Weekly Truth

Open Your Bible

Romans 15:4

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

As you read, we will spend the next five weeks memorizing our key verse, Romans 15:4. This week we will memorize the first half of the verse.

For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that we may have hope through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures.
—Romans 15:4

Thank you! ❤️ This is my first community reading plan and it helps me to talk through sometimes even if I’m the only one confused. I’m excited to be on this journey with y’all.

What a gift it is to have the written Word. History, testimony, instruction, encouragement, truth. It is the light to our path and the lamp to our feet.(Psalm 118:105) Thank you, Lord

    Sunday Blessings, SRT sisters❤️

Some of the Bible is the family history of the 12 tribes!

Forever grateful that God left us His written word. I would be so lost without it!

Hope through endurance sparked a question for me. I don’t want to just memorize, I want it to be written on my heart. Before I can do that I have to understand it. At first it seems oddly worded, how can endurance be the result of hope, don’t you need hope to endure? Thank God for multiple translations at our fingertips! “Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Or “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Timely that our Lifeway SS lesson this week is on Psalm 105-106!
Intro in study guide says, “Psalm 105 not only demonstrates that we need to remember God’s faithfulness in keeping His promises, but we also need to recognize He deserves our worship because He is faithful to us.” (Explore the Bible Series, Summer 2025.)
