Scripture Reading: Psalm 33:6-9, Exodus 15:1-21, Jeremiah 32:26-27, Mark 4:35-41, 1 Corinthians 15:20-28, Jude 1:24-25
God’s omnipotence is perhaps one of the first things we learn about Him. God’s power is how all things came into being, and He uses this power to sustain creation. God has unlimited power over all things at all times. The first passage in today’s reading alone is enough to rattle our finite minds. How does He do it? How is anyone that powerful?
While some days we may be filled with awe and wonder at this reality, other days we may wonder why He chooses to exercise His power in the way He does. Or more often than not, we wonder why He seems to withhold His unlimited power in devastating circumstances. In these moments, we wonder why He doesn’t prevent, provide, or hold some things together when He very well could.
Scripture does not speak to each individual circumstance we will face, but the Bible does tell us that God’s power is expressed according to His nature. Working in harmony with all of His other attributes, His omnipotence is a resounding comfort to us when we remember that nothing is impossible for Him and that nothing can prevent Him from achieving His good purpose.
God holds power over all things, governs all things, and by Him all things hold together (Colossians 1:16–17). And that power, that unshakeable grip on the cosmos, sustains us through every wind and wave that comes our way. God can do anything, and He does not act against His own character or nature: His goodness and holiness, His righteousness and love all participate in the exertion of His power. In time, we can begin to understand His omnipotence in light of His perfect will and all of His attributes.

I remember someone sharing this, God will not stop the fire you are going through, but He will be in there with you as He was with the three men. The case that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into a fiery furnace by King Nebuchadnezzar for refusing to worship his golden idol is quite extreme for our modern day, but upon reflection, I see it happening around us. The new world order is slowly forming and assertions of control through social oppressions and compliances, in various shapes and forms are forging God’s people to bow down to their idols. This example is the reminder that God will not remove trials from His people but will enable them to overcome. We see Him through the eyes of faith. The crown will soon follow the cross. Take heart for we are already on the winning team :) Have a lovely Friday and a blessed weekend dear sisters.
❤
God is powerful.
Dear Shes
“He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Silence! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Then he said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (Mark 4: 39-40).
Telling me, no matter what I’m going through, He’s there to steady me, smooth away my anxieties. Telling me, let the winds of my mind be quelled, the churning of my stomach be soothed.
Oh how I need to hear this, as my brother & sister in law struggle under serious illnesses.
Calling forth a continuous mantra…
“Peace, be still”.
His out working will be perfect.
I hold faith in the most merciful One without limits.
I pray to the Authority over all for all times.
Amen & Amen
I know I have shared my testimony of when I lost my gramps and my pink pen. God pointed me in scripture to heaven every single day for over a month. Now I have lost my dad and everyday God is reminding me who HE is! The truth and solidness of His character. I told my 18 year old today, remember my pink pen? I think I need to get a purple one for all that He is speaking to me as I grieve Pa! She said I have one:)
Today in 1 Corinthians 15 it is all the PINK!!! My God is God, He is immutable, He is Omnipresent, He is Omniscient, He is Omnipotent…. HE is ALL I need!! As I went through the crash Wednesday and had my cry…I prayed Lord I have lost my earthy father.. but I will never live a day without my Heavenly Father… and you are better than he ever could be to me and he was really great.. so help me get to know you more intimately through this loss. And as bad as I miss my daddy I know this will draw me even closer to my Heavenly Father! Such peace, such hope, such grace! The Lord is my strength and my song. He has became my salvation. This is my God and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. The Lord is a WARRIOR; the LORD is His name!! Thank you Jesus!
Car wash not crash:) I wish we could edit comments!
Hugs dear Kristy. And yes editing feature would be a nice touch :)
If we could understand God and His ways, then He wouldn’t be God! I can’t remember where I heard this quote but it is so true!
Our job is to trust Him and obey Him. Reminds me of the old song “Trust and Obey.”
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies
But His smile quickly drives it away
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear
Can abide while we trust and obey
Oh, Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go
Never fear, only trust and obey
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
Oh, Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
And ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus
Just to take Him at His Word
Just to rest upon His promise
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord”
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more
Lord oh, for grace to trust You more

Praying for all! Any news on Seth?
I visited Tammy in the hospital and she is in great spirits but she is so tiny now. Please continue prayers for her and her family.
❤
Yep, one of my favorite songs…and wisdom—just Trust and Obey!
Love that song!
Such a fitting week of readings for me as I pray for my dear friend (we were college roommates 20something years ago) and her son Andrew (9). He has been in the hospital since Monday night. Cysts behind his eyes have caused very high pressure in the brain. Still waiting to see what the cysts are from and if a biopsy is needed. Adding salt to the wound, this was their family’s spring break so he is very sad to be missing out on fun and suddenly spending the week in the hospital.
Praying our all-powerful God will see fit to bring total healing here. I thank you all who are praying!
I am praying for Andrew and his parents. Please keep us posted!
Such a fitting song plays right now- I’ve heard it many times, but today with this study, it is powerful and seen (sang) in a new light!
“So Will I” with Benjamin William Hastings.

“God holds power over all things, governs all things, and by Him all things hold together.”
—
This is where my hope lies. When I can know that the all powerful God is in control of every aspect of my life and that through His power He holds everything together – and that His purpose will be fulfilled, I can rest in perfect peace. He is my strength, He is my defense, He is my salvation. Hallelujah!
—
It’s easy for me to understand that through Christ, through the power of His Spirit He can keep me from stumbling – but being presented before the glorious presence of God as faultless – that’s a bit harder to grasp – but I’ll take it! …but God! It is all because of the blood of Christ that I can be washed clean! All glory and praise to God!

I’ve been away this week so haven’t had a chance to read through all the comments and take note of the prayer requests but hoping to catch up on all this weekend. Hope you are all doing well!

Blessings to you all on this Friday my dear sisters! ❤️
I agree on standing before him faultless! It is mind blowing to think of.
There is so much I could say right now…
How God has strengthened Steve’s body, feet & legs
.
How God has provided in so many ways as we work to bring our business back to where it needs to be…
.
How God has worked behind the scenes bringing so many details together…
.
How God has shown his grace and mercy throughout this process…
.
How God has reminded me so many times of His love…
.
Yes, He parted the waters, He calmed the storm.
.
AND HE STILL DOES!
.
There are still storms…there always will be on this earth. But He walks with us through them and gives us peace.
.
Hugs and thanks to all who continue to pray for us. We have seen God work in so many ways. Every day has crazy, but He is with us!
❤️
LOVE this Sue!! How powerful to KEEP sharing HOW God works in the details of our lives!! Amen!!
❤️
I love that! Each day has crazy but he is with us!
Yes, Gramsie Sue!
He reigns over the crazy,
cause He is crazy in LOVE with us!
God is Omnipotent! If you’re a control freak like me, having omnipotence can sound appealing. Complete control? Sign me up!! And yet, the more I think about it, that’s not a job I want. I can’t imagine the weight that comes with having complete authority over every single thing & person! Thank you God for being EVERYTHING to every one of your children!
Right?! That is so me…let me do it..be in control! Then as soon as I am…I chastise myself of not being nearly as able as I think I am! lol.
Yes, Susan
And He never blinks or slumbers!
I loved being reminded of God’s power and might. But one little verse in the Exodus passage made me giggle…”Then the prophetess Miriam, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women came out following her with tambourines and dancing…” So not only did all the women apparently own tambourines, but even in the chaos and rush to leave Egypt, the women packed those babies with the rest of their “essentials” ;).
LOL. I never noticed that.
Good observation !!!
perhaps the worship team packed and ran :)
I often wondered why God withheld healing from my son. I will never have total understanding. But what I do know is He gave me comfort through it. And I’m so thankful for that.
I often think of Tanner and others as well, when we know miracles happen, so why not for you? But then, there could have been years added on to his life being the miracle?! I know you have said he was not expected to grow up to adulthood and so long? It’s comforting to know that maybe you could have lost him much sooner but God wanted to give you the gift of keeping him longer? We know and trust God knows the perfect plan…but hard not to question it all. What I DO KNOW… you are such a beautiful testimony to us all!
❤️
My pastor told a story about his son’s premature birth in last week’s sermon, about all of the answered prayers and miracles his son experienced, and about how healthy and whole his son is today. I know his son and I love him dearly. I appreciate all of the kindness his son showed mine when they were teenagers, and his son took mine under his wing and showed such kindness and exceptional maturity that it brought tears to my eyes then and even now, a dozen years later. But the story also stung me a little. Ok, maybe a lot. Because, you see, my son’s brain damage was not healed. My son did not make top athlete in our state his senior year in high school nor win a college scholarship. He will never marry nor give me grandchildren. He will never attain his dream job of serving in the military and may never even learn to cross the street by himself. My son’s father abandoned us and sued me for alimony and won.
Does that mean that my prayers were not answered, or that I did not experience a miracle? Sometimes the devil whispers such lies in my ear, but I know my Savior, and I know that those are lies from the Father of Lies. My prayers have all been heard and they have all been answered by my loving Father who knows just what my son and I need. My son has experienced plenty of miracles, some of which I have recognized and probably many more that I have not. God has used this precious child to conform me more into the image of his Son than I could ever have imagined that I needed, and He has used him to help deliver me and all of my children from generational cycles of abuse. There is still more work to be done in both his life and mine and in the lives of his siblings, so I guess I needed to remember that this miracle baby is still a work in progress after more than 3 decades. The same can surely be said for my pastor’s son, but that is his family’s story to tell.
Such a good reminder.
When talking of God’s Omnipotence, I think of the show that’s been on Sunday night that I have caught a few times about planet Earth and all the magnificent happenings in nature! It is fascinating! And to think that there are millions of such unique, characteristics in every living creature is uncontainable to our minds! And nature itself that works with these creatures. But God—He made every single thing and holds it all in power. Even our human bodies can overwhelm our minds to how it functions, our breath, in and out each minute, our heart and organs doing their job….powered by our Mighty God!
We see the power of nature in hurricanes and tornadoes, floods, and fires. And God is still in control, using as he wills or not. We will not understand when thousands are hurt or killed. But it is not for us to try to figure out.
“The Lord will perfect what concerns me” His will for me and my life is in His precious hands when I surrender to him, and he establishes me. Step by step..he is preparing me, and working in me…by trust and faith.
His omnipotence can also give us great power in knowing he has already conquered the devil that is right now lurking to kill and destroy. Satan ONLY has power when we allow it, because the name of Jesus, he HAS to flee! That is an amazing power given to us, that have Jesus in us! I forget often “the same power that rose Jesus from the crave lives in us!” Imagine! He gave the disciples power to cast out demons and to heal the sick!” It is greater for us that he left, so we may have the Spirit in us! That is something that should blow us away, and make us have courage and boldness! But I often shrink back in lack of understanding. Lord- increase my faith and wisdom!
I love the song “Peace Be Still,” the Lauren Daigle version. When the waves threaten to overtake us, in our fear and anxiety…Lord, all-powerful, maker of the sea, he can give us true peace that passes all understanding. Thank you God! May we remember every day, every moment My God, YOUR God is ALL-Powerful. Let that give you peace today…and he has prepared you for such a time as this…to prosper you!!
So good Rhonda!!! It is an exercise for me to think and say out loud, He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world. Sometimes for example when i am in a meeting with potential intimidating character(s), I forget all about that. Courage and strong character is so needed in spiritual battles that hide in daily life battles. So crucial to practice these truths through daily remembrance by reading His word, by shifting mindset, or else we can be easily defeated, belittled and bullied.
Happy Friday sweet She’s! Have to admit, I’m SO glad it’s Friday and can sleep in a tad longer tomorrow! In today’s reading I felt Jeremiah 32:26-27 speak out to me. “…Is anything too difficult for me?” Sigh… the answer is NO. And as we we all know, the word NO doesn’t always have to be negative which in this scripture it’s GOOD because our God is good! Even when we don’t understand and it hurts. Our God is and will always be good.
My write up was rescinded.HR lady called and said she spoke with my boss and the write up was rescinded and would not go in my file. This was God and God alone. Meanwhile I will be job hunting.

A new song by Michael W. Smith & Charity Gayle: Sovereign Over Us – the lyrics kind of fit today’s read. Partial lyrics:
You are wisdom unimagined
Who could understand your ways
Reigning high above the heavens
Reaching down in endless grace
You’re the lifter of the lowly
Compassionate and kind
You surround and you uphold me
And your promises are my delight
Your plans are still to prosper
You have not forgotten us
You’re with us in the fire and the flood
You’re faithful forever
Perfect in love
You are sovereign over us
.
I agree that the last sentence of the devo gives us too much credit as written. Possibly the staff was trying to convey that as we get to know God and gain knowledge of His attributes in totality, we have a better chance of trusting His will and plan. That I can agree with.
.
Love, hugs, and prayers! ❤
Reaching down in endless grace. You’re the lifter of the lowly- so good! Thank you CEE GEE ❤️❤️❤️

God’s omnipotence isn’t proven by a life without chaos — it’s proven by His power to bring light from darkness, life from death, and peace in the middle of the storm.
Strength to endure
Hope to believe
Faith to trust
Isaiah 40:29-31
❤️
Yes, Kimberly!
We have strength.
We have hope.
We have faith in His fullness.
I’m not sure we will ever truly even begin to understand this but accept maybe…it’s beyond our comprehension, I’d say. God is great, we give Him all the praise – He’s the Name above all Names!
Everything about Him is amazing!
I love the honesty in today’s devotion as it so simply captures how most of us feel about God’s power, especially when tragedies happen and we are left wondering “Why didn’t you stop it, God?” Yes, we know that He loves us and we don’t have to understand everything (even when we want to), but I also think it’s so important to acknowledge those feelings and bring them to Jesus, even as He is comforting us through the trials and hard moments. God is with us to sustain us and give us strength. That is His promise to us and one we can count on.
Amen.
Help me to trust always even when I don’t understand. In Jesus name, Amen
I can’t really agree with the devo where it says “In time, we can begin to understand His omnipotence in light of His perfect will and all of His attributes.”
.
God’s omnipotence – the power of God is unlimited, I believe and totally accept that fact. Yet I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of understanding. I can’t even understand many (most?) ordinary earthly things … how old fashioned telephones (like my wired landline ) work for example, much less today’s technological world, much less God’s omnipotence – but accept as truth and believe, absolutely.
–
Two of the verses that stood out to me today –
Jeremiah 32: 27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”
.
Psalm 33: 9 For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.
–
Humming an old chorus we probably all know … My God Can Do Anything (anything, anything) and will listen again today to a new release (last week I think) by Phil Wickham, What An Awesome God – I heard it for the first time yesterday, an expansion of Rich Mullins’ Awesome God.
–
TANYA EVANS – thank you for the update, thankful for HR rep’s kindness and her work on your behalf. Continuing to pray for total resolution.

❤ “Understand” – thoughts reflected in my comment. Thanks for pointing that out.
Thanks for the songs! Listened to the new one already. ☺
Agreeing in prayer!
Me too sister. “I do not concern myself with things too wonderful for me” :) physics is one of them.
Totally agree that “more often than not, we wonder why He seems to withhold His unlimited power in devastating circumstances. In these moments, we wonder why He doesn’t prevent, provide, or hold some things together when He very well could.”
.
It is these times of feeling totally helpless when His power does not seem to be enough that we question His goodness and love.
.
Exodus 15:11
“Lord, who is like you among the gods?
Who is like you, glorious in holiness,
revered with praises, performing wonders?”
