Weekly Truth

from the Acts of the Apostles reading plan

Acts 17:27

BY She Reads Truth

Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.

As we read through Acts, we are memorizing a 6-verse passage, Acts 17:24-29, from Paul’s eloquent yet succinct presentation of the gospel to the Greek philosophers at the Areopagus. By memorizing one verse per week of the study, we will have all six verses memorized by the end. Here is this week’s verse:

He did this so they might seek God, and perhaps they might reach out and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.
–Acts 17:27

Write this verse down and post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.

We want to be a community that is intentional about scripture memorization. Will you join us?

I’m praying for all of us today. We come to His word every day, seeking Him, His wisdom and His kingdom. I pray the power of the Word and the Spirit would extend outwardly to those around us, that they might see Him through us.
I pray that He fills us with love for those who are seeking Him, perhaps without even knowing.

Lots of love, sisters! May you have a blessed week :)

My friend Zoe doesn’t believe. She claims she would like to believe and learn more. She is open to it, but she says she doesn’t know how. How can I help her to understand more and guide her along the right path?

Have you looked at Bill Faye materials “How to Share Your Faith Without an Argument”. I love the concept that you say little to nothing and that they read pieces of scripture to you and the Holy Spirit directs the conversation.

I pray. I speak Jesus. I live for Jesus… so that_____might seek God, and perhaps_____might reach out and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. Is there one on your heart, dear sister, like there is one especially on mine, whom you want to know Jesus? Is there one who is lost who you desire to be found? Today, let’s name that particular one that we might pray for all who are on our hearts. Let us pray confidently because He is not far. Oh that today would be the day! Her name is Mary. (thank you for your prayers)

Joining all of you in prayer for Mary, Scott, Matthew, Zoe, Levi, Zoe, Chris, Janey, Jim, Steve and Kelly – oh that today would be the day! Heavenly Father you know each of these individual hearts, their concerns, fears, and what is holding them hostage from You. I pray for each of the friends & family members who are lifting them up, give them the exact words – at the right moment – to share Your perfect love and the incredible gift of grace you offer each person.
