Man must not live on bread alone
but on every word that comes
from the mouth of God.”

Wish I have been doing this one more often. Challenges? I love them. With this one I believe that memorizing verses is the way to fully connect with our Alfa and Omega. By doing that, we invest time in Him and we are showing Him that his presence is appreciated. Memorizing the verses is just a beginning of opening doors to His kingdom. So let’s all join in and together lift His word higher!

I need the Word of God. When I don’t spend time with Jesus it affects how I think, what I say, and how I act. The Word of God reminds me of truth. Reminds me of the joy I have because of the gospel. Reminds me of my purpose and the love I have to share with others!

We just returned from a couples retreat talking about this very thing. God’s word has the blueprint for life….life more abundantly. We often chose to follow words of man through the latest book, tv show, or culture rather than following God’s word. Love how God puts all this together. God’s word is powerful and cuts like a sword. God really worked in my heart on many issues. Meditating today on God’s word and his promises to strengthen me and that I can do all things through Christ. Have a blessed day worshipping our Lord and Savior today.

Man must live on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Because that’s where life is. If I choose to live my life on what I can accomplish, what I can buy or who I can impress, it will be an empty, dead life. Life, abundant life, is not found in “I.” It is found in the Word of God. It is found in Jesus.

This is my first she reads truth plan and I love that the weekends are ore about meditation and memorization of scripture. This verse and the Lord’s Prayer for yesterday are both verses and sections of scripture I hear all the time, but yesterday I truly meditated on what it means to want God’s kingdom on the earth and just recognizing that yearning helped me focus on putting my family first yesterday and being extra patient with my son and husband. Today is more about me. As someone who has struggled with my weight my entire life it is comforting to remember that not only does my Lord love and expect me as I am but in him I have all that I truly need.

I’m thankful to know that because of the blood of Jesus that has hidden us in Himself, our Father looks on us with perfect love and sincerest pleasure. My prayer for you today is that you are able to walk free, knowing He is your good Father Who tells you that He is pleased with you! Be blessed today sweet sister.

I always find this verse to be among the most comforting of Jesus 40 days in the desert. He was tempted. He felt this very human thing, but he used the Word. He resisted. And went on to save us from every temptation we resist and those we do not.
