Open Your Bible

Isaiah 52:7

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of the herald,
who proclaims peace,
who brings news of good things,
who proclaims salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

  7. Jennifer Anapol says:

I have been sharing God’s word to a friend of mine, and I feel like she is judging me for believing in God. She is a very sweet friend of mine, but for some reason she is having a hard time hearing the truth. I may loose my friend. I’m not sure if she will be able to see past our differences. I will be sad if this happens, but what matters is that I shared God’s word.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Yes, sharing the truth is important, especially if she is a good friend she shouldn’t be surprised. Praying for this situation!

    2. Searching says:

I shared the truth with one of my dearest friends during our 25 year friendship. She passed away and I’m hopeful the words I shared and the example of my life made a difference as her time drew short. Only God knows.
      .
If the friendship isn’t toxic, it could be that you modeling Christ might be what speaks to her heart.

      1. Kat D says:

Amen! God is working through us in all we meet. Continue to show love to your friend, Jennifer.

  8. Joanna Shaw says:

Praise for for all he does! For his provision! And for his perfect timing!

  9. Cheryl Blow says:

This verse makes me think of all my missionary friends who give up everything to go to the farthest reaches of the world!

But then God reminded me that this verse is about anyone who shares the gospel! Even me teaching my little 2-3 year olds about Jesus! I never thought of this! We all have our mission field!

    1. Jennifer Branch says:

This resonates with me. I’ve always struggled with my mission, thinking it had to be a grandiose gesture…but I’m learning it can and is simple. We’ve started a bible study at work and I’ve seen amazing things come from it. Every deed is good, no matter how small. Bless you for blessing those 2-3 year olds.

      1. Rhonda J. says:

pretty amazing to do a group Bible study at work!

        1. Rhonda J. says:

and to keep and teach the 2s and 3s Cheryl!!

    2. Cee Gee says:

      Amen! ❤

      1. Cee Gee says:

Your comments reminded me of the old saying:
        Each one
        Reach one

Someimes it takes more than one to reach one and sometimes one can reach many. All under God’s sovereignty.

  10. Mari V says:

How BEAUTIFUL are the feet of our sweet SHE’s here at SRT! I love you all SO much! Can’t wait to meet y’all someday! Happy Saturday!

    1. Cee Gee says:

      Love you, too, Mari! ❤

    2. Tara B says:

      ❤️❤️❤️

  11. Aimee D-R says:

    Amen

  12. Traci Gendron says:

I went up to the mountain
    Because you asked me to
    Up over the clouds
To where the sky was blue
I could see all around me
    Everywhere
I could see all around me
    Everywhere
    Sometimes I feel like
I’ve never been nothing but tired
    cnd I’ll be walking
    Till the day I expire
    Sometimes I lay down
    No more can I do
But then I go on again
    Because you ask me to
    Some days I look down
    cfraid I will fall
    cnd though the sun shines
    I see nothing at all
Then I hear your sweet voice, oh
Oh, come and then go, come and then go
    Telling me softly
    You love me so
    The peaceful valley
    Just over the mountain
    The peaceful valley
    Few come to know
    I may never get there
    Ever in this lifetime
    But sooner or later
    It’s there I will go
    Sooner or later
    .
This is a long time favorite of mine. I felt it was my life. That God was asking me to go up to the mountain. To take care of Tanner. To rise to what He laid on my life. We go on because HE asks us to.

    1. B says:

God bless you Traci. This is beautiful.
Is this a poem? A song?

    2. Cee Gee says:

Thanks for sharing, Traci! ❤ Hugs, sister!

  13. Mollie says:

Today this song came to mind for some reason. Jesus, Lover of My Soul
Song by Hillsong Worship ‧ 1993.

  14. Cee Gee says:

    From Enduring Word Study Bible:
“Isaiah prophesied concerning the beautiful feet of those who bring good news, the gospel. The feet speak of activity, motion, and progress, and those who are active and moving in preaching the gospel are beautiful. The good news of peace, glad tidings, and salvation is summed up in the wonderful message, “God reigns!” This message brings joy and comfort to God’s people.”

    Psalm 96:8-13 NLT
Give to the Lord the glory he deserves!
Bring your offering and come into his courts.
9 Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor.
Let all the earth tremble before him.
10 Tell all the nations, “The Lord reigns!”
The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.
He will judge all peoples fairly.

11 Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice!
Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!
12 Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy!
Let the trees of the forest sing for joy
13 before the Lord, for he is coming!
He is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with justice,
and the nations with his truth.

In other words, He is making all things new! See Revelation 21:5.

A hymn I haven’t heard or sung in decades cameto mind this morning.
    SONG SHARE:
Christ was born in a distant land,
    Tell the good news, tell the good news;
Lived on earth for the good of man,
Tell the good news, tell the good news.
    Chorus
Tell the good news, tell the good news,
    Tell the good news that Christ has come;
Tell the good news, tell the good news,
Tell the good news to everyone.
Christ became a man on earth,
    Tell the good news, tell the good news;
Gave His life for man’s rebirth,
Tell the good news, tell the good news.
Christ arose and to heaven went,
    Tell the good news, tell the good news;
    All may follow who repent,
Tell the good news, tell the good news.
Christ still lives in the world today,
    Tell the good news, tell the good news;
Giving strength to all souls who pray,
Tell the good news, tell the good news

Love, hugs, and prayers! Let’s be ‘tellers’, sisters! ❤❤❤
    ✨✨✨
Main prayer concern with storm: big trees around our house and our son’s. Praying for protection for us, our pets, and our vehicles! I am praying for others in the path, too! ❤

  15. Lynne from Alabama says:

Good morning, sweet sisters! Praying God’s safety over all that are in the path of the winter storm. My part of Alabama is only expecting some frigid temperatures and maybe freezing rain (ice). Praying too for all our prodigals. ❤️

    1. Cee Gee says:

Thank you, sister, for checking in! I couldn’t find your area on the map when I was trying to check. ❤ Stay in and stay warm! ❤

  16. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

The joy of the promise of release from captivity! For Israel it was the coming release from their bondage to Babylon, for us it is the release from our bondage of sin – through the work of Jesus Christ, our redeemer. Rise up, shout for joy, burst into song – our Savior has come, and He is coming again!

@Heidi – how did your daughter do, did she get the lead part? Praying she took the news well however it went.
@Kira H – prayers for your neice, that the doctors will discover exactly what the problem is and treat it and for your sister and BIL. I have an almost 2 yr old grand-daughter, I can’t even imagine! May God’s peace rest on their hearts.
@Wendy B – prayers for your in-laws recovery and that all the details of their living facilities will be worked out.
@Rhonda – thank you for your encouraging words, and most of all for your prayers for our church – Grace Bible.

Happy Saturday – sending hugs and prayers, especially to those in the path of the storm. We are expected to get 12-18″ of snow here in North Jersey!

    1. Cee Gee says:

Thanks, Sharon! I wish we were getting snow instead of ice! ❤

    2. Cheryl Blow says:

Praying for all and those in the path of the storm.

    3. Wendy B says:

      Thank you❤️

  17. Kelly (NEO) says:

Let me say to you who are in seemingly chaotic seasons, “Your God reigns!”
    :-)
    .
Praying for the Lord’s mercy for those in the path of the coming winter storm.

    1. Cee Gee says:

Thanks for that encouragement, Kelly; amen! ❤

  18. Rhonda J. says:

    GM!
    Such a poetic verse…”how beautiful…the feet”
The Person that proclaims the good news- Jesus! We will have belief and joy! We are confident in the knowledge we have and want to share, to shout, to dance with Joy!! How can you not?! We have become so laxed with our faith, of keeping it private but that’s not how it’s supposed to be! We are to be excited about it, daily thankfulness, and yes, singing praise non-stop on our lips! Even in the hard…we are thrilled we HAVE a HELPER!! It changes our attitude!! You are not alone. Someone knows everything, including the outcome up ahead so we can stand strong in the knowledge of that!!

Have a good Saturday! We have a group rally this morning! I think I am leading like my 12th group…can ya’ll remember when I was nervous to lead for the first time a few years ago??!! But God..he wants us to get together and be fortified and walk together to study his word and live as Christ-followers! This time I chose the book “When Women Say YES to God!” Stepping out in our Yes!! I am so glad I just stepped out in my yes, and let God do the rest! The Holy Spirit is my helper always!! Trust in him to take your action step and amaze you!

    1. Cee Gee says:

      Well said, Rhonda! ❤

    2. Carol J Mylin says:

I well remember, dear friend!! It has been beautifully encouraging to see your story unfold ss you have shared with us over the years… But God!!! ♥️

  19. Searching says:

    Isaiah 52:7
    How beautiful upon the mountains

Are the feet of him who brings good news,

    Who proclaims peace,

Who brings glad tidings of good things,

    Who proclaims salvation,

    Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!”
    .
    Romans 10:15
And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
    .
Isaiah is proclaiming the announcement of God’s eventual (in His perfect timing) rescue and salvation of Judah from the Babylonians, while Paul is proclaiming Jesus’ rescue and salvation from sin and evil of those who hear God’s word and are willing to believe in Him and accept His gift.
Let’s share the truth of Jesus for all to hear, as we are led/sent by the Lord.
    .
KIRA H – praying for your niece Harper, for full healing of these symptoms, for clear scans of her brain, for all wisdom needed for her medical team
CEE GEE❤️ amen, sister. My heart hurts for the prodigals and the rejectors, and also for those with mental health challenges. Praying all will feel worthy of eternal life with God.
KRISTY – amen, joining you in prayer that God would astonish the world with His power.
RHONDA J – thank you for the shout out and I’m loving CEE GEE’s title for your shares, Daily Dose With Rhonda ❤️❤️❤️
WENDY B ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for serving in this way. I love your awesome family history of custodial service! I am a thanker of people who serve, some days I’m more aware than others – something I need to work on. Hoping the members help by picking up after themselves :)
Praying for your in-laws continued healing. Is it possible to have them in the same room/apartment despite the different care levels needed? I’ve seen that worked out with friends of ours to keep them together.

    1. Cee Gee says:

Thank you, Searching, for including Romans 10:15 and the context. Great share! Love your heart and prayers for the lost, sister! ❤❤❤

    2. Wendy B says:

      Thank you Searching. :)

MIL’s is assessed as independent and FIL will not be so unfortunately can’t be in the same room. The facility does have different levels of care available but once medical care is required, there are provincal funding rules that come into play and we have to make 3 choices of facility preferences and he will go wherever the first bed opens up. The social working has told us they do try to keep couples together but it doesn’t always work that way. We will just pray that it does and know that God can make the way ❤️

      1. Jane K says:

Praying for you all as you make these difficult decisions. Praying your MIL and FIL can be in the same facility.

    3. Cheryl Blow says:

      Praying over requests!

  20. Rhonda J. says:

Ah, thank you Tina! That was my first thought, and instead of looking it up, I thought someone would expound in comments! :)

  21. Emily Wilson says:

    ✝️❤️

  22. Amy Marlin says:

Prayers for everyone in the path of the winter storm

    1. Cee Gee says:

Thanks,Amy, and for you if you’re in it! ❤

  23. Tina says:

Had to look up herald as my mind kept sing the Christmas tune!
    .
an official employed to oversee state ceremonial, precedence, and the use of armorial bearings, and (historically) to make proclamations, carry official messages, and oversee tournaments.
    .
    Okay!
    .
    So, let’s make this understandable..
    .
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the official employed to make proclamation of peace
who bring news of good things,
    who proclaims salvation,
who says to Zion, ‘the Holy place’, “Your God reigns!’
    .
Father God, whenever I roam and where my feet will land, may I carry the message of your love, grace, peace, hope. And may I Lord God, proclaim “You are my God and You reign for ever in my heart..
    .
    Amen.
    .
    Happy Saturday my loves,,❤️

    1. Searching says:

      Amen!

    2. Sally B. says:

Love this Tina – wherever my feet land, I am carrying God, the Holy Spirit inside!

Father, let Your light shine through us wherever we are!!
(Grateful for prayers for safety during the coming storm – looks like lots of nasty ice for us!)

    3. Sharon Jersey Girl says:

Beautifully said, as usual Tina! ❤️

    4. Jane K says:

      Amen ❤️

    5. Cee Gee says:

      Amen! ❤
