldly
    Sounds familiar!!!
✨✨✨It stood out to me as I read this passage earlier in the weekend that the wise men fully recognizef the kbject of their worship. I had not picked that up before! I saw SEARCHING’s mention of that as I quickly scanned comments.
I shared that Saturday as a few of us from our lifegroup sang We Three Kings and other Christmas songs at an assisted living facility.
May Jesus always and in ALL ways be our object/target of true worship/adoration!

From Raise a Hallelujah by Bethel Music:
Just begin to raise your own hallelujah
I can’t do it for you
There’s a song written on your heart only you can sing
And when you sing, enemies flee
When you sing, prison walls come falling down
When you sing, heaven invades the earth
So just begin to lift up your hallelujah
    Raise it like a banner
    Raise it like a flag
Raise it in the middle of the storm
Let it rise, let it rise
Like a symphony to the King
    Everything to You, Jesus
    We raise it all

“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

These verses stood out to me! A call to a deeper walk with Jesus! The only response to Jesus is worship!

Praying for all the requests! And for listening to loved ones. Keep looking up!

  28. Rhonda J. says:

Many will remember the exact moment that they crumpled to the floor and cried out to God! In that broken, surrendered moment, when there was nothing else to do, and we hoped that God would help us. I had gone to the altar at church and bowed on my knees many times growing up, but it was in prayer, not desperation. But I do miss that humble submission that I don’t seem to get in my everyday prayers, that like someone else said, that although good, my mind wanders all over the place.I’m not really bringing myself completely to the King of the Universe in Awe. I have recently begun getting back on my knees and praying out loud. It is an impactful difference.
These wise men left their work and home and traveled in the unknown, the hope, and anticipation. Again, I just feel like many of us would never do something so “crazy” for Jesus. We like our church on Sunday, close, comfy, with a coffee and comfortable seats, and a/c. Would we walk a few miles to meet with Jesus? Would we praise and worship at church for more than the regulated time frame. Would we stay in prayer and worship for days like the college a couple of years ago? I know I probably would not. (although I do stay for 2 more services at my own church because I LOVE Sundays at church. I love singing to God..and fellowshipping with my brothers and sisters and praying with those who need it!)
Joseph listened immediately to the command to leave and then to return. Obedience. No planning, no questioning, just and a yes.

As Paola wisely put- We see the story of Advent riddled with wonder, danger, promise, and worldly powers with evil in mind. Jesus was born right in the midst of it all! His birth declares, “Lord, Your kingdom come.” Advent is when heaven and earth meet, and in that thin space we find Immanuel with us.
What a great study this has been to bring all that out for us!! As an empty-nester and away from all family, Christmas is quite most of the month, and I’ve come to love that. With my highlights being on visiting the nursing home bringing joy, songs and conversation to the lonely. Going to jail each week to share what we learn here- giving Hope, Peace, joy and love. And then going to Homeless and giving them a feast and gifts and love. This is what Christmas is all about. And of course being with family and friends and sharing Jesus where and when we can! All Glory to God to bless others that indeed BLESSES ME!! Thank you Jesus. (I BOAST of Him and what he is doing in my life not myself..I want no accolades! We are all in different seasons!)

  30. Wendy B says:

In reading the passage in Matthew today it stood out to me the men who are great examples of faithful, committed obedience. Joseph who sought the Lord’s wisdom and guidance to lead and protect his family and the Wiseman who journeyed far and fell on their knees to worship. I’m not sure that I have ever stopped to really take notice of that.
So often when we pray and worship, we have heads bowed, are sitting, standing and may have hands lifted up and it is rare to be on our knees. I do think about it, but rarely do it. It is such a posture of reverence, submission, adoration. It not only is a different physical posture, I think it creates a different heart posture as well. We know we can pray anytime – sitting in a chair, driving in the car, doing household chores, during moments in going about our workday but stopping and getting down on our knees is different and it challenges me to do that more.
Lord you are worthy of our worship and praise and at the name of Jesus, I bow in honor and praise of your mighty name. Thank you Heavenly Father that you Lord of Lords and King of Kings. Guide me Lord to walk in faithful obedience to you and proclaim your name. Amen

    1. Rhonda J. says:

I agree, I was trying to put the same thoughts in words! Even reading my Bible in the morning has gone to comfort and ease- where I used to love opening my Bible sitting at the table to underline and write notes in it, now I lay with my laptop in my lap. :/ I have wanted to get back to the old, but with back pain, I go with the ease and comfort. But..I’m going to change that….um…the first day of the new year..lol! (see!)
The praying on my knees…and OUT LOUD has been huge. Thank you for always summarizing well! Still praising with you for your good report!!

    2. KimN says:

That stood out to me too! And how different their response to the Lord when compared to Herod’s response

They saw Jesus, they bowed, they worshipped. This is what I imagine when I think of what it will be like to see Jesus face to face for the first time ever. I believe there will be no other option but to bow in His presence, nor would we want there to be.

  34. Jean Sitzler says:

I am amazed at the obedience Joseph had to God. I have to think how many times have I felt an urge to do something and not done it due to inconvenience. Three times Joseph was visited by an angel and obeyed God! I tend to waiver and ask for reassurance that it is really God and not something else (mainly me) with the thought.

  35. Stephanie says:

It’s hard to understand the evil in this world and, sometimes, if we are honest, we struggle with why God allows terrible things to happen. Today I’m reminded that God already knows. He knows what has happened and he knows what is coming…AND ALSO, because he already knows, he has a plan and IS working all things for good.

King Herod committed a horrific act and innocent lives were lost. While we experience sorrow when terrible things happen, God was still in it…in ways we may not know and in ways that we do know. God rescued baby Jesus, his son, so that we all could receive the gift of salvation through his death at the appointed time.

Terrible things happen, life is hard because we live in a sinful, fallen, broken world. But God…he reigns. If you are facing hard times, God already knew, and he has a plan for you my sisters!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Yes Amen Stephanie! EveryTHING is in his hands, allowed for his purposes. If everything was good here on Earth we would not long for heaven. If no dark, we wouldn’t know the light and the need of a Savior!

    2. Cee Gee says:

Amen, Stephanie and Rhonda! I saw a great quote this morning re: this topic.

MARGARET W – I feel your pain, having dealt with this with my own daughter. It is so hard! I had no idea how to deal with it (and didn’t do it well) that I started seeing a parenting coach. It changed everything. Her name is Lori Walters and she has a great blog (you can google her name and “parenting coach if interested”)
LISA H – praying for Andrew and his family. I can’t imagine!
KERRY B – your comment yesterday about not longing for Christ’s 2nd coming. I can totally relate! It is not something I think about a lot and when I do, it’s a bit scary and seems more like a movie than something that could/will actually happen.

  38. Erica Chiarelli says:

The wise men found Him and worshipped Him with exceedingly great joy. I love to think on what that must have looked like..Mary and Joseph at home with their perfect toddler son…a knock on the door and there is a caravan outside their door. They get a story from them about a star and a King. Joseph carefully let’s them in…these men see Jesus clumsily walking around (He may be perfect but He’s still only 1 or 2. Lol) and they drop to their knees overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. What an amazing site that must have been!!! Worshipping a tot King incarnate, immortal yet in human flesh. Wow! Thank You, Jesus!!! For coming close, and being God with us!!

When God reveals Himself directly—unfiltered glory, holiness, authority—the human response is not dialogue, confidence, or action, but collapse, silence, fear, repentance, and worship.

Abraham — fell facedown when God appeared and spoke covenant promises (Genesis 17:3)
Moses — fell facedown in God’s presence (Numbers 16:4)
Aaron — fell facedown before the glory of the LORD (Numbers 16:22)
Israelites at Sinai — trembled and stood at a distance, overwhelmed by God’s glory (Exodus 20:18–19)
Joshua — fell facedown before the Commander of the LORD’s army (Joshua 5:14)
Job — fell to the ground in worship after God revealed His majesty (Job 1:20)
Ezekiel — fell facedown repeatedly when beholding the glory of the LORD (Ezekiel 1:28; 3:23; 9:8)
Daniel — collapsed, fell facedown, and lost all strength before divine visions (Daniel 8:17–18; 10:8)
Isaiah — undone and overwhelmed in God’s throne room (Isaiah 6:1–5)
Saul (Paul) — fell to the ground when confronted by the risen Lord’s glory (Acts 9:3–4)
John — fell “as though dead” before the glorified Christ (Revelation 1:17)

The Magi — “On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.” (Matthew 2:11)
The Greek phrase pesontes prosekynēsan literally means “having fallen down, they worshiped.”
That implies full bodily prostration, not a polite bow.
    What’s significant:
    They were Gentiles, not Israelites
Scholars / astrologers / kings in their own cultures
Yet their only recorded reaction to encountering Christ was to fall down and worship
    They don’t speak.
    They don’t question.
    They don’t negotiate meaning.
They fall — then offer gifts.

    Amen!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Tami thank you for sharing this! It is powerful! Many times at church I want to kneel or bow down. Especially yesterday with the songs we sang! A couple of the singers on stage were on their knees.
I do feel like in a lot of our churches we have lost the reverence and awe of Jesus. We like to sing praise songs with hands raised but not as many worship songs. I am glad our church is going back to worship and making space for prayer withing that.

    2. Rachel (CO) says:

I love this, thank you for sharing!

    3. Rita Waldner says:

      Sobering thought !!

    4. Cee Gee says:

Great observation and share, Tami! That’s one of the best blessings in this group- as has been mentioned by others- the way God reveals different focus to each of us! ❤❤❤

    5. Mercy says:

      ❤️ so good TAMI.

    6. Heather Crawford says:

      ♥️

  40. Kelly (NEO) says:

“at the name of Jesus every knee will bow”
    .
Thank You, Lord for showing me the Truth of who You are so that I bowed my knee to You in love and surrender. What a dreadful day it will be for those who at Your return will bow their knees in fear of their judgment.
    .
    Praying for your requests.

  41. Carol Miles says:

    ❤️

  42. Kimberly says:

The Wise Men followed the star and worshiped Jesus, trusting He was King before they could see how it would unfold (Matt. 2).
    .
This same Jesus is the One God has lifted up and given the name above every name. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord (Phil. 2:9–11).
    .
As Advent ends, I want my life to reflect that truth now—choosing worship, trust, and obedience in the ordinary and uncertain places.

  43. Susan Burley says:

I loved this! Oftentimes I pray before bed, while I’m driving, or absentmindedly as I’m making my bed in the morning. Maybe not the most formal of ways, but I’m sure He still listens. The times when I get on my knees, I truly do feel the weight that the devotional mentioned. This world can feel so heavy these days. I can’t imagine it without Jesus and faith that He is in control of all things at all times! Finding rest in Him today. Happy Monday ladies!

    1. Tami Cutler says:

      Same here!

  44. Brandi Young says:

Wow! I never thought of it as a reaction to being overwhelmed. The wise men were very proper but in this moment all protocols were abandoned and worship was the only right response to the name above all names!

  45. Lena Sorensen says:

Praying Lisa for this young boy. In the Name of Jesus, for divine wisdom for the Dr. a peace that surpasses all understanding as they wait.

    1. Lisa H says:

      Thank you, Lena.

  46. Searching says:

From devo: “Something profound happens when we seek Jesus, long for Him, and find our longing finally ends as we enter His presence.”
Praying this for my lost loved ones, friends, neighbors, and yours. That they would have clarity that Jesus is they are seeking, He is what’s missing.

MARGARET W – praying for your daughter, and for you. ❤️

I picked up on that ‘clarity’ as I reviewed this passage over the weekend. Thank you for mentioning it here. ❤❤❤

    2. B says:

“Praying this for my lost loved ones, friends, neighbors, and yours. That they would have clarity that Jesus is they are seeking, He is what’s missing.”

Encouraging all of us to be in prayer for our lost/prodigal. That 2026 would be the year of their salvation.

  47. Sally B. says:

Such a good reminder that kneeling is not just for times of deep distress or pleading (when I most often find myself there!), but one day EVERY knee will bow in awe and worship of King Jesus!! May we start practicing now!!
Blessings on your Monday, SRT Sisters!

    1. Cee Gee says:

I find myself kneeling in awe more than in supplication. I need more balance there! ❤

  48. Tina says:

I am certain that those of us that love to add a song to our comments will have this one in mind as we read the devotional..
    .
    Oh Holy Night..
    .
    …Fall on your knees
    O hear the angel voices
    O night divine
O night when Christ was born
    O night divine
    O night, O night divine

Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming

With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand

So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming

Here come the wise men from Orient land

The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger

In all our trials born to be our friend.
    .
    .
Father God, may I, at the name of JESUS, bow in reverence and awe, fall on my knees in worship and with my mouth, confess that our JESUS is LORD..
    .
    Falling on my knees..
    .
    BUT GOD.
    .
    AMEN.
    .
    .
Happy Monday.. Much love, love, love to all.. Sharing the love and not in My heart today, filled to overflowing.. God is good..❤❤❤

  49. Ariana Strickland says:

Amen. This advent devotional is really opening my eyes, mind, and heart to things I’d never before seen the connections of in scripture and reaffirms just how much of a gift Jesus was to us all. I’m learning a lot this advent season. This is my first advent reading and I have to say not only am I learning from it and enjoying it but I find I am anticipating each new day of the readings from scripture like never before. One of my New Year’s resolutions is now going to be to read my Bible more often. I confess I struggle to read it as often as I should but maybe with a new year and a new beginning and God’s help, I can make a habit of it. Have a good day everyone!

    1. Sally B. says:

This space is a Great encouragement for daily Bible reading, Ariana – it has been a game changer to keep me in God’s word daily. Hopefully it will be for you too!

    2. Abigail W says:

Ariana, I found found that the format of this app is really helpful for my daily reading and I hope you can continue here.

    3. Karen Swanson says:

I used to be just like you. And one year I did the SRT Advent devotional. At the end of it I became a subscriber and have never once not had a day in the word. The fact that the next study just arrives in a box. I don’t have to wonder what to do or pick one out or say I’ll get to that decision later. Not a paid advertisement but just a personal testimony of how much I value being a subscriber.

    4. Rhonda J says:

I pray that you will continue with us She’s! I started 10 years ago and never stopped!

    5. Rachel (CO) says:

It’s the best habit you could ever cultivate! You might also find the Bible Recap helpful – you can listen to the Bible while you follow along and then there’s a 5-6 min recap of what you just read (you can find it on YouTube, Spotify, etc). You go!!❤️

  50. Lisa H says:

I left this comment later in the day Sunday, so I’m repeating it here for visibility:

Prayer warrior Shes, please renew your prays for my dear friends son Andrew, who is 9 and has a diffuse brain tumor. From his mom: “We are in Orlando, FL (from visiting family) in intensive care. He had a prolonged seizure and resulting extreme brain swelling. He’s in a medically-induced coma since yesterday afternoon. He is stable now and the seizures have stopped and he is responding as well as expected while sedated.
We praise God the brain did not show areas starved of oxygen on recent MRI. However, we really won’t know much more until the they to bring him out of sedation. We covet your prayers and the prayers of any other prayer warriors you know ❤️‍”
Thank you already, Mary Margaret and UCOBB.

    1. Tina says:

Praying fervently Lisa. Praying Gods healing hand be over Andrew and that the great Physician Himself take charge of his well being.. Lord in your mercy, hear the cries and prsyers of those who stand in the gap for Andrew..

Thank you, ladies! Just got this update: “New plan from neurologist is to keep him sedated and get him medical flight so he can be at home (Los Angeles) when they try to take him off sedation. They feel better about doing it that way as there is still a lot of swelling and abnormal brain activity. Please pray that insurance will approve it right away and we can fly tomorrow. Big ask but not too big for God.
The girls (14 & 12) are on a flight home right now and will be with grandparents.
