Nahum 1:7

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize the key verse for Nahum.

The Lᴏʀᴅ is good, a stronghold in a day of distress; he cares for those who take refuge in him.

Wonderful verse! Something is up with my husband. He fell Friday evening, yesterday afternoon, yesterday evening and then I prevented the 4th fall. I have interviewed three times and hope for a part-time or flexible position (one position would allow working from home). My teaching position is extremely difficult this year and it wears me out. Our son, daughter-in-law, and grandson will be moving out in approximately two weeks, which means Dennis will be alone every day while I am at school. I am praying, trusting, hoping and takin refuge.

Praying for God to meet all your needs – for a position that frees you to better care for your husband, that the reason for these falls would be determined and they would cease, for peace and confidence that God sees and cares so deeply for you. Hugs from here, friend.

I have been living in “a day of distress” that has now lasted several months. God is indeed my stronghold. I cling to His words for they give me strength to persevere and not lose hope. I strap on the armor of God every morning and recall His faithfulness. I praise Him for Who He is and what He has done in my life. I trust what He’s done before, He will do again. He is unchanging. He is True to His Word. I know He alone is my deliverer. I wait on Him, expectantly. He is a good good Father. He takes care of me.

    1. Sue says:

Church mouse, thank you for your vulnerability and for being part of this community. You have been an inspiration to me as I read your words each day.

Praying you will feel the arms of our good, good Father around you today as you take refuge in Him.

Praying for you this day and the coming days. You are and have been such an encouragement to me through many of these studies, as I have read your words. Even though you are walking this dark path now, you do so with so much light and faith, that one can only be encouraged by your walk. I have written more than once in my journals, after reading your words, this is one woman of faith that I can’t wait to meet in heaven. Until then, I pray for you! Susan from Michigan.
