Weekly Truth

from the Acts of the Apostles reading plan

Acts 17:28

BY She Reads Truth

Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.

As we read through Acts, we are memorizing a 6-verse passage, Acts 17:24-29, from Paul’s eloquent yet succinct presentation of the gospel to the Greek philosophers at the Areopagus. By memorizing one verse per week of the study, we will have all six verses memorized by the end. Here is this week’s verse:

For in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.
–Acts 17:28

Write this verse down and post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.

We want to be a community that is intentional about scripture memorization. Will you join us?

There is a 12 minute Vimeo on the TGC about how it is easy to make our “correct doctrine” or “correct theology” the center of our faith versus the personal relationship with Christ. This verse reminds me that in Him I live, move and exist. Yes, Biblical doctrine and theology are important but may I continue by the Holy Spirit’s power to put that relationship with Him as the center.

Glad you mentioned that. This is a part I feel I’ve been recently convicted in and how easy it is to make one prideful. Do you mind sharing the title of the video.

I would love to watch that video too.

I will pray Jillian. If you have already been praying, as I believe you have, trust what you know to be true. Our God speaks in many ways. He provides.

The sun rises on a new day! This is the day the Lord has made and He has graciously given it to us. Great is His faithfulness! Lifting up my SRT sisters this morning. Rejoicing in our fellowship, staff and post-ers alike! You all help lift the burdens and lighten the load of this journey of Faith. I thank you!

Hi SRT community! I could really use some prayer right now. I’m currently a university student, and I’ve felt uneasy about my chosen field of study for a while. I don’t hate what I’m studying, but I don’t picture myself having a career in the field at all. I had thought about attending Bible college for a while, and now it just keeps coming up. Posts on Facebook, conversations with people, even dreams! I think God may be calling me to attend Bible college, and possibly pursue a career in ministry of some kind, but I’m not sure if it’s God putting the idea in my head or if I’m just excited. Please pray that the Lord makes things clear in my mind. And if it is what He wants me to do, please pray that I find the boldness to leave behind the comfortable life I’ve created for myself to seek something more. Thanks so much!

Morning to all my SRT friends! Wonderful day to thank God that He is near and does not need us to run errands for Him. His power is enough to hold together even a hot mess like me! Amen
