Day 14

Weekly Truth

from the Mourning and Dancing reading plan

1 Corinthians 10:31

BY She Reads Truth

Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.

This week, we are memorizing this reminder from the Apostle Paul that we can worship God in every situation—big and small, in joy and in sorrow.

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for God’s glory.”
—1 Corinthians 10:31

Write this verse down and post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.

We want to be a community that is intentional about scripture memorization. Will you join us?

So thankful for this study! Before I started it I felt like I had already come through a season of mourning, little did I know that a dear friend would be in the midst of struggle and my family would enter into a pivotal trial…with this study it’s kept me near to Gods heart towards me and the ones i love and has helped me keep my eyes fixed on him as he speaks identity, strength and hope to me. I’ll be revisiting this one again!

  4. Katie says:

Thank you for this plan! Each day I seemed to read about a topic that I needed to read. Funny how that timing works out ;)!

Thank you for this study, She Reads Truth. It has helped me get through the most uncertain of times, full of worry — and with your guidance I leaned hard into God’s word, didn’t look at my circumstances but instead saw hope….we found out just 2.5 weeks ago we have to move, quite suddenly, after 6.5 years in the same home. And yesterday we signed a lease on a new and better place, the kind I never thought we’d qualify for, the kind that surpasses my wildest expectations. So thankful I had this study to help me keep my mind on Him & know that, in this world we are DESTINED to go through hard things, BUT GOD! He designed mourning and dancing to go hand in hand, and with the richness of one we can fully feel the other. Thank You Lord, and thank you SRT!

I had no idea that when I started this study two weeks ago that I would be ending it with my dad going in to hospice care tomorrow. We were given the news yesterday. On Grace Day, yesterday, we all took a deep breath and told my father that his home – going is nearing. Oh SRT what a comfort and blessing this study has been and will continue to be as I lament his earthly passing yet dance in the hope of heaven! Journaling my laments using your template has provided a diary of sorts of these days and that is a precious gift. It will aid in the remembering in future days. So, no heavy heart here. Only a grateful one. Morning prayers lifting us all up as we journey through our days, the good ones and the tough ones, together. There is no stronger bond of encouragement than the love of Christ.

    1. Leah says:

    3. Rhonda says:

God’s perfect timing…praying for you all as you go down this path before you. I walked this path five years ago with my Dad…what an indescribable comfort to be in His peaceful arms.

    4. Krystle says:

I’ll be praying for you & your family! <3
