As a parent, I am familiar with my directions, wisdom, and warnings falling onto the deaf ears of my kids. If I’ve told them once, I’ve told them a thousand times.
“Pick your Hot Wheels up off the floor.”
“Floss your teeth.”
“For the love, please turn out the lights when you leave your room for the day!”
However, because they are often distracted and not fully invested in their own well-being just yet, I often need to offer friendly (and sometimes not-so-friendly) reminders.
Today’s reading brings us to the faithful, enduring prophet Jeremiah, who spent his days (really years) pleading with the people of God to turn from their sin and bow only to the Lord. His warning and direction was given again and again. However, the people did not see the sin in their lifestyle and, even more so, were not expectant of a coming Messiah. They chose to ignore the disaster that would come from ignoring God’s Word. They missed the blessing in being obedient to God and were apathetic to the hope of salvation. Therefore Jeremiah brought this stark warning to the people. He showed God’s grace by giving them a repeated warning rather than abandoning them in silence to their own ways.
Don’t miss this: God spoke to them then, and God still speaks to us now. He is a God who is with us and points a dying world to salvation.
While we didn’t live in Jerusalem in 620 BC, we can draw a parallel to the people of Judah and ourselves. You, too, may have struggled with believing that Jesus has come for you personally. And even if that truth has settled in your heart, does the day-to-day of life distract you from the hope and promise of salvation? Are you apathetic to the goodness that God has placed in your life? Are we living according to the truth that He who has come will come again?
Because Advent means “coming” or “arrival,” this season of reflection and expectation invites us to share the truth of Christ to ourselves and to others. We can prepare our hearts by recalling that Christ came in the flesh to make a way for us.
The fool says in his heart, “There’s no God.” They are corrupt; they do vile deeds. There is no one who does good. The LORD looks down from heaven on the human race to see if there is one who is wise, one who seeks God.
—Psalm 14:1–2
We are seekers of God. And this season, as we acknowledge the truth that He has come, may we also recognize these truths: He will come again, and the world needs to hear the good news.
The prophet Jeremiah pointed to the promise of Jesus as evidence of God’s graciousness on display in his warning. We, too, can share God’s good news and the truth of salvation in Him to a lost world through our words, actions, and love.

I believe He is coming again. Although there has been tough seasons lately I can still see a light and believe that Jesus loves me personally ——knows me from the inside out. @gracie, I too get to comfortable in the day to day to persue Him but we are here! These advent days are meant to refresh our souls and remember that Jesus is the reason for this season and that His grace is enough even on the days that we forget or are too busy to seek Him. Oh How He Loves Us!
Seekers of God. I have become so comfortable in my faith that I have stopped seeking Him. I’m starting to see the repercussions of this and it has been hard. I’m definitely struggling in multiple areas of my life. But he gently reminds me to continue seeking Him ❤️
❤️
Amen
Lord, may I live my life in such a way that others see Jesus in me! Grant me courage to proclaim the good news to others and be intentional is telling those around me about Jesus.
❤️
God has offered us salvation so we much now go share it with others! if you had the cure to a worldwide sickness, would you keep it to yourself?
Jesus is coming back! <3

This brings to mind something I recently heard in church: “Our walk is the most powerful testimony we will ever have.” This means that even when we don’t think others are watching we should still be living for Jesus because our actions are always going to be speaking louder than our words.
Praying for others to realize what a gift God has given us and that we would use our days to serve Him where we are. Always remember, he answers prayer and I just want to encourage you this season that if God puts something on your heart, do it. You’ll be glad you did. Just recently He put something on my heart and after much prayer for an open door to do it I took the opportunity and was so glad I did.
❤️
Amen ❤️

Really grateful for today’s reminder that Jesus is the True Prophet who speaks God’s heart with clarity and compassion ❤️
❤️
I pray that I would listen to the things God says to me and follow after his truth in my own life.
Amen!
Thank you She’s for all your wisdom, insightfulness, and prayers. ❤️
My reply after your post is not working.
Reminds me to keep sharing the good news of Jesus! In this society of instant gratification, sinful me gives up so easily
My precious mother in law prints hundreds of this poem out each Christmas. This is my 21st Christmas with my husband and for all of those years I can remember her printing this poem on beautiful Christmas paper and laying them all over the mall and shops, handing them to strangers, giving them to family. We have a car dealership and this year she gave me a stack. I am putting one with each customers title work. I told her the other day, how beautiful will it be when she gets to heaven and sees the people there touched by her heart to hand these poems out for so many years.
.
If you look for me this Christmas…
You won’t need a special star…
I’m no longer just in Bethlehem,
I’m right there where you are.
You may not be aware of me…
Amid the celebrations…
You’ll have to look beyond the stores
And all the decorations.
But if you take a moment
From your list of things to do…
And listen to your heart, you’ll find
I’m waiting there for you.
You’re the one I want to be with
You’re the reason that I came…
And you’ll find Me in the stillness
As I’m whispering your name.
Love, Jesus
Beautiful!!❤️✨

Beautiful ❤️
Dear Kristy, thank you sharing! Love this ❤️
I LOVE the fact that she makes them and gets them out however she can, for SO many years even!! Indeed Beautiful!!
It’s amazing how we could ALL do things to make a difference this Christmas season! Be creative and just get Jesus out however we can! As I heard about the poem, I was thinking that would be good to put in our homeless gift bags that we are thinking about, but- It doesn’t really go- BUT got me thinking of what could go in them to think about Jesus, or to write in the card!
Beautiful Kristy !!
Love this and love the poem. It’s beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I just took a screenshot so I can keep it and read it over and over.
Traci, my heart cries with you. I have family that not so much says they reject God but they basically ignore ot seem to go deaf if I mention Jesus. im sure they think that Im the old lady with the old fashioned ideas.
Trust our God will call on those He has chosen to be His. I might never see them come to Jesus but that’s not my job. The Holy Spirit is on duty for salvation. Let’s not lose heart in doing good and loving others as we love ourselves. Let’s trust our Jesus to be in control and to keep us humble and loving. I’m praying for you, Traci, right now and that God will continue to draw your family to know, love and serve our great and all powerful God.
❤️
My step daughter recently told me I could keep my God. At thanksgiving she was talking about seances and such. Today’s study made me think of her. She is lost. She is mostly unhappy. I pray that she can see God’s hope and love in me. That I will remember to not get angry with her, but to show her love.
.
I have struggled this season with a heaviness that feels similar to when I knew Tanner was not going to live much longer. I’m not sure why this year. But I have been reading along just not commenting so much.
That would be very hard to hear. Praying for her, for all our unsaved family, and for His joy to return to your heart. ❤️

Praying God softens her heart and puts others in her life who will speak truth to her, that her eyes would be opened this advent season. That God would comfort you, and ease the heaviness you are feeling, that His peace that passes understanding would guard your heart ♥️
That would be so difficult to hear, Traci. Praying the Lord would move in ways only He can, that her heart would ne softened.
And Traci, praying also for comfort for your heart, that the heaviness would ease. The ongoing weight of such loss would just be unimaginable…I’m sorry. May Jesus be near to your tender heart❤️
We have many in our family that could “care less about God.” It is sad, But don’t let it change your mood! Keep on preaching! Not obnoxious, but she will see Jesus in you in your fruits, caring regardless if returned. It would be hard that it is your husband’s daughter!
Dear Traci Gendron I am praying for you and for your daughter. Hurt people often reject Hod, I believe He was a way to reach even the most hurt of people. I will pray for this for your daughter.
Whoops that was supposed to say God! I was very tired yesterday while posting !

The Psalms 14 verses hit me! I thought of these verses that I pray daily! “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
Psalms 139:23-24 NIV
https://bible.com/bible/111/psa.139.23-24.NIV
It is so easy to slip away! I pray this over my family too!
Praying for all and the lost!
AMEN!
As I went to Biblegateway to study notes on today’s verses, I was struck by their verse of the day and checked the notes on it.
Verse of the day – Deuteronomy 18:15 NLT-
Moses continued, “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him.
NOTE from John MacArthur Study Bible-
“a Prophet like me. The singular pronoun emphasizes the ultimate Prophet who was to come. Both the OT (34:10) and the NT (Acts 3:22, 23; 7:37) interpret this passage as a reference to the coming Messiah, who like Moses would receive and preach divine revelation and lead His people (cf. John 1:21, 25, 43–45; 6:14; 7:40).
In fact, Jesus was like Moses in several other ways:
1) He was spared death as a baby (Ex. 2; Matt. 2:13–23);
2) He renounced a royal court (Phil. 2:5–8; Heb. 11:24–27); 3) He had compassion on His people (Num. 27:17; Matt. 9:36);
4) He made intercession for the people (Deut. 9:18; Heb. 7:25);
5) He spoke with God face to face (Ex. 34:29, 30; 2 Cor. 3:7); and
6) He was the mediator of a covenant (Deut. 29:1; Heb. 8:6, 7).”

Sarah said,”Because Advent means ‘coming’ or ‘arrival,’ this season of reflection and expectation invites us to share the truth of Christ to ourselves and to others. We can prepare our hearts by recalling that Christ came in the flesh to make a way for us.”
May I/we hear and recognize God’s Voice in this season and always. May I/we boldly share this great news with others knowing that it is our job to share and the Holy Spirit convicts. We share and we trust Him with the rest.

Josh Turner – Go Tell It On The Mountain (Performance Video)
Last verse and chorus:
Down in a lowly manger
Our humble Christ was born
And brought us all salvation
That blessed Christmas morn
Go, tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere
Go, tell it on the mountain
That Jesus Christ is born
That Jesus Christ is born
✨
Love, hugs, and prayers! ❤
I love this song, totally forgot about it.
Thank you, Sarah Wood, for today’s devotion. I was having a hard time seeing Advent in today’s readings.
.
Let us lead people to Him for repentance the whole year through.
Amen! Oh, that boldness to share the gospel to a dying world be stirred up within me. We know the One who saves and we can still sound the warning, Repent, for the kingdome of heaven is at hand!
Help me seek you, God!
Good Morning my She’s!
Please pray for favor on Tosha (a butterfly from jail ministry) that has a very scary court date today where they are seeking the death penalty or life in prison. Pray the Lord give her strength and courage today as she goes into the Lion’s den, that protection will surround her in calmness and faith in her Savior. Whatever happens she will be steadfast.
Today’s reading is powerful again. Anyone can know Jesus these days. A true sign of the coming of the Lord being close! You can stick Jesus in Google, which reports have shown THEY HAVE in droves this past few months (after the death of Charlie Kirk) But God wants to use US not Google. Our love for Jesus and “by the words of our testimonies!!” I can tell you since I have started to allow God to use me, opened my ears and eyes, listened to the Holy Spirit—He uses me constantly and amazingly!! We pray for the lost…BUT we can sprinkle the seeds with our actions, water them with our words, and bring them to Harvest by ASKING them if they Have Jesus in their hearts!!! WE can bring them to Salvation!! And once you have you become HOT, on fire for the Lord!! Knowing that he uses ALL his disciples as ministers to the lost!! Get busy She’s, we have lots of work to do!
And what better time then at Christmas when Emmanuel came to us!! Hope has a name! Peace has a name! JOY has a name, and LOVE has a name!! Let God show you the way! Pray- Lord, I want to share what I have in you, Jesus Christ. The hope that I needed you brought me, the peace I seek, you cover me- Lord I know so many people lost with coverings over their eyes and ears, but soften their hearts so I may share you in a way that penetrates! If I love you, and I know what you have done for this wretched soul, I can share that with anyone, what is holding me back Lord?! For you can use anyone, your word shows that. Allow my pride and fear to make way for the Holy Spirit to guide and direct me…today Lord, this week Lord! I will know it when my heart stirs!! I will honor you, for you are my Lord, Father God, who brought forth the Prophet, the Everlasting Prince of Peace, Mighty Councilor, Jehovah Rapha, Yeshua that saves!! Thank you in Jesus mighty Holy name!!
Yes! Amen!

The words then, are so relevant now.
“The fool says in his heart, “There’s no God.” They are corrupt; they do vile deeds. There is no one who does good.” Psalm 14:1 All of these passages today tell us of foolish and godless people, they warn us. They hit hard. We do not have to look far to see this brokeness of this fallen world and we are surrounded by countless people – acquaintances, friends, family, loved ones that don’t know Jesus or have turned away. Our hearts are so burdened and heavy for these. I have been diligent in praying for these, in speaking truth and proclaiming the good news to these. But, also, I think too, these passages are a heart check…am I a fool? Am I too complacent? Am I blinded or missing to truly following hard after the Lord? Am I too easily distracted to hear Him? To See Him? To Listen to Him? To serve Him? To follow Him?
Heavenly Father, draw me close. Help me drown out the noise, speak to my heart, lead me, guide me and show me how to live in surrender to you. May your love, joy and hope be genuine, authentic and evidenced in my life so others may see and know. Give me courage, boldness and wisdom to proclaim the Truth of who you are to point others to you. Amen
Amen. Praying with you.
“For twenty three years I have spoken to you again and again but you have not listened.” Twenty three years!! That’s a long time to prophesy and have no one pay attention! It makes me think of all our prodigals, whom we are constantly praying for and sharing the truth of God’s word with. How long will it go on before God chastises them? Why do they wait? Why did I wait? When will they turn to Him? All these questions but no answers. I am just so thankful that God is merciful, patient, long-suffering and kind. And that even when bringing His judgement on His children – He has a plan to rescue them and set them free at the appointed time.
.
May God give me the boldness and courage to share the good news of salvation to a lost world (and family members) through our words, actions, and love.

…”even if that truth has settled in your heart, does the day-to-day of life distract you from the hope and promise of salvation? Are you apathetic to the goodness that God has placed in your life? Are we living according to the truth that He who has come will come again?” — Some really good questions to ponder today.

Blessings to you all sweet sisters!❤️
♥️… We pray (and believe) on!!
❤️
(heart) and AMEN!!! Wrapped up perfectly! We should have another LIVE on our FB page for Christmas! And check in on our dear ERB, I miss her!
We continue to pray. That’s really all that we can do. And that is enough because the Lord in his good timing will carry all things through.
Amen! What a great reading today. My heart breaks for those I know, loved ones ignoring, disbelieving the love of God in Christ Jesus!
I understand. Mine breaks too. I know God loves them and I will keep praying for their salvation.
“…Christ came in flesh to make a way for us.” Thank you, Jesus!
Lord, I pray you would open our eyes to see where we are blind to You in our lives. We know you are working, but sometimes we forget when Your plan looks different than ours. Help us to surrender and lean on You Heavenly Father. Your will be done, Amen. | Thank you for those who prayed for Seth and his mom to make it home safely. I wish I could upload the family photo that was sent to me!
Are you on our FB page Susan? For those that want to find it- under SRT SHE’S.

Praying for them
Amen Sis……Some of the very words from your prayer are the same words I wrote in my study guide book for the reading…. The very sentiments of my heart. Thank you for sharing.
Please pray for my sister and sister-in-law. I worry that they are turning away and I pray God continues to speak to them and that they listen, understand, and obey His truth.
Praying
Our sermon this week was on hearing the Voice of God. The pastor emphasized that God is still speaking today, but the problem is we are not listening. People say they want to hear God’s Voice. They just wish He would tell them what to do. But as our pastor pointed out, He is telling us – through His Word, by stirring our hearts, and sometimes through soft whispers in our spirits. But the problem is that we are not listening! Because maybe we don’t like what He is saying. We want to do it another way. Or perhaps we have so much noise around us from the World, that His still soft Voice is drowned out. This season I am trying to turn off a lot of the noise, and truly listen. One last thing he said: not hearing from God isn’t an “ears” problem, it’s a “heart” problem. Oh Lord, may I clean my ears of worldly noise and turn my heart towards You and only You.
Amen!
Amen! ❤️
I have been thinking about the second coming of Christ and if I live like that is a promise. I definitely need to meditate on this.
May we all be healed of blindness. Blindness to our sin. Blindness to our waywardness from God. Lord, help us see! And help us see You, ourselves and others rightly. And in so doing invoke Your presence and Your Kingdom in every moment today!
I often pray that God will open my eyes. I know there is so much that I miss.
❤️
❤️
God spoke then and He still speaks now, pointing a dying world to salvation!
Lord May I remember Your coming!! In the messiness and heartaches of this life.
BG verse today Deuteronomy 18:15
“The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear,
.
Twenty-three years. Jeremiah 25:3 …this is the twenty-third year in which the word of the Lord has come to me; and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, but you have not listened.
Y’all, doesn’t this read like he spoke to them daily? If so, that’s over 8000 days of warnings, pleadings and calls to repentance that were ignored and/or 8000 days of denial or procrastination to take the step of acknowledging and believing God.
And the verses from Psalm 14 are heartbreaking and at a glance, correlate to the current state of the world. But today, my SRT sisters and I know there IS a God, our God, the one and only God and we are not turning aside. We are seeking Him and believing His word. Day by day, living for Him and sharing with others.
.
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

Praying for my lost, your lost, all the lost.

SUSAN BURLEY – praying for Seth and his family as they adjust to being home, especially praying his faith will strengthen and his thoughts will only be those that are tuned into the Lord, His love and goodness – even in these many months of pain, healing, trials and challenges, there’s victory in Jesus.
Thank you for sharing Searching- surprised the Deuteronomy verse isn’t listed today! Jeremiah pleaded for the people and they didn’t listen. Today, people are too busy with stuff to hear and see Jesus, or blatantly choose to ignore or to search and discover! Or the pride is too strong in our own life. It’s funny that the young people now are open and proponents of therapy–BUT it’s the wrong kind! To better ourselves through our own mantras and platitudes! WE can never save ourselves! We need the true Prophet!
Amen❤️
“They missed the blessing in being obedient to God and were apathetic to the hope of salvation.”
.
Thinking to myself, Do I show those around me that being obedient is a blessing or a burden? How comfortable am I that I could be apathetic to HOPE? Sobering heart check.
.
From HRT today: “Generation after generation, God’s voice was a consistent one. He spoke through the patriarchs, and He spoke through the judges. He spoke through the kings, and He spoke through the prophets. He warned, pleaded, invited, and led, but again and again, it was ignored. God promised a Savior once and for all, something we all desperately need, but it sure seems like His people missed the message.”
.
God is still warning, pleading, and inviting. May we be His instruments to bring His message of hope and forgiveness.
.
RHONDA J – praying for your Butterfly Tosha’d court appearance today. May she sense God’s peace and presence.

SUSAN BURLEY – praying for Seth’s continued healing of body and mind. May being home be a turn in his mental state.

That was the line that stood out to me also. May I not be apathetic to the hope of salvation!
Thank you for sharing these thoughts
That is a good share from HRT! TY. And thank you so very much for praying for Tosha.
Oh to be lukewarm. Apathetic to to hope. (gulp) I certainly was much of my life! Growing up in church you can be very comfortable in your “religion.” And the question before that you asked-is being obedient a blessing or a burden?! Such a good heart check as you said!!
Amrn ❤️Thank you for sharing.
Praying over these requests
May we listen to Your Word, LORD. May we pray with sincere hearts, bringing our faults to You. May we seek to follow in Your way, for You are the only Way. Help us to trust You and take You at Your word. In Jesus’s name, amen.

3 All have turned away;
all alike have become corrupt.
There is no one who does good,
not even one..
.
This verse really and truly breaks my heart.. this was written so, so, so long ago, and yetbit still rings true today!
Have we not changed, listened, heard the truth, at all??
.
Have we not been pruvvy to the love and faithfulness of GOD covering us over all the years since the beginning of time?
.
We ask GOD often..”How long..” Maybe we should look to self.. How long has GOD been waiting for us, His chosen people to “Turn, each of you(us) from your(our) sin-filled way of life, and from sinful deeds…”
.
How long?
.
BUT GOD.
.
OH, BUT GOD..
.
True to His never changing character, He still Pursues us. He still is faithful. He is still covers us in His loving kindness. His grace..
.
He STILL believes in us..
And so He continues to chase us, in the quiet of our hearts, and over the loudest drums of deception and sin.. All we need do, is hear the gentle whispers of love and mercy, of grace and hope.. even correction at times, of salvation through His Son, JESUS and His great sacrifice for us.. It is in those moments that we can be the people He would love and knows us to be.. sharing His love in our words, actions and deeds..
.
He WILL come, we just need to be ready..
.
AMEN.
.
.
Happy Wednesday to all. I am reminded of this song as I write.. People get ready.. there’s a day a coming..
Much love..❤️

Yes, Tina, people get ready.
All God’s promises are Yes and Amen in Christ Jesus! Thanks be to God
“He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!” Revelation 22:20 I remind myself often that maybe today He will come!
So good! Love the song!
Have you heard “People Get Ready” by Eva Cassidy. Take a listen. She has a beautiful voice
Today on Ann and Dave Wilson’s Real Family Life, they suggested that “But God” were some of the greatest words in the Bible. ❤️
Oh Ladies – could not these words that described Israel so long ago describe our current culture, also – “However, the people did not see the sin in their lifestyle and, even more so, were not expectant of a coming Messiah.” And I know from our former testimonies, some in our circle of close friends and family!!
This Advent season, may those closest to us and those we encounter randomly see the Light of the World in us and be drawn to Jesus!! Amen.
Amen and amen.
Yes and amen❤️
