We are broken, we are clinging.

Death is a thief.  And we have suffered a great loss.

Satan comes only to “steal and kill and destroy.” (John 10:10) Our hearts are crushed; our bodies are tired.

Yesterday afternoon, our precious writer and friend, Diana Stone and her husband Sam ushered their 3-week-old son from this earth – from their arms – and into the arms of Christ.

Kaden Isaiah Stone lived 21 days on this earth. He is now at peace with his Jesus.

We are broken. We don’t have answers. But we do know with solid resolve that our sovereign, holy and loving God is not surprised. He is in control. He is unchanging. And He can take this.

He already has.

In John 10:10 Jesus says,
”The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

We cling to this. We cling to a promise not just of life, but abundant life after the destruction of death. In circumstances like this, we often cry out, “Lord, come quickly!” This poor, fallen world is full of death, and as believers, it only acts to wean us from this earth, and woo us to the World to Come.

Join us as we weep together with the Stones.
Lord, surround them with the beautiful body of Christ that they may feel your presence in the hands and feet of your people. We thank you that Kaden Isaiah is free from pain, that he has not lost, but only gained.Comfort those that feel his loss so severely.

We are weaned. We are wooed. Lord, come quickly.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10:11-15
