Grace Day

Open Your Bible

1 Corinthians 8:5-6

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth—as there are many “gods” and many “lords”—yet for us there is one God, the Father. All things are from him, and we exist for him. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ. All things are through him, and we exist through him.
—1 Corinthians 8:5–6

My Father God, my Jesus…. is all I need! Thank you for praying for safe travels. We are back home and of course… at a local coffee shop ran by Christian’s and their proceeds go to missionaries. The three of us came here to do a quiet time and just spend time together. God is so good. I’m so forever grateful for the our trip He allowed us to go. We had an amazing time!

    Hello Shes
“…as there are many “gods” and many “lords”—yet for us there is one God, the Father… one Lord, Jesus Christ”.
Sometimes I forget how radical & revolutionary these words were in the days of the early church. A clarion call to Oneness that disrupted & dispelled paganism of any form among all peoples.
Lord, in a world overrun by falsities & fads; fakery & foolishness, help me to hold fast to Your Truth.

Father God open the eyes of the lost and turn them from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to You God – so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ. In Jesus Name, Amen.

    Deuteronomy 6:4

“The foundational truth for the world redemption is that there is one G-d who creates and redeems, yet the NT shows that God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Compare the unity of God to the unity of man made in his image: man is comprised of spirit, soul, and body (1 Thess 5:23) Man is not “three beings” but “one being “with physical, emotional and spiritual elements.” Spirit Filled Life Bible

    Good Morning! Happy Wkd!

This is the perfect verse this morning for my small group before discussing the the names of God, his attributes, his creation. This is is our second meeting today for Practicing Prayer. Last week we talk about why prayer can be so hard, seemly easy yet complex. We forget, we are on repeat, surface-y. So many distractions, or not feeling close to God.

So today I want to establish Who God is, and why we can trust him. That is the foundation. Because if we don’t know him and all he has done for us, yet wants to know us intimately, it’s hard to talk with him. We have to know he is trustworthy and good, and loving to confide in him and inquire, and petition.

This week has been good, even though I know the names of God. I wasn’t expecting it to be too much more revealing, but of course with your comments and wisdom, and beautiful hearts, it is always a good study at SRT.
