    He sets us free. He wants us to obey. He forgives. He doesn’t lie. He reveals himself.

    2 in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began – Titus 1:2

  5. Sarah Johnson says:

    God never lies. And that same god who was over Titus and Paul loves us and cares for us and will deliver on his promises to us.

  6. E Hong says:

    2in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began 3and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior;

  7. Sharon Ide says:

    I see the brazenness of cutting up God’s Word and tossing it in the fire and I am reminded of my own disregard for the Holy Word of God before the Lord opened my eyes. Truly “twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved.” Forgive me Lord of any continued dishonoring of your truth, may I cling to the words of life.

  8. Joanne says:

    It is encouraging that there were people who believed Jeremiah. When his scribe read the word to the people many were afraid. They must have secretly brought Jeremiah out of his cell for the passage states he and the scribe were hidden from the king. The land was in terrible shape spiritually but there still was a faithful remnant.

    Jeremiah. Dang. What a calling. And I find myself complaining sometimes. Perspective check. He didn’t have one convert or one genuine repentant heart his whole time as prophet. No wonder they call him the weeping prophet.

    How difficult it is to find a man who fulfills the requirements of being an overseer! Such an awesome responsibility to take on and do well.

    1. Stac says:

      Suzanne, I plucked this verse out as well! These are qualities we should all strive for, even if we are not in technical church ministry, we are in HIS ministry. There is always someone watching our actions. “…Above reproach…”

      1. Joy TaMar says:

        I agree. Even though the qualifications are for elders and overseerers, I can see I must carry these requirements too as a believer. I don’t want my walk to confuse those who are lost.

        1. Jennifer says:

          yes! I experienced this about a decade ago. I had a coworker say ‘you go to church?’ as if it were a shocking thing. Talk about a wake up call! So thankful for the Holy Spirit to stir my heart.
