Great final verse. How often do I wait in silence? I also like the habbakuk verse “The LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him”

    1. Cee Gee says:

One of my very favorite verses and it always reminds me of the hymn/call to worship we used to sing!
The LORD is in His holy temple
The LORD is inHis hoky temple
Let all the earth keep silent
Let all the earth keep silent…
      Before Him
      .
Thanks, Heather! I needed that! ☺❤

LEANNA THOMPSON- Hope you see this! I mentioned a few authors on the She’s FB page, but I forgot one of my more recent finds : Naomi Rawlings. There are couples in the storylines, but lots of God honoring moments/life lessons. I devoured her books!

    Dear Shes
This has been a community study, “Faith in Practice”, to return to again & again. Bookmark it. Dog ear it. Add it to Home Screen. Create a shortcut. They are called “practices” for a reason. Meaning life long learning. Ongoing. Voluntary. Self-motivated. A deep dive. Throughout our days! As inexhaustible as scripture itself! Which is to say, we will always be beginners!
    Beautiful Blessings!

    1. Wendy B says:

Yes! I agree Gwineth. This study was so practical, with great instruction and challenges to apply scripture in our lives, to intentionally respond in ways that shift our hearts and minds in growing faithfulness to our Jesus.❤️

  4. Mari V says:

My ONE And ONLY hope comes from my JESUS alone!

    Happy Saturday, sweets!

Joining you a little later, almost 11 AM. At my favorite coffee shop catching up on my study guide. Had a very nice hour long walk with my sweet friend praying and talking and sharing. Our girls are at the same college. I miss my girl.

  5. Wendy B says:

Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from him.’ Psalm 62:5

What a great verse to start out a Saturday and be reminded to take a moment and just rest in Jesus. Taking a moment to just say this verse as a breath prayer…. He is our rest, He is my rest.❤️

Thank you Jesus that you are our strength, our peace, our hope and our rest. Help us to find our place in you and you alone. Amen

    1. Cee Gee says:

      Amen! ❤

  6. Rhonda J. says:

All of Psalm 62:5 is so lovely and reassuring. God is our Hope, our Rest, our Joy.
Life has its seasons for sure. And I KNEW mine was coming where it seems heavy. I just knew that I knew that God was preparing my strength. Then I had the passing of my dear friend and co-leader of pain group, and spoke (my fear) at his service. Then the traumatic loss of my niece. The weight of my nephew in prison for 4 years that is unfair, and now my grandson in jail, not knowing the outcome. Put that with my butterflies in jail, spending a year, not knowing their outcome. It is hard, carrying their burdens with them. But this life is about growing with Jesus, and loving others with a fierce love that passes all understanding. The Lord came and died for me, to give me a living hope….to endure…and finish well. And love well. Be the encourager that I try to be, showing Jesus. His hands and feet. And coming HERE to be encouraged myself and strengthened daily. We believers must stand firm and steadfast in Him, by the Holy Spirit!
I can’t wait to go to church and worship in the morning. I swear I could stay all day. I just want to be on my knees in front of my Lord, and rest on him.
Reminded of one of my current songs right now by Tauren Wells “Breath On It!” We need His breath on us.
We never know what tomorrow might bring. But with Him, we will endure.

    1. Cee Gee says:

Good word and great song, Rhonda! ❤ I replied on your post about Brayden on the SHE’S FB page- a song I heard this morning. ❤

  7. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Rest in God alone…He is the only source of true rest.
    .
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty”. Psalm 91:1
    .
Resting in Him today as this past month has been so busy and so many short trips. Now, they are all over and I can truly begin to rest.
    .
Last night my (June) birthday gift came to fruition – a night of Worship In The Pines in Saratoga Springs,NY. It was a very late night (got home at 2 a.m.) but so worth it, worshiping with Rend Collective, Crowder, and Brandon Lake! – Oh how I need rest after that long night!

    Have a blessed Saturday She’s!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Oh that would have been GOOD!! Love all of them!! I am not big anymore on concerts that keep me out and up late, lol, but when I do go and you’re worshiping and praising our KING, well, it is beautiful and worth it by all means!! Wish I could have been with you!!

    2. Wendy B says:

That sounds like a wonderful evening, Sharon ❤️

    3. Cee Gee says:

      Wow! ❤❤❤

  8. Cheryl Blow says:

How wonderful that we have a hope in a faithful and loving God!! We can wait in silence for him because we can trust him!

    Praying for all.

  9. LaRae Taylor says:

    Amen

  10. Cee Gee says:

    From the NIV Application Bible:
“With eyes on the storm, there seems no hope to overcome it. With eyes turned toward self, there is no personal power equal to the task. Only when one can focus on God alone does the power of the storm recede in response to his command: ‘Quiet! Be still!'” (Mk 4:39).
    .
    Love, hugs, and prayers!
Big thanks to SRT Staff! ❤

God I Look To You – Acoustic Worship Song – Stephen McWhirter
    Lyrics:
God, I look to You I won’t be overwhelmed
Give me vision to see things like You do

God, I look to You, You’re where my help comes from
Give me wisdom You know just what to do

And I will love You, Lord, my strength
I will love You, Lord, my shield

I will love You, Lord, my rock
Forever, all my days, I will love You, God

    Hallelujah, our God reigns
    Hallelujah, our God reigns

    Hallelujah, our God reigns
    Forever, all my days, hallelujah

    1. Wendy B says:

      Great song share❤️

      1. Cee Gee says:

❤ Thanks, Wendy! So many are going through hard stuff right now; the words just spoke to me – especially on the heels if studying Nehemiah. ☺

  12. Kelly (NEO) says:

Such a great reminder in today’s verse!
    .
    Follow up Saturday
SEARCHING – did the facility do any investigation into June’s arm bruising? How is J’s eye issue doing?
    .
TANYA EVANS – has there been any change in Rita’s condition ?
    .
CHERYL BLOW – how did Merle’s hernia surgery go?
    .
KAREN ELIZABETH – how is your mom handling the chemo treatments?
    .
TRACI GENDRON – have you been able to make contact with Debbie? Praying she can be kept comfortable in her last days.

    1. Karen Elizabeth says:

The first week of chemo about a month ago was rough. I ended up making the 6 hour drive to see her spur of the moment when she admitted that she was in a lot of pain and I’m so glad I did. Since then she has been doing better with additional medications to combat the nausea and the pain. Thanks for asking, Kelly. So appreciate everyone’s prayers ❤️

      1. Rhonda J says:

Oh that’s so hard, I’m so glad you got to be with her. Prayers for ya’ll.

    2. Cheryl Blow says:

Thank you for checking! Merle is doing well. His first night was rough. But God was faithful! Thank you for your prayers

I heard about Whitney as well and it’s so very sad. It’s been such a heavy week for all the public reasons as well as my sweet cousin losing her 32 yr old son in an accident. I’m reminded more the older I get that this world isn’t my home. God please help us find our rest and hope in you alone.

    1. Kelly (NEO) says:

So sorry for your cousin’s loss. Prayers for the Lord’s comfort to be with your family

    2. Carol H says:

Prayers for your family’s loss, Sherri . Your right, with all the heaviness of our world, we need constant reminding that this world is not our home. May we lean into God and His promises. ♥️

      1. Rhonda J says:

yes, indeed. It is everywhere. A fallen world. Sin everywhere these days, sadness and grief! Lord give us some joy!

    3. Cheryl Blow says:

      Praying for your cousin

  14. Hannah C says:

Good morning! On this grateful Saturday I pray that all of you feel peace in your mind. Gratitude in your heart and enjoy your day with our Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ ❤️ Hannah.

  15. Sally B. says:

What a rich, practical study this one has been! Great job, as always, to the SRT team.

As several of you have noted, the podcasts have been very deep and helpful. Also like many of you, I have found other great podcasts hosted by the guests featured on SRT’s weekly episodes. One such, being “Theology and other Fun Stuff” with Whitney Capps. The latest episode of that one updated the listeners on Whitney’s cancer, which is back and they are suspending treatment. I was so very sad to hear this from Whtiney and will be praying for her family! Will we not be so very thrilled when God makes everything new and removes all tears, sorrow and disease!! Cancer is such a hateful scourge and, like me, I know many of you have dear friends and loved ones battling it as well.

Father, give us rest for our souls when the heaviness of this world wants to steal our hope and joy. And be with our friends and loved ones in the depths of this fight.

Sorry for this heavy news on your Saturday morning, Ladies! Praying God will grant us rest and restoration for the weekend.

    1. Rhonda J says:

I had never heard of her but you led me to her and a fb post she had recently made telling her followers. What a lovely and beautiful Sister of Christ and faith!

    2. Wendy B says:

I agree, such a great study and this is up there with one of my favorites.

It is very sad, heart breaking news about Whitney. She has been a contributing writer for SRT and on the podcast a few times so we have had benefited from her teaching and insights in this community over the years. Her ministry is so enriching, such a great encouragement and even in this difficult news she is still pointing to the help and hope of Jesus for all things and that He indeed will make all things new.❤️

  16. Tina says:

    Dearest Tina,
    .
As you go into your day, with its twists and turns, highs and lows, ups and downs, remember, as you often do that life is beautiful in its own way..
    .
    BUT GOD..
    .
GOD, brings you peace in the storms of life, in the loudness of the world, in the upside down craziness that can happen.
HE is gracious and merciful and faithful..
HE is the great I AM..
So, in Jesus’ words (Matthew 11:28), “Come to me all who are tired and carrying a heavy load, and i will give you rest..”
    .
Rest in God alone, my soul,
For my HOPE comes from HIM..
    .
    My hope comes from HIM..
    .
    Standing in that truth today.
    .
    AMEN.
    .
Praying you all well and hopefilled for a God blessed weekend for you all..
    .
    Much love,
    Tina..❤️

    1. Searching says:

Amen, sister ❤️ I was just praying similar thoughts, that the Lord God is the only God, the only One who can and will walk with us each step of the way through life’s high, lows, twists and turns, the only One with the power to save our souls. All praise and glory to our God who is worthy and the source of our hope.

      1. Cee Gee says:

Amen to both- TINA and Searching! ❤❤❤

      2. MARTHA HIX says:

        ❤️❤️❤️

    2. Rhonda J. says:

My husband gave me that same verse as “his verse of the day” on his phone this morning. He always does a hard 5 days of a fair, and today is second to last. He said he needed it. We all do, we need to know that our “true rest” comes from the Lord.

Love you prayer, but I’m gonna insert “Rhonda!” lol. Love to you today and everyday Tina!

    3. Wendy B says:

      Amen Tina. ❤️❤️❤️
