#StyleForJustice trip + reading plan

BY Raechel Myers

Hey loves!

Remember how we said there’d be a big announcement today?
Remember how we’ve talked recently about those to whom much is given, much is also required?
And what about yesterday? Man, we didn’t even plan that, but God’s timing yesterday had us all asking God to break our hearts for what breaks His.

You guys, we’re just so humbly thrilled to announce that She Reads Truth will be partnering with International Justice Mission (IJM) and Noonday Collection this summer in some super cool ways. IJM and Noonday are two huge-yet-separate-yet-together players in bringing justice to the poor all over the world, and we are honored to link arms with them!

First, Raechel will be traveling to Rwanda this July with a group of awesome world-changers. She and the team will meet with women, tell their stories – give the poor and vulnerable a voice. She may even get to do a bit of designing for some upcoming Noonday products while she’s there!

Raechel will be writing and sharing throughout the trip, so we’ll all be able to follow along with her while she’s there. (Pray with us even now that she will receive something fresh to pour out, in order to promote a more just world!)

Second, we are so excited to announce our first collaborative reading plan! As a follow-up to the trip, the She Reads Truth community will participate in a 2-week study of Biblical Justice, with guest writing from IJM, Noonday, and the girls on the trip! (Lord, what do you have to teach us this summer? Prepare our hearts!)

And third, we have one spot left on the trip and we need to fill it! So, we’re having a happy little contest, and obviously we’d LOVE for it to be someone from the She Reads Truth community!

Details for the #StyleForJustice contest are here, and we’ll definitely keep you posted as the contest timeline progresses so y’all can vote and be voted for!!

Here’s a short video we put together about why, out of all of the things we could be doing this summer, we’ve decided to go to Rwanda with IJM and Noonday Collection. You guys, what an awesome opportunity to be a voice for those who are not heard. Lord, use us to be your hands and feet and to have compassion on your people!

When a student got a graduate certificate he goes to organization for job or work. Sometimes he gets a job and sometimes remains unsuccessful to get it. On the work place he gets help with his education. We help you with education in writing.

Those who are going on the trip (and those who are not!) may enjoy reading Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust, an absolutely amazing autobiography. I think I may need to reread it! Praying for those traveling this summer.

After reading about the trip and many comments on Kelle Hamptons blog my eyes are open to Noonday Collection. On Noonday's blog post about the trip they say, "Make no mistake: we aren’t going to serve, to preach, or even to help. We aren’t going as saviors or as philanthropists or as teachers. We are going to CONNECT." What does that even mean? And why spend a ton of money to travel so far just to "connect"?

I believe wholeheartedly in She Reads Truth but am wondering if this trip is just Poverty Tourism?

Ok, so my heart is stirred and my eyes are opened and I am praying. I have almost finished my application to go to Rowanda….which I know time is ticking!! But, (oh, that word!) my husband is worried about my safety. And, I’ve looked online and it looks like Rowanda might not be very safe. Your thoughts? Trying to discern and process! God, lead!

  5. Wow, this sounds amazing and so close to my heart! I interned with a fair trade clothing brand about a year ago and have since wondered why and how God might use that experience in my future. Whether it's on this trip or in some other avenue I'm absolutely going to be praying for the women going to Rwanda. :) Thanks for bringing this to us SRT.
