In this third week of Advent, hope is clear on the horizon—the Messiah was breaking into our reality. And even as the people were looking for the light to break through, He would come in the most unexpected of ways in an unexpected place, born to be with us in the flesh.
For a child will be born for us,
a son will be given to us,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
He will be named
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
—Isaiah 9:6

Thank you, Lord.
❤️✝️
Hope, we can still find our hope in our Lord God ❤️ Amen!
❤️
Thankful for God’s names in this passage.
I love this passage- I love His names!
Good Morning Shes
The devotional reading & community forum are yet to appear on my tablet…but the scripture is being shared & attention being drawn upward to God. Not our screens for a while!
We wait quietly. On point, on purpose, on His pleasure.
Thanks be to God.
I am missing our little gathering ast our SRT site, but my goodness, HRT was powerful today! “Why is is that those things that torment us often become something like a security blanket/” and “Do we live as those who have been redeemed, or are we living as those still waiting to be rescued?” Gah! Much to ponder this morning!
Yeah, I had never thought of it in that way, but it sure resonated with myself and what I see in others!!
❤️
A question asked at HRT this morning –
“Do we live as those who have been redeemed, or are we living as those still waiting to be rescued?”
.
Sadly, I feel that many times I don’t live as those who have been redeemed. This question has caused me to ponder ways in which that could change.
Yes, great and deep ponder! ❤
This is the part that stood out to me:
“But for all who have placed their trust in Jesus, the Good Shepherd has taken us back and claimed ownership of us. He stands over us to guide us while we wait so that in His shadow we may dwell securely (Micah 5:4Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)). We have been redeemed.”
Written by Colin Ross
☺
We can reJOYce (mispelled on purpose!) in our redemption!
We should have JOY in our salvation and spread that JOY!
Yes, I agree! That is what I want to focus on in the upcoming year in my different groups! Living as Redeemed Daughters of God! Infused to live differently, and give, share, love, and deal with life WITH the power of the Holy Spirit- through the birth, death, and RISE of Jesus Christ!
Give it all, surrender, and put him in the center! Praise God for this generous, Magnificent, amazing GIFT!! Are we taking it? A life jacket is thrown to us…yet we keep struggling to stay afloat with our own treading and worry, rather than just holding to it and reserving our energy, because that is the purpose! To let the Rescue device save us. Rest in Him, and know that you CAN”T sing with it! And Jesus will not let you sink either.
KELLY NEO AND SEARCHING shared the Scripture references from He Reads Truth:
.
Hosea 3:4-5
Isaiah 9:6-7
Micah 5:2-4
Psalm 130:7-8
Lamentations 3:26
❤
Thank you!
Morning ladies! Heading over to HRT to read there. Will pop back here in a bit – hopefully it will show up soon.
O Israel, hope in the Lord;
for with the Lord there is unfailing love.
His redemption overflows.
8 He himself will redeem Israel
from every kind of sin.
John MacArthur said,
“He shall redeem Israel.
This can be taken in both a historical and a soteriological sense (cf. Matt. 1:21; Luke 1:68; Rom. 9–11).”
❤ I learned a new word today! From the web:
“The meaning of SOTERIOLOGY is theology dealing with salvation especially as effected by Jesus Christ.”
✨
Wiersbe said, “All who trust Jesus Christ are children in God’s family and not slaves, and their future is secure (Gal. 3:26—4:7).”
What JOY we can find in that statement! Praise the Lord for the gift of salvation.
✨
I know the Lamentations verse said it’s good to wait quietly, but the song that came to me this morning is:
HOUSE OF THE LORD- Phil Wickham (partial lyrics):
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
We shout out Your praise
There is joy in the house, there is joy in the house today
We shout out Your praise
We shout out Your praise
✨
Love, hugs, and prayers!
I love how this Scripture captures the Trinity so beautifully.
Is anyone else struggling to find day 16? I can’t get it to load on my app!
Me! It isn’t there…
I don’t see it either !
All settled in with my Bible and ready to dig in but it’s not there
I’m having trouble finding it as well!

Morning my dears. Just waiting for study to be uploaded.
Until then sending love and hugs from across the pond coveted in prayers….xx❤️
Good morning all and to Tina. Read all on HRT but will return to She Reads Truth later today. Say a prayer that all will go fine with my day. Returning to work after being out on medical leave for a little over two months.. I know Jesus will be with me. Just don’t want to be overwhelmed. Many thanks!
Praying for a great day for you!
Praying for your first day back Sundayschoolteacher.
I am struck by the word “for” us. For some reason, this really hit me. I am learning so much about Jesus during the Advent study. I am appreciating that God had a plan from the very beginning. Jesus was not just sent on a whim to save us after the Lord saw how messed up we are.
A child. Imagine the most powerful, wonderful moment in history coming in the form of a baby. This child is the wonderful counsellor – this means that we are to go to Him and find guidance, advice, and comfort from Him in a way that we cannot find I’m anyone else; Might God: here is God! The most High! The most powerful! Come to us in the form of a child!
From these two, we see that God is a God who draws near as a counsellor and meets us in our problems, and is also all-powerful and mighty and so above everything!
Everlasting Father : here is one who will not fail is because He does not suffer death! Our earthly fathers, whom we turn to for guidance and leadership as children, can be wonderful, but they are not immortal. Our everlasting father is a father to us always and at all times.
Prince of peace – oh Lord, how amazing that this is who you are. I felt you pressing this on me this morning. All the anxieties about work and a particular relationship at work at the moment – you are the prince of peace whom I can run to. But also for this world: oh dear God, I commit the Jewish people into your hands following the attack on Bondi beach. My Lord, you are the prince of peace whom I; may your peace reign in people’s hearts. Only your peace can stop the hate and turmoil that reigns.
I thank you for this time of quiet this morning when you have got me to re read this passage from yesterday and actually pause on all these things. My God, my mighty God and wonderful counsellor, may this community walk boldly into whatever they have today knowing that these things are true and that they can call upon you and trust you to deliver them from whatever it is that might be making things difficult.
Thank you that you are all that we need.
In Jesus mighty name,
Amen
Amen
Amen
Beautiful Mary!

this is one of my favorite Christmas scriptures! I love the image of Jesus being my Prince of Peace.

❤️
It’s my first day here, what an amazing verse to start with – the promise of the coming savior! And what I feel is so powerful – the promise years before Christ.
Welcome, Joanna! Glad you are here! ❤
Welcome! ❤️
Welcome Joanna! Are you from Il?
It was our church’s children’s program today! So wonderful to see the children put on the nativity program! My 4-year-old daughter was so excited to be an angel and say her line “A Child is Born” “A Child is Born” such JOY and childlike faith and hope on display!
Ours is tonight! ❤ Your daughter- so sweet!!! ❤
How fun! They do ours on a different day in the week, which is a bummer for us that would still love to see even though we don’t have kids in it!
Praying we stay focused on Him during this busy season. Praying also that we cherish the time we have to spend with family and friends. I’m so thankful to She Reads Truth for doing an Advent devotional. I have learned lots and been reminded of lots more. Have a great Sunday everyone and (early) Merry Christmas!
❤️❤️
❤ back atcha, Ariana! ☺
I usually read this verse quickly because it’s so familiar, but today just spent a little extra time contemplating the names given. Jesus is our wonderful counselor. He guides us and leads us and his counsel is perfect. He is mighty and over everything. He has all the power. He is the everlasting father who cares for us. His government brings peace. What a Savior. Thanks be to God.
❤
The gift of Christmas is not just the baby in the manger, but God who upholds the universe now living inside you.
Yes!
What absolute truth..
thank you Joni..♥️
Amen! ❤
My daughter last night reminded me of the sweetest thing. This season is not about gifts, not about people but God’s love for us. So simply put but so easy to forget
❤
@Searching, praying for this sweet baby.
Happy Third Sunday of Advent sweet She’s! Blessed to be here with you all.
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace – the hope of the nations.
.
Thank you Abba Father for sending Your Son. Had He not been born, we would indeed be without hope.
.
Reading on in Isaiah 9:7, …”He will reign on David’s throne and over His kingdom…from that time on and forever.” …There’s that word “forever” again!
.
Be blessed today She’s as you worship our Lord today, whether in your home or in a church building. ❤️
Praying right now for this sweet little baby.

TINA, you’re comment brought to mind this song. I don’t hear it much on the radio, but it is one of my favorites! There are several versions!
❤
Michael W. Smith – All Is Well (Lyric Video) ft. Carrie Underwood
JOY to the world…a Child has been born to us!! Mighty Counselor, Prince of Peace!!
That is something to be Joyful about every day, every moment!! The week to put Joy in our hearts in anticipation of the One that did come, and will come again! Hold tight, stay steadfast, because in a twinkling of an eye, he could come!
Joy was my word for the year a few years ago, the first time I had done that…and it popped up everywhere!
So many songs I love with Joy at Christmas.
Joyful, Joyful (We Adore You)
Joy to the World (Unspeakable Joy)
Have a Joyful day She’s worshiping and Praising the Savior, wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace!!
❤
❤️
I am going to re-post yesterday’s comment as it fits here even better. I hit ‘post comnent’ yesterday, but must have touched something the wrong way because it wasn’t there. I didn’t realize that until late last night! I couldn’t recall everything, but here, again is the gist of it:
Endless
Eternal
Everlasting
Each of those words as well as ‘forever’ represent our ‘ultimate reality’ which John Piper describes as
“God and His Son interacting in love and holiness for our eternal salvation.”
✨
2 Samuel 7:22 NLT-
“How great you are, O Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!
✨
SONG SHARES –
(1) Holy Forever (again) ☺
(2) Is He Worthy
and a Christmas song-
(3) How Many Kings – Marc Martel (live acoustic version is great).
✨
Love, hugs, and prayers!❤
✨
May we worship Him with expectancy and HOPE today!
❤️
Of course the movement from Handel’s Messiah is running through my head!
✨️
In reading the footnotes for this passage from the NET Bible, I learned that these titles would have been understood to Isaiah’s audience in the context of military strategy and might and a the king being a protector and defender of his people.
.
Thank You, Jesus, as we enter into the week of “Hope” this Advent season, You have gone before us, fighting against the enemy of our souls and defeating him, conquering death and the grave. Now we have hope for spending eternity in victory under Your reign.
✨️
Let us all rejoice in Christ’s vicory!
Yes and amen! Gotta love those NET footnotes! I have learned so much from them.
❤❤
Yes and Amen!

I KNOW Christmas is coming when I read, hear or see this verse!
.
This verse right here, speaks such truth to my heart. All within me wants to shout praise to the One who is, was and will always be..
.
MY WONDERFUL COUNSELOR.. Holder of my mind and decisions, actions, helping, guiding directing my path as I travel my road.
.
MY MIGHTY GOD… Without a doubt the One who holds me up when I fall down, no matter how spectacularly.. He carries me..
.
MY ETERNAL FATHER…Always and forever holds my heart..
.
MY PRINCE OF PEACE. The Prince of my peace, when life throws me lemons or when all feels lost, He is there to fill me with His peace that surpasses ALL understanding..

Happy Sunday..covered in much much love..❤️
Yes and Amen! I love all that you said! Happy Sunday back to you. ❤️
Carolina, Psalm 4:8 gives me comfort at times when I cannot find rest. I pray this prayer for you today… “I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety”. Amen
❤️
Amen! We had a terrible fire last December and the replays were unrelenting and made sleep difficult to impossible. This verse (along with the prayers of friends) carried me through those days and nights. ❤️
❤️
❤️
So powerful. I can’t sleep because a lot of negative memories have been flooding into my mind. PTSD is so tricky because even though you know you never have to go back to that bad place again, you still suffer from residual anxiety and unwanted thoughts.
Carolina, I’m praying for you now. That the Lord continues to replace the memories with praise and joy for Him, even now. May your physical body find rest tonight just as your soul has found rest in Him, our Hope.
Carolina, lifting you in prayer and prayerful you find peace in holding onto God.. He is merciful, faithful and He will give you the rest you need.. He is your shepherd..
Blessings..
So sorry that you suffer with PTSD. I will be praying that God give you peace in your mind and thoughts and that He will replace all the negative memories with things of joy. ❤️
Praying this too. ❤️
Carolina, my heart goes out to you! Joining our sister SHES in prayer for rehabilitation from this PTSD and that
“the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,”
will guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.(from Philippians 4:7). ❤
