Grace Day

Open Your Bible

1 Corinthians 15:54-57

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

When this corruptible body is clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal body is clothed with immortality, then the saying that is written will take place:

Death has been swallowed up in victory.
Where, death, is your victory?
Where, death, is your sting?

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
—1 Corinthians 15:54–57

Took me a minute to figure out this morning why “ Christ the Lord is Risen Today” was in my head…
    Vs 3
Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once he died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where’s thy victory, boasting grave? Alleluia!
    .
Part of our 1st Corinthians verse today:
“Death has been swallowed up in victory.
    Where, death, is your victory?
    Where, death, is your sting?”

What a beautiful community, SRT is! I’ve recently joined—last month was my first month reading with y’all. I got my SRT Bible last year (4th Bible I own), and God was tugging on my heart to join the community conversation. I’m SO grateful I did.

May God Bless and Keep you all. Have a beautiful Grace/Sabbath.

      Welcome..♥️

  10. Cheryl Blow says:

I love a grace day! We all need to show others and ourselves a little grace! I needed this. For over a week I’ve been battling a stomach bug and the sensitivity after it. I’ve never shared but I deal with a lot of stomach issues, part from having fibromyalgia but also, food sensitivity for gluten, dairy, fructose, onions, garlic and other things. I try very hard to not let any of this stop me but this last bug has wrung me out! I’m just tired all the time. I know part of it is because I lost around 8 lbs in 4 days. I’m getting where I can eat more normal but still have to be careful. I am filling in for our kids pastor tomorrow so she can have a break.

Please pray for strength in my weakness and for continued improvement. I know that was long so sorry. I feel like this is a safe place to share. I don’t usually let others know other than my husband and daughters. Thank you for this safe place!

    1. Tricia C says:

Feel better Cheryl! Praying now for your rest this weekend.

    2. Mari V says:

Oh Cheryl so sorry to hear your not feeling well. Stomach issues are no fun. I’ve had close friends experience what you’ve been experiencing. Praying for you right now. YES, this is a safe place and so glad you reached out! We love you sweet lady. Praying all goes well tomorrow

    3. Cee Gee says:

Cheryl, I am so sorry! Praying you have sufficient energy for tomorrow’s commitment and are much improved soon! Thanks for sharing with us! ❤

    4. Rhonda J says:

First off, that’s awesome that you are leading for the day!! I could NOT do kids! I have had stomach issues for 20 years, so I feel you! No bueno. But the stomach flu is awful! (but the cleansing can be a good thing, now you can start adding in what you know to be good!) Sorry you suffer with Fibro– that’s one of those silent suffering conditions that it seems like no one gets! Have you thought about a chronic pain group at your church?! It is so good for us to come together and “get” each other that others don’t understand!
Also…It is fabulous that you and your husband decided to open your house for anyone on Thanksgiving!! Praying God will use it in just the right way!

      Hugs to feel better soon!

    5. Mercy says:

Praying Cheryl. What a sacrifice you give.❤️

    6. B says:

Prayers for healing and strength. ❤️

    7. AZ Walker says:

  12. Leanna Thompson says:

We had a tragedy in our community yesterday. I was a little surprised it made national news. Please pray that people will slow down and be kind on our roadways.

    1. Cheryl Blow says:

    2. Mari V says:

      Praying

    3. Cee Gee says:

LEANNA, I was just thinking of you yesterday! Yes, people need to take driving more seriously! ❤

  13. AnnaMarie L says:

    Amen.

  14. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Wow!Only a portion of my comment was posted, not sure why! Trying to remember what I said, this was some of it, referring to yesterday’s study…
    .
“He is always with us, and He cares for us. His ears are open to our prayers, and He is not indifferent to our cries.”
“Therefore, have hope for your children, for your parents, and for your neighbors who are not yet believers. God is constantly at work.”
    .
This was a reminder I needed to hear, and to hear often. Some days I am so saddened by my two prodigal sons rejection of God. But this – it reminds me that God is still at work, He’s not finished (with any of us) yet and as long as we are living and breathing – there is hope!
    .
Praying for my sons, your prodigals and for the lost world to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

    Where, death, is your victory?
    Where, death, is your sting?
    .
Thanks be to God, because He gives us the victory through Jesus Christ and we know longer have to fear death or what is on the other side of it!

This song “No Fear” by Jon Reddick comes to mind:
.I got enemies at every side
It ain’t looking good, I ain’t gonna lie
    Arrows flying, devil’s trying
To make me think I’m going down this time
You might think that I’d be afraid
Running scared with a shaken faith
But the God I know says it ain’t over
The God I know is gonna make a way
Yea, though I walk through the valley
    I will have
No fear (no fear), no fear (no fear)
    The mighty power of Jesus
    Is fighting for me here
No fear (no fear), no fear (no fear)
    The light of the world
    Makes the darkness disappear
    No fear
Not over my life, not over my life, not over my life
    No fear
Not over my life, not over my life, not over my life
No fear when I’m walking through the fire
‘Cause I know who’s walking me through
No fear when the floodwaters rise
If I got my eyes on you
No fear (no fear), no fear (no fear)
    The mighty power of Jesus
    Is fighting for me here
No fear (no fear), no fear (no fear)
    The light of the world
    Makes the darkness disappear
    No fear
Not over my life, not over my life, not over my life
    No fear
Not over my life, not over my life, not over my life
Not over my family, not over my future
Not over my life, God’s over my life
Not over my battles, not over my struggles
Not over my life, God’s over my life (no fear)
Not over my family, not over my future
Not over my life (no fear), God’s over my life (no fear)
Not over my battles, not over my struggles
Not over my life (no fear), God’s over my life (no fear)
Yea, though I walk through the valley
    I will have
No fear (no fear), no fear (no fear)
    The mighty power of Jesus
Is fighting for me here (fighting for me here)
No fear (no fear), no fear (no fear)
    The light of the world
    Makes the darkness disappear
    No fear
Not over my life, not over my life, not over my life
    No fear
Not over my life, not over my life, not over my life
    No fear
Not over my life, not over my life, not over my life (God’s over my life, oh)
No fear (God’s over my life, oh)
Not over my life, not over my life, not over my life

Happy Saturday She’s – be blessed!

    1. Leanna Thompson says:

      Love this song!

    2. Cheryl Blow says:

Praying for your sons and all the prodigals and unsaved!

    3. Carol J Mylin says:

Thanks, Dear Sharon… this is exactly where my ♥️ went…as l’ve been reading! I’m so thankful that our prodigal son and family all have the Truth of God’s Word hidden deep in their minds and hearts… praying that God will activate it and call to them inside of their own hearts and minds!! Prayers this for yours and other’s Prodigals, as well!!

    4. Mari V says:

Praying for your sons. AND yes…as long as we are living and breathing, there is HOPE! I have prodigal siblings and there is still HOPE!

    5. Cee Gee says:

Another car singing, steering wheel slapping song of mine! ☺❤

  15. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Good morning She’s! Catching up today on yesterday’s reading. “He is always with us, and He cares for us. His ears are open to our prayers, and He is not indifferent to our cries.”…

  16. Rhonda J. says:

Oh death, where is your sting!! No longer do we have to fear! Even in death, it no longer holds the terrifying dread or apprehension because we are promised everlasting life IN Jesus Christ!! He came to conquer death, so we may live!!
    A big Hallelujah!!
I will not be afraid, in the end you will lose, oh death…where is your sting??!! Mercyme- “Oh Death!”

Oh death, I will not be afraid
In the end you will lose
I will dance on your grave with the one who buried you
You ain’t nothin’ but a stone that my savior rolled away
Set you straight and set me free
Oh death, you are dead to me
(Oh death, you are dead to me)

But sin remains. And it shows us we can never follow God’s law, if Jesus hadn’t come to be our ultimate sacrifice! May I never take that for granted, that he made a way when there was NO way. Only through him, are we cleanse, and made righteous! Sanctification is an ongoing thing, that we must embrace. Don’t stop growing, learning, and changing. We are to pray daily for the daily bread, and new mercies. We are only perfected through the Son!! Thank you Jesus!

    1. Cheryl Blow says:

      Amen!

    2. Cee Gee says:

❤ That song is so new, I forgot about it!

    3. Mercy says:

      Amen. Ongoing love. Ongoing sanctification.❤️

    4. Amy W says:

My daughter heard that song and asked me why it said “oh death, where did your skin go?” She had me laughing so now every time I hear it I think of her comment.

  17. Kelly (NEO) says:

From Handel’s Messiah “The Trumpet Shall Sound”
    .
Raised to life eternal with a body that will be built for eternity . . . One fine day.

  18. Cee Gee says:

The sting of death was conquered by Christ! Praise the Lord!
    .
    .
    John MacArthur Study Bible notes:
“Paul enhanced his joy at the reality
of resurrection by quoting from Is. 25:8 and Hos. 13:14. The latter quote taunts death as if it were a bee whose sting was removed. That sting was the sin that was exposed by the law of God (see notes on Rom. 3:23; 4:15; 6:23; Gal. 3:10–13),
but conquered by Christ in His death (see notes on Rom. 5:17; 2 Cor. 5:21).”
    .
    .
    Love, hugs,and prayers!

SONG SHARE – The Blood Will Never Loose It’s Power by Andrew Crouch:
    (Verse 1)
The blood that Jesus shed for me
    Way back on Calvary
The blood that gives me strength
    From day to day
It will never lose its power

    [Verse 2]
It soothes my doubts and it calms my fears
And that same blood dries all of my tears
Oh, the blood that gives me strength
    From day to day
It will never lose its power
    (Chorus]
Oh, I’m glad that it reaches to the highest mountain
And it flows to the lowest valley
Oh, the blood that gives me strength
    From day to day
It will never lose its power
Oh, I’m glad that it reaches to the highest mountain
Do you believe that it flows to the lowest valley?
Mm, I’m glad that the blood that gives me strength
    From day to day
It will never lose its power

    4. Rhonda J says:

That makes me think of “Power in the Blood” there is pow’r, pow’r, wonder working in pow’r …in the blood..(in the blood), of the lamb (of the lamb)…there is power, power, power in the lamb..of the precious blood of the lamb!

      1. Cee Gee says:

From mortal to immortal, through the power of Christ over death. Hallelujah!
    .
Prayer request for protection and wisdom for someone I know facing a challenging situation.
    .
MARY – beautiful testimony of your coworker’s salvation ❤️
ELIZABETH – praying your friend’s heart and mind become open to the truth of Christ ❤️
RHONDA J – yes, the churches won’t be empty after the rapture. So much breaks my heart today about the Christians and churches whose beliefs are conflicting with God’s word. They are spreading misinformation that is readily received because the message is that people don’t have to change their lives or lifestyles, anything goes.
PENNY RENFRO -joining you in prayer for these family members, and mine ❤️
GWINETH52 ❤️❤️ yes!! Keep our eyes on Jesus! Maintain our spiritual balance! The Word became flesh and was sent to save, hallelujah. It definitely takes training of our hearts and minds to stave off the pulls and tugs of distractions of the past and the present.
TRUDIE MOLES – nope, you aren’t the only one. It IS scary to read what the unsaved will face, and even scarier to talk with them and get disregarded because they don’t believe it can or will happen.
CEE GEE – yes, we have hope! Will listen to the song you mentioned, thanks ❤️
MERCY ❤️ another good one, sister. Watch expectantly and pray always. The gathering of the saved will be instantaneous. The twinkling of an eye is a split second. Praying the unbelievers come to know Christ today.
MARI V – praying that any dental procedures needed will be gentle ❤️
FOSTER MAMA ❤️ praying for the adoptive family choice, and for your heart and his in the transfer.

  22. Gwineth52 says:

    Good Morning Shes
As we approach Day 7 in our 21 day …7 x 3…that number 7 again…community study of the Book of Revelation, somehow a well known verse in Apostle Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians springs to mind. Please allow me a bit of creative license:
    The original:
“We are hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9, NIV)
    My Likening:
“We are challenged by each chapter, but yet determined; confused, but not deterred; gripped, but not giving in; caught in confusion, yet fully expectant”.
Today in mortal bodies we read, pray, rest in the Unknowable.
One day in new bodies All will be fully Known.
By Faith, my Sisters, by Faith.

    1. Searching says:

      Good job and amen, sister!

    2. Mollie says:

Wonderful. I read it thinking of the chapters of my life!

    5. Cathy Tubby says:

Beautiful and fitting + ENCOURAGING! Thank you! ❤
