1 Corinthians 1:8-9

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

For the last two weeks, we’ve memorized 1 Corinthians 1:8–9. Now, let’s memorize the entire passage together.

He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you will be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful; you were called by him into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
—1 Corinthians 1:8–9

Please pray that I will feel God’s love and experience His Presence, and hear His message to me when I pray. The devil knows when we’re at our lowest and uses our weakness to sew seeds of doubt and despair. I don’t like where I am in my life right now.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Oh Teresa, this hurts my heart reading your words. I know this is a big diagnosis, but you are loved by us and we are sending up prayers for you, and you are loved by Him! I know you have a family that cares too. Don’t let the devil feed fear into you dear friend. Your strength and encouragement over the years has been so good for us over the time you have been here. You are an encourager and a Child of the Almighty! And our SISTER! If you lived close I would drive right over to your house and give you a good talk’n to! haha…no I would give you the longest hug and we would cry and pray together! I’m gonna message you in case you don’t come back here tonight. love and hugs!

Dear she’s, happy Sunday to you. This is the day our Good Lord has made, and we shall thank Him for another day, another chance for life. Some people didn’t wake up today and my heart really hurts. My week was full of battles. But praise God He is with us according to the wonderful Book of good news and amazing Promises. I thought I had a bad day, until I saw the news last night. I am reminded again of why we stand, for a calling that is higher than ourselves. Satan works with its agents to bring down God’s people, but the Lord will help us to stand. I am crying to God for the suffering and the battles that we don’t see that certain leaders have to bear in such a time like this, for our sake, the anointed king, yet hunted down by small men, but God’s will prevails. History repeats and nothing new under the sun, but it hurts to witness. An update on my eyes, both are injured and visions are so compromised that I can’t drive. I was crying in pain, but trying to hold it together. We are going to the hospital and seeing eye specialist for long term treatment. I pray no surgery needed. I took most of my sick days this year already so I don’t know how to manage if I need more leave. I would appreciate your prayers that I can find favors and grace with my management for medical leave if needed. Thank you she’s for your covering prayers and love. @SEARCHING hope all is well. Be blessed dear sisters.

Good Morning..Yay it’s Sunday!! After a great week of serving and groups…I love to go to church and just Praise the Lord! Simple. Pure. Praise!

I am enjoying the 1 Corinthians reading and the devotional/comments (no shocker there!)! So grateful for SRT and the great community that reads/learns and prays together and for each other! Corinthians is a great reminder of Paul’s effort to keep continuity in the churches as they were struggling to figure out how they “should be!” Sound familiar today? We try to make churches and our fellowship with God into what we desire and want…but it is what our Creator says that is flat out truth. Thanks for adding the Psalm reading Kelly! We are to Praise our Savior before anything else. Love our God with all our hearts, soul, and mind! We are saved and Loved by Him, that is the truth of His word, and all else is secondary!

    Have a good day!

We try to make churches and our fellowship with God into what we desire and want…..
So true Rhonda, I have been guilty of that and when the community doesn’t meet my expectations I am disappointed with God, or if I don’t experience what I think I should be experiencing I’m disappointed with myself. We are fickle creatures. I will go to church this morning only expecting to meet God there, not how he will meet me. Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on me this morning.

What a timely verse. Last night I prayed to God how am I not supposed to be scared, what do I even pray for? And I heard two things: You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet. And you are to pray my kingdom come my will be done. When I went to Matthew I kept reading this stood out to me Matthew 24:13 NIV
[13] but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. When you put that with our key verse today, but HE will strengthen you, so that we will be able stand firm. I pray that over everyone here. Come Jesus come!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

YES Amen Lanie! I can get scared and overwhelmed..I often thing of how the Jews must have felt in the time of WW2 (well, always really), and now Christian getting more hate than ever here and now in America! It starts an anxiety in me…But God- exactly what you put- He has us in the shelter of his wing! It is a great blessing to know that we are protected by Him. I just finished the Bonhoeffer book, and his imprisonment..and getting killed like 3 weeks before the war ended. But he gave a sermon, there in the prison right before he went to his death, and said he would be proud to go like his Savior did. That you fight the good fight! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    2. Catherine McVey says:

      Yes! Amen Lanie!

  10. Cee Gee says:

Amen KELLY NEO and CAROL M! May hearts be stirred to seek the Lord in these days and may His comfort, strength, and guidance be undeniable. ❤

  11. Kelly (NEO) says:

    Psalm 149:1-5
    .
    Praise the Lord!

Sing to the Lord a new song.
Sing his praises in the assembly of the faithful.

O Israel, rejoice in your Maker.
O people of Jerusalem, exult in your King.

    Praise his name with dancing,
    accompanied by tambourine and harp.

    For the Lord delights in his people;
he crowns the humble with victory.

Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them.
Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds.

UPDATE: Liam was released from the hospital yesterday. Seems to be doing fine. Thank you for your prayers.
    .
ADRIENNE – praying the Lord will encourage you as you continue to seek help for the issues you are experiencing. Maybe start an incident journal, tracking what you eat and your sleep to see what patterns may arise?
    .
Praying for the Lord to bring peace after yesterday’s events in PA. May this be a wakeup call to how destructive our current political climate is.

    1. Carol M says:

Thanks for turning our focus to praise! Agreeing in prayer for our country’s political climate to change… Dear God help us to be faithful to the end…
      Weekly Truth is so applicable!!

“He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you will be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful; you were called by him into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
      —1 Corinthians 1:8–9 ♥️

    2. Adrien says:

Thank you, Kelly. I will do that. A good idea (versus tracking in my head… more concrete!)

      1. Adrienne says:

I can’t even spell my name this am! (Actually I just put drops in my eyes and can’t see!!)

  12. Tiffany Zenes says:

    Amen
